Greetings person looking at this! Welcome to my guide to Crystal Dynamics and Square-Enix's latest foray into the seemingly endless adventures of Lara Croft - Rise of the Tomb Raider. Players of the original Tomb Raider (2013) reboot will find themselves right at home in Rise of the Tomb Raider with the sequel playing a lot of the same cards and not straying too far from the formula that made the previous title so well received and critically acclaimed. That means tonnes of exploring, a good deal of equipment to help you explore, some solid shooting action and more than a few tombs to, well, raid!
This guide will provide you with a walkthrough that will take you through the game from beginning to end helping with strategies to get you through all the tricky puzzles and difficult combat situations, tackle the challenge tombs, help you get to the locations of all the good stuff whilst collecting as many of the games ridiculous number of collectibles and achievements/trophies as possible along the way.
Note: This guide is still a work in progress. I'll be adding to it periodically until I have completed all of the campaign missions, optional exploration, Challenge Tombs and collectibles and an achievement/trophy guide. In its current state, the guide currently features:
- A completed walkthrough from start to finish incorporating all the games Collectibles (Documents, Relics and Survival Caches) and area Challenges for 100% completion.

Although I make these guides for free in my spare time, I probably don't need to point out that purchasing games is an expensive hobby and writing guides can be a very long, incredibly difficult and thankless task at the best of times, but one that is very challenging and rewarding.
A simple donation is a great, easy way to say thanks if you feel that my guide has saved you some time, money and frustration in some small way. By no means feel obligated to donate just for viewing my guide, but if you are feeling a little generous I certainly won't object!

Welcome to my walkthrough for the first (and hopefully not last) piece of story-based downloadable content for Crystal Dynamics' latest Tomb Raider game - Rise of the Tomb Raider. This guide will help you play through the game from start to finish, completing the new area Challenges as you come across them whilst also collecting all of the DLCs newly added hidden collectibles along the way for 100% completion.
As mentioned earlier, if you see any errors, have a question, a tip or an alternate strategy for a section of the guide please head to the contact section and flick me an email to let me know!
Note: A dedicated collectible locations guide is planned for a future edit to the guide and will be found below the main walkthrough.

I hope you enjoy using the guide as much as I enjoyed writing it!
Without further ado, lets get to it!
Once you have purchased the DLC and installed it, you'll be able to access the content from your save game. The main objectives for the DLC will appear as pink skull markers on the map. To begin the DLC, you'll want to fast travel to one of the Base Camps in the Soviet Installation and approach the saw mill area.
Take care as you approach the saw mill area as it is likely that there could be either a pack of 4-5 wolves just to the southwest or additional Trinity patrols in the area to the north/east of the saw mill (or even both!) wandering around. If you alert them, it's a good idea to take them out before proceeding. Once the saw mill is in sight, you'll see several Trinity soldiers wandering about the area.
There are three standard soldiers patrolling around on the main level of the saw mill. Either sneak in and take them out one at a time with ranged weapons/silent takedowns or cruise on in and take them out in a fire fight to clear the area.
Once the soldiers have been dealt with, your objectives will update.
Objective: Find the hidden Remnant
With the Trinity soldiers out of the way, we are now tasked with finding the hidden Remnant lady that they were searching for who is located in the building. Fortunately, this is relatively easy due to the fact that you'll get objective markers pointing to three hiding spot locations and using survival Instincts will further help you narrow down their positions.
Investigate the three locations until you locate the Remnant. The search areas can be found in the following locations:
- In a locker west of the large saw blade on the main level of the saw mill.
- In a locker west of the large saw blade on the main level of the saw mill.
- In a locker on the second floor of the saw mill.
Note: once you have located the Remnant, you'll earn the achievement/trophy ‘Hide and Seek'.
Once you have located the Remnant fighter, a short scene will play and you'll have completed the mission. The Remnant will now offer you a follow up mission to continue the DLC.
