One of the best action/adventure games out there.

Let me start by saying I am a hardcore Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden fan. I enjoy the relentless challenge that comes with playing these type of games, Bayonetta is no exception and If you aren't looking for a challenge, I wouldn't recommend this game, It's not the hardest game out there.... But Its far from easy.
Graphics: 9
The graphics in this game are gorgeous. First of all, the areas are just stunning from the lush green Paradiso, to a city caught in a blazing inferno, you will not get tired of looking at the environments. The character and enemy designs are exceptional as well, and the animations are so ridiculously fluid they will probably make your jaw drop. The cut-scenes look exceptional as well. Sometimes these scenes come in the form of comic book style still images, that I could see people having problems with, but personally I feel they are excellent because they cut-down the length of the scenes so you can get on to the awesome.......
Gameplay: 10
Wow.. This game has perhaps the most fluid and fun gameplay I have ever experienced. The fluidity of the vast array of combos is just astounding. This game is probably one of the fastest game I have ever played and you get a real sense of sheer speed once you get he hang of the battle-system. There are several different weapons in the game, and most of them behave quite differently. The sheer amount of moves is mind-blowing as well, having recently beaten the game, I am sure there are tons of combos I haven't even seen yet. The game is difficult, yes, but it's fair, when I die I feel as if it's my fault as opposed to the games poor mechanics like in some games (I'm looking at you Ninja Gaiden.) Anyway, if you are a fan of any games in the genre, the gameplay in Bayonetta will not disappoint.
Sound: 9
Not much to say here, the voice acting is solid, and strangely, this is probably the only game where I did not absolutely loathe the child character. The music in game is cool as well, it's got a very jazzy vibe, which, I feel reflects the characters and setting, and If you don't like the music you can play your own stuff through the Xbox itself. Overall, sounds good to me, the jazz inspired music might be a bit off-putting to some people though.
Story: 5
Well, it is what it is, I doubt anyone will actually buy this game for the story.. I don't want to dwell on the story very long, because it's not great and I don't want to spoil anything, basically you are a witch who for some reason has to kill a certain number of angels and send them to hell, it's a typical amnesia storyline, and you learn more as you progress.
Replayablity: 10
This game will last you, the first play-through is relatively short (about 8 hours) but if you enjoy the game (which I am sure you will) you will be compelled to search for hidden items and play on harder difficulties. There is much to unlock and lots of hidden secrets. In the end, you'll probably be playing this one for a long while
Closing Comments:
This is pretty much the epitome of hack and slash gameplay. You owe it to yourself to play this one.
