CHOOSE YOUR ENDING

There are 6 endings to the game. You will get to decide exactly what ending you want in Chapter 5, provided you do the following:

If you want the "All Good Things" or "The Sacrifice" ending, always choose the first answer when prompted with three responses to Turing.

If you want the "A New Blue" or "Complicity" ending, always choose the third answer when prompted with three responses to Turing.

If you want the "Clark Kent" or "Flatline" ending, your responses to Turing don't matter.

If you block off your opponent, he will destroy closed doors and approach you in a direct line until you're caught. If you're caught, shoot in the center, or else you lose. If you're caught five times, you lose. If you survive six rounds, you win.]
USE Control Panel (The correct answers here might depend on whether you chose Turing to seek Justice, Truth, or Revenge. I'm not sure. Choosing, "Turing, when are you..."+, "In a matter of minutes..."+, "This isn't over..."-, "You and aunt..."+, "TOMCAT..."- worked for me.)

If you want the "Flatline" ending, fail this final puzzle on purpose. Otherwise, your ending will be determined based on only two things: If you were nice or mean to Turing (see "Choose your ending" at the top of this FAQ for details), and if you passed or failed the codebreaker puzzle in Chapter 5.

What ending will you get?

Here's a breakdown of how to get each of the endings:

"Clark Kent" - End the game in the Chapter 5 intro conversation by choosing "This is a bad idea..." and "I just write the news..."

"Flatline" - Fail the final puzzle.

"All Good Things" - Nice to Turing; Passed codebreaker puzzle.

"The Sacrifice" - Nice to Turing; Failed codebreaker puzzle.

"A New Blue" - Mean to Turing; Passed codebreaker puzzle.

"Complicity" - Mean to Turing; Failed codebreaker puzzle.

But wait, which one is the true good ending?

One of the main themes of the game is the ethics and morality of identity in living beings and synthetic beings as technology evolves. This is becoming a real issue today, and it's just going to get more difficult as time passes. Each ending explores a possible path of our future -- both the positive and negative effects. The true ending is the one that best fits your beliefs, and it's up to you to make that decision. (Unfortunately, this means you might be weirded out by the first ending you get. In my case, it wasn't until I got "A New Blue" that I found my true ending.)

The game is also a call to action. The worst decision is the one you don't make. There's one scene that never changes across all endings -- it represents what happens if we let large corporations make our decisions for us.