To continue, you'll want to make your way to the east and enter the cave leading to the ‘Voice of God' Challenge Tomb (or fast travel to the ‘Frozen Gorge' Base Camp to save a little time. If you haven't been there yet, follow the objective marker!
From the ‘Frozen Gorge' base Camp, follow the set route along the cliffs, ledges and handholds until you reach the entrance to the Challenge Tomb's puzzle area. Instead of heading inside, locate the stairs leading away from the entrance. Use the newly added zip line here to reach the wooden walkway on the far side of the chasm.
Follow the wooden path here, hopping across the pair of gaps as required. Upon reaching the small camp fire, locate the crack between the rocks nearby and have Lara squeeze on through to find a cavern.
Use the icy platforms here to reach the lit up area at the far end of the area. Proceed through the passage here to reach the Wicked Vale.
Note: At this point you'll earn the achievement/trophy ‘Abandon All Hope'.
A short distance along the set route you'll find a new Base Camp ‘Wicked Vale'. You can use the Base Camp here to apply any upgrades you require and spend any skill points you have. Exit the Base Camp menu when you are ready to continue.
Before leaving the area, look on the floor by the camp fire to locate Document [01/21 - Russian]. Take the stairs to the right of the camp fire and at the top you'll find another Document [02/21] atop a crate. Continue through the crack in the wall by the top of the stairs.
As you enter the next area, Lara will comment about some pollen in the air. We can't do much else at this point but to follow the linear route. When you reach the creepy forest type area, follow the NPC that appears as he leads you through the area, triggering a few hallucinations and a jump scare or two.
After following him enough, you'll reach the end of the route. A short scene will play and afterwards you'll be able to venture through a crack in the rocks that appears.
Follow the snowy path down the slope until you reach a wooden platform overlooking a dry riverbed below. At this point a scene will play.
When you regain control, you'll find yourself on the dry riverbed with a creepy boss monster looking on. A large group of zombie-style wolves will appear from the cave below the boss and will attack you immediately. In total there are 8-10 wolves that you will need to dispatch. Use whatever weapons you have at your disposal to deal with the oncoming threat but note that locating the den the wolves emerge from and planting Poison Arrows in front of it is a good way to take out several at once.
After killing all of the wolves off, a short scene will play.
Note: At this point you'll earn the achievement/trophy ‘A Moment of Clarity'.
As soon as you regain control of Lara, hop into the water. Swim through the waterfalls ahead to find a small platform behind them on the far side of the pool. On the platform you'll find Document [03/21 - Russian].
Swim back to the start location and climb the slope and use your pickaxes to navigate the successive scalable walls to climb to the top of the area.
Upon reaching the top of the scalable walls, immediately turn around to spot a platform in the distance. Use your grapple axe ability on the beam above to swing across to it. Here you'll find another Document [04/21]. Once you have it, swing back across the gap.
Follow the path and scramble up the nearby wall. As soon as you are up, turn immediately to the left to spot a roped-up barrier below the platform with the machinery. Pull this down with your Rope Arrows and proceed inside to find a Document [05/21 – Russian] on a crate.
Now climb up to reach the machinery above. In the centre of this area is a vat with gas emanating from it, a lever mechanism beside this and a spinning rope spool behind it. Opposite, there is a locked gate here with another lever beside it. Above the gate is a hanging bucket with rope wrapped around it. It's time for a little puzzle solving!
To complete this puzzle, you'll want to first interact with the lever by the locked door to drop the bucket down so that it hangs a little lower. Next, head around behind the vat and stand by the spool of rope. Use a Rope Arrow to attach the bucket to the rope spool and it will slowly be pulled into the room. As it reaches the vat, hit the lever next to the vat to open it and cause an explosion, forcing the bucket through the locked door and allowing access.
Proceed through the now open door and approach the desk further down the tunnel for a scene. The book that Lara grabs during the cut-scene counts as Document [06/21].
Our objectives will now update and we'll be required to gather some ingredients in order to make an antidote to counteract the hallucinogen in the Wicked Vale. This requires that we gather Seed Pods from inside caves in the Soviet Installation region and hunt and kill a pair of deer for Deer Livers .
Following the scene, use your Rope Arrows to pull down the nearby roped up blockade. This will place you back at the ‘Wicked Vale' Base Camp. Use the Base Camp to fast travel back to the ‘Logging Camp' Base Camp in the Soviet Installation region.
Once you have arrived, look at your map and you'll notice that there are five pink objective markers on the map marking the entrances to caves around the saw mill area that contain the Seed Pods that we require. The Seed Pods themselves can be harvested from a vine-type plant with red flowers (you'll immediately recognize it when you see it). There are usually 2-3 of these in each of the caves and as such we'll only need to explore a couple of caves in order to harvest all of the Seed Pods we require.
As you are walking between caves, keep an eye out for Trinity soldiers patrolling around the saw mill (both times I played through the DLC there was a large patrol of 4-5 enemies just to the west). It's also a good idea to look for Deer as we'll be required to kill and skin two of them in order to scavenge the Deer Livers we require. If you aren't having much luck with Deer in the Soviet Installation, feel free to revisit the Siberian Wilderness or the Geothermal Valley maps and hunt Deer there until you have the required reagents.
Once you have obtained five Seed Pods and two Deer Livers, your objectives will update.
At this point we'll need to collect an additional reagent from the Copper Mill. Either fast travel to the ‘Copper Mill Yard' Base Camp or run over to the entrance.
From the camp fire here, head through the gate that was previously blocked by the rope barricade we destroyed earlier and climb the ladder on the train in the next area. Jump across the adjacent rooftops until you reach the next ladder hanging from above. At this point, look to the left to spot a rope barrier that we can pull down (or an opening if you already pulled it down – remember there was a Poster for an area challenge inside). Inside the room behind this, you'll find a small footlocker containing the Chemicals we require.
Looting this will have Lara do a bit of chemistry work right then and there. It will also update your objectives.
Note: At this point you'll earn the achievement/trophy ‘Amateur Chemist'.
As soon as you regain control, you'll be attacked by a group of Trinity soldiers who will have appeared in the Copper Mill area. Run up to the door frame and take cover here. There are six enemies in total that have shown up and they'll immediately open fire on you when you poke your head outside. You can find them in the following locations:
- Two Trinity soldiers will be in cover on the platform we just jumped across from.
- One Trinity Soldier will be high up on the rooftop to the left.
- Three Trinity Soldiers will be down in the small area with the train and pickup truck by the gate leading to the Base Camp.
Fortunately, the room that we are trapped in has a doorframe that will allow you to take out the two enemies in cover ahead and the soldier on the roof to the left quite comfortably, whilst the window here also overlooks the area leading to the Base Camp below. Kill as many enemies as you can from range from the room here before venturing out to mop up any survivors.
When the coast is clear, return to the ‘Copper Mill yard' base Camp and fast travel back to the ‘Wicked Vale' Base Camp.
Climb the stairs beside the camp fire once again and squeeze through the crack in the wall at the top. This time around, the trippy-ness won't kick in, so follow the set route through the initial area until you reach the forest.
As you arrive, you'll be able to go left or right. Head to the left first and follow the path until you reach a dead end. Here you'll find a Document [07/21 - Russian] lying in the snow. Backtrack to the entrance and this time take the right hand path. As it turns around a group of trees in the centre, you'll come across a Survival Cache [01/06].
Work your way over to the objective marker and as you pass the stacks of crates, look for a Document [08/21] on top of one on the left. Continue through the crack in the wall just behind these.
Follow the snowy path down the slope to the right. Look behind the tree at the switchback to find a Survival Cache [02/06]. Keep moving until you reach a wooden platform overlooking the dry riverbed we fought the wolves in earlier.
Drop down to the riverbed and immediately look to the left to find a Document [09/21 - Russian] in the nearby corner. You should also loot the wolves you killed earlier (if you want to of course). Pull down the pair of rope barriers on either side of the area to reveal a pair of scalable walls.
Climb up the wall opposite our entry point to continue.
As soon as you reach the top of the wall, look on the crates to the left to find a Document [10/21].
Note: For collecting 10/21 Documents in the Wicked Vale you'll will unlock the achievement/trophy ‘Season of the Witch'.
Now let's inspect the room. Hop into the water and examine the crack in the wall on the far, right side of the area to find a small tunnel leading to a platform with a Document [11/21 - Greek]. Return back outside and back to the entrance to get down to business.
With the cliff we climbed up to our back, check out the environmental objects ahead. Directly in front of you there is a rope spool with a lever mechanism on the side. Beside this there is a Rope pillar. On the opposite side of the water ahead you'll see a pair of platforms and above these a second rope spool which will control the platforms movements.
Stand behind the rope spool closest to the entrance and shoot the second rope spool above the platforms with a Rope Arrow to connect them. Move to the side and use your pickaxe on the lever mechanism to rotate the spools so that the right hand platform is higher than the left. When it is in position, quickly detach from the lever, move to the rope pillar nearby and shoot the rope spool above the platforms once again. This will anchor them in place.
Make your way over to the hanging platforms we just manipulated and use them to access the upper ledge in the far right corner from our initial entry point. There is a third rope spool here. Before playing with this, climb over the wall beside the rope spool to find a small platform containing a Document [12/21].
Return to the third rope spool and stand behind it. From here, if you look directly across the room you should be able to make out yet another rope spool through a gap. Shoot a Rope Arrow to connect the two. This will allow us to manipulate another platform located on the opposite wall, but there's no point doing it just yet.
Instead, drop down into the water below and approach the first rope spool. Cut the rope anchoring it to the rope pillar here to return the platforms to their original positions. Use the pair of spools to reposition the platforms so that they are more or less in line with one another and anchor them in place using the rope pillar once again.
Move onto the raised platform in the centre of the water and jump to the rope connecting the third and fourth rope spools. Climb it up to the upper ledge on the right.
Use the wheel mechanism on the side of the rope spool here to raise the platform opposite to its highest level. Release the mechanism when the platform is in position and use the hanging platforms to our right to access the ledge opposite. Quickly run over to the raised platform before it falls and from here jump and scramble up to the ledge above it.
Follow this platform to the end and you'll find a rope lever surrounded by burning torches.
Note: Throughout this next part of the region, there is an area challenge 'Over the Cuckoo's Nest'. This requires us to find and destroy Hanging Lanterns located around the area. They are listed in the guide below, but you'll want to keep your eyes peeled as they can be quite difficult to spot!
From this platform, with the lever at your back look to the right to spot a Hanging Lantern [Over the Cuckoo's Nest 01/10] dangling below some metal scaffolding. There is a second Hanging Lantern [Over the Cuckoo's Nest 02/10] to the left below a stone archway in the distance and a third Hanging Lantern [Over the Cuckoo's Nest 03/10] hanging from some wooden beams above the second.
Shoot the lever with a Rope Arrow to trigger a cut-scene.
Following the cut-scene, hop aboard the gondola and shoot the roped up lever once again to have the gondola start moving back the way it came.
Note: At this point you'll earn the achievement/trophy ‘Last Ride of the Witch House'.
Note: During the gondola crossing, you'll be able to earn an achievement/trophy ‘Henny Penny' for jumping from the gondola and killing Lara.
Once the ride starts moving move to the front. As the gondola navigates its way along its set route, you'll be able to shoot some additional Hanging Lanterns for the ‘Over the Cuckoo's Nest' area challenge. They can be found in the following locations:
- After crossing the first wall, there is a second stone archway ahead. The Hanging Lantern [Over the Cuckoo's Nest 04/10] is below this.
- Another Hanging Lantern [Over the Cuckoo's Nest 05/10] can be found on the wall above and slightly to the right of the stone archway described above.
- The next Hanging Lantern [Over the Cuckoo's Nest 06/10] is in a small wooden cradle below the waterwheel ahead.
- The next seventh and eighth Hanging Lanterns [Over the Cuckoo's Nest 07/10 and 08/10] are located beneath large stone archways on either side (left and right) of the main route of the gondola around halfway across.
- The ninth Hanging Lantern [Over the Cuckoo's Nest 09/10] is hanging below the platform that the gondola docks at the far end of the valley.
- The final Hanging Lantern [Over the Cuckoo's Nest 10/10] is actually back near the start. Once the gondola has parked on the far side of the valley, look back towards where we came and find the water wheel in the distance. You should be able to make out the glow of the Hanging Lantern hanging from the scaffolding just to its left.
Note: For destroying all 10 Hanging Lanterns you'll earn the achievement/trophy ‘Vasilia's Lanterns'.
Once you have arrived via gondola on the far side of the valley, don't dismount just yet. Instead, look for the nearby waterfall – you should be able to spot some torches behind it. Run and jump through the water to find a small, hidden room containing a Document [13/21 - Greek].
Hop off the gondola and climb the wooden ramp to the right. At the top, hop onto the section of ground overlooking the gondola to find a Survival Cache [03/06].
Continue to follow the set path until a cut-scene triggers.
Following the scene, you'll unlock a brand new Base Camp ‘Witch's Cave'. You can use the Base Camp here to apply any upgrades you require and spend any skill points you have. Exit the Base Camp menu when you are ready to continue.
Before entering the cave, look on the crates behind the camp fire to find a Document [14/21 – Russian]. Upon entering the cave, the first room you come across has another Document [15/21] on the table here and Ammo strewn everywhere. It's a good idea to stock up, we'll be needing it very shortly.
Climb down the stairs here and before long you'll be deposited in a pool of water below. Swim until you reach a large room with a platform you can climb up on. Do so for a scene.
As soon as the scene finishes you'll find yourself in a boss fight.
This fight looks and feels tricky at first but is actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it. It is similar to the fight with the helicopter near the end of the main game as your main adversary is a flying enemy who will throw fiery projectiles at you and occasionally she'll summon zombie warriors to attack you. Fortunately, if you shoot the witch, she'll duck down for a few seconds, giving you some breathing room before she starts raining fire again.
The witch sits on a hovering platform with a roped up section at the bottom. Around the room there is a pair of vats seeping gas with trigger levers top open them up with explosive results and spinning rope spools behind them. Remember the puzzle we solved earlier using these exact same elements? Well we pretty much need to replicate it here whilst dodging fireballs!
To damage the Witch, we'll need to stand by a rope spool and shoot her flying platform with a Rope Arrow to connect them. The spinning spool will draw her towards the vat. As she approaches, hit the trigger mechanism to unleash an explosive blast which will hurt her. The Witch will be able to cut herself loose if she hits the rope she's connected to too much, so be sure to shoot her to have her hide as she approaches the vat and hit the lever before as soon as she's in range to avoid having to repeat the process. We'll need to do this twice to complete the first part of the encounter.
The two vats that we need to utilize are slightly different, one has the trigger lever by its side, whilst the second trigger lever is on an adjacent platform but the tactic remains the same for both. From experience, I found it easier to start with the vat with the separated lever first and then the close up lever second.
The enemies that the Witch summons during the fight usually come in groups of three, featuring two ranged and a single melee attacker. As you need to focus on your aim and timing when damaging the witch, you'll want to drop what you are doing and immediately focus on getting the additional enemies down as quickly as possible when they appear before refocusing your attention on the boss.
After damaging her twice, it feels much less like a boss fight and more a platforming and third-person shooter with the occasional attack on the Witch using vats thrown in for good measure. The water level in the room will rise. Quickly swim over to the nearby ledge we can climb up onto. Grab the basket of Herbs and the Ammo if required before climbing up to the platform on the left.
At the top you'll be attacked by a wolf and two ranged attackers. Get the wolf down ASAP before killing the two bowmen. This area provides two options; we can climb up to the upper level or go through the doorway to the left for some Ammo and Herbs before taking a ladder up. Either way, we'll reach another vat/spool/lever mechanism. Kill the three ranged attackers and the melee fellow before using your usual tactic to damage the witch.
After damaging the Witch, slide down the zip line to the right to reach the platform below. Kill the melee attacker that charges you as you land.
Enter the passage that the enemy emerged from and use the pair of scalable walls located inside to reach the next platform above. As Lara pulls herself up, head to the right and scramble up to the next ledge. You'll probably get knocked down on the first attempt – if so simply climb up again.
Interact with the valve on the pipe to the left, near the edge of the cliff. This will trigger a little transformation in the room. Large floating platforms will appear and start rotating in a clockwise pattern. Hop on one of these and ride it to the second platform on the left (pretty much directly opposite where we hopped on the platform).
Kill the ranged attacker here and use the piece of cover to eliminate another pair of archers on the platform above. When it is clear, note the pair of hanging platforms against the wall here – we'll need to utilize these to reach the next ledge above. Jump on the first one to have it lower and the second one rise slightly. When they are in a good position for reaching the far ledge, jump to the second and then jump over and scramble up the wall behind it to climb up.
On this platform, you'll encounter one final melee attacker to dispatch and yet another vat/spool/lever mechanism. The lever mechanism for this vat is on the wooden walkway below and to the left of the vat. Use the usual method to damage the witch again at this point.
Once you have expended the vat, use your Rope Arrows to remove the wooden blockage to the left of the lever and follow the passage to the end. Interact with the valve here to spawn additional level of floating platforms near the top of the room. Doing this will of course also trigger enemies to spawn on a platform across the room. This platform is where we need to go to continue.
Use the floating platforms to reach their position and fight them off. There are four archers and two melee fighters here. Climb up the walls at the back of the room to reach the walkway above. Follow it into the centre of the room.
Here we'll be able to jump to the upper level of floating platforms. Ride these around to the balcony opposite, whilst using the cover to take out the pair of Archers as you go. Hop up to the walkway the Archers were defending and prepare for a fight. There are a large number of Archers and melee attackers here along with several Wolves. If you have any Grenade/Poison Arrows on you, this is the time to use them.
Once you have cleared the platform, you'll find one final vat/spool/lever mechanism at the far end. You should be familiar with what you need to do at this point. So use the usual method to damage the Witch one final time. Note that you'll need to shoot the Witch several times as the rope spool pulls her in this time around, a prospect which is made trickier by all of the flying debris.
Successfully damaging her at this point will trigger a cut-scene.
Note: At this point you'll earn the achievement/trophy ‘Truth Behind the Myth'.
Note: For defeating the Witch, you'll be rewarded with a new Bow – Dreamstinger.
Note: For defeating the Witch, you'll be rewarded with a new Outfit - Wraithskin.
When you regain control of Lara, you'll be back in the ‘real' world, which means collectibles will show up again and we'll be able to explore the large room where we just fought the Witch. We'll be back in the first room of the cave just following the ‘Witch's cave' Base Camp.
To begin with, return to the Base Camp and equip your new Bow – Dreamstinger and Outfit – Wraithskin to earn yourself an easy achievement/trophy.
Note: For equipping both the Dreamstinger and Wraithskin Outfit, you'll earn the achievement/trophy ‘Witch's Wardrobe'.
Return into the Witch's cave and speak with Nadia to unlock another quick and easy achievement/trophy.
Note: For speaking with Nadia after defeating the Witch you'll earn the achievement/trophy ‘Fond Farewell'.
Climb down the stairs behind Nadia to enter the cave once again. Swim along the passage here and keep your eyes on the left wall to find a small side-room. Inside you'll find a Document [16/21 - Greek] on a small altar.
Return to the room with Nadia and you should notice that there is now an accessible set of stairs leading upwards. Climb to the top of these and as you enter the room at the top, look on the floor to the right for a Document [17/21 - Russian]. On a carpet just left of the exit on the far side of the room is a chest containing a Relic [01/01 – Baba Yaga's Broom].
Head out the other door and jump into the water. Swim over to the floating wooden pallet and use it to climb up to the platform above. Find the door here leading into a cave-type area. At the far left end of the room you'll find a Survival Cache [04/06] and on the far right, an Explorer's Satchel.
Return to the main room and follow the walkway to the right and remove the Rope covered barricade at the end. Jump across to the next platform and look beneath the hanging platforms to find a Survival Cache [05/06].
Jump back down to the previous platform, run back past the cave we just looted and continue to the far end. Use your Rope Arrows to remove the blockage. Enter the passage on the left and use the pair of scalable walls located inside to reach the next platform above. At the top, look for the hanging beam and use Lara's grapple axes to swing to the far side. There is a Document [18/21 - Greek] here.
Swing back across the gap and climb the wall to the right. At the top, there is a barred gate to the right. There is a small platform behind this holding a Document [19/21 - Russian]. Hop on one of the hanging platforms and ride it around until you can jump into the small room for the pickup.
Jump back out onto one of the hanging platforms and use it to reach the platform with the vat on it. High up on the wall behind the vat is an opening that we can climb up to. Inside there is a Document [20/21 – Russian]. Drop back down to the vat area.
Take another hanging platform and ride it to the direct, opposite side of the room and hop off. Scramble up the wall at the left hand end to reach a second vat. Behind this is a spinning rope spool. Stand next to this and look ahead to spot a second rope spool on a platform high above. Shoot this to attach a Rope Arrow and temporarily raise a hanging platform which will allow us to jump across to a platform containing the final Document [21/21 - Russian]. Unfortunately, reaching said platform can be a little tricky as the timing is very tight so you'll need to pretty much flawlessly sprint and jump your way across two sets of hanging platforms until you reach the platform with the first vat, then climb the ramp at the back of this platform to the top before you can jump to the newly raised platform and then from there across to the platform with the collectible. It's definitely doable, but don't be disheartened if you can't do it right away - it's going to take you a couple of tries to get the route and the timing down.
Note: For collecting all 21 Documents in the Wicked Vale, you'll earn the achievement/trophy ‘Complete History of Witchcraft'.
The final two collectibles in this area can be found on the upper level. Climb to the top of the room via the ramp by the first vat platform and use the hanging platforms to reach the opposite side. On this balcony are there is the final vat we used to defeat the Witch. On the wall behind this is an opening we can climb up to with the final Survival Cache [06/06] inside.
Note: For finding all six Survival Caches in the Wicked Vale, you'll earn the achievement/trophy ‘The Witch Bottles'.
Drop back down to the main platform and find the doorway next to the vat. Drop down to the lower level inside to find an Archivist's Map. Use your rope Arrows to pull down the blockage here and return to the entrance to the cave.
Before leaving the area, head back to the gondola and ride it back to the far side of the valley for an easy achievement/trophy.
Note: For riding the gondola back to the first area, you'll earn the achievement/trophy ‘Why the Chicken Crossed the Vale'.
At this point we are pretty much done with the DLC. So head back to your nearest Base Camp to fast travel out of there!

|Truth Behind the Myth||Complete the 'Defeating the Witch' mission.|
These four achievements/trophies are tied into collecting a number of different items throughout the DLC's brand new region - The Wicked Vale. These collectibles mirror those in the base game and include: Relics, Documents and Survival Caches. There is also another area-specific challenge to complete to earn an achievement/trophy. Note every collectible and area challenge item location is obtainable before the end of DLC, but you are free to explore following the final mission so there is no need to worry about missing anything! By following the walkthrough above, you'll have everything necessary for 100% completion.
These are the collectible achievements/trophies in Rise of the Tomb Raider:
|The Witch Bottles||Collect all six Survival Caches in the Wicked Vale.|
|Season of the Witch||Collect 10/21 Documents in the Wicked Vale.|
|Complete History of Witchcraft||Collect all 21 Documents in the Wicked Vale.|
|Vasilisa's Lanterns||Complete the 'Over the Cuckoo's Nest' area challenge in the Wicked Vale.|
Note: The 'Season of the Witch' achievement/trophy does not appear in the Xbox360 version of the game.
As with the base game, Expedition Mode focuses on replaying segments of the campaign whilst attempting to earn medals for reaching benchmark high scores and challenge the world with the global leader boards. It features additional challenges which you can undertake to make things more interesting as well as collect and utilise hundreds of Expedition Cards which can be activate to modify the game in a variety of ways. There are three Baba Yaga DLC achievements/trophies tied into this game mode and they revolve around attempting the two new DLC missions and earning a specific numbers of medals.
|Witchcraft for Beginners||Attempt a Wicked Vale level in score attack.|
|Witch-Hunt||Earn a gold medal on a Wicked Vale level in score attack.|
|Witch Trials||Earn a gold medal in both Wicked Vale levels in score attack.|
Note: The 'Witch-Hunt' achievement/trophy does not appear in the Xbox360 version of the game.
In addition to the platforming and occasional spell of problem solving, The Baba Yaga DLC, much like the base game in Rise of the Tomb Raider also has a fairly big focus on it's combat system. As this is the case, there are quite a few achievements/trophies tied into unlocking and playing around with the game's various weapons and techniques. In the case of Baba Yaga, there is a more specific, obvious focus on utilising the new equipment: the Dreamstinger Bow and the Wraithskin Outfit that Lara obtains upon completing the final mission of the DLC.
Below you'll find the achievements/trophies tied into this portion of the DLC and how to unlock each of them.
Description: Equip the Dreamstinger and Wraithskin outfit together.
As soon as you complete the final mission of the DLC, Lara will be granted both new pieces of gear. Simply visit the nearest Base Camp and equip both the Wraithskin Outfit and the Dreamstinger Bow to instantly unlock this achievement/trophy.
Note: The 'Witch's Wardrobe' achievement/trophy does not appear in the Xbox360 version of the game.
Description: Confuse one enemy and 10 enemies total with the Dreamstinger.
The cool thing about the Dreamstinger Bow is that it will replace your standard Poison Arrows with a pollen-based poison which will cause confusion. Using this on an enemy will have the effect of basically enraging them and they'll go ahead and attack anything in the nearby area, most likely other enemies. You'll need to use this ability once to unlock the 'Servant of the Witch' achievement/trophy and have a cumulative 10 enemies affected by the Dreamstinger arrows to earn the 'Bravo's Legacy' achievement/trophy.
Description: Confuse 3 enemies with one shot from the Dreamstinger.
This achievement/trophy is a little trickier than the others as the cloud generated by the Dreamstinger Arrows is not quite as large as those created by the standard Poison Arrows so you'll need to fire at a group of enemies in close proximity. Fortunately, Expedition mode has us covered with an easy method for achieving this one. To set this up, you'll firstly want to select 'The Tower' level. Choose the Dreamstinger Card and Wraithskin Outfit Card so that you have your new items available.
Play through the level until you reach the final fight at the end - you'll know when you are here as Lara will need to crawl beneath the door to enter. As soon as you regain control of Lara you'll see three enemies in the room ahead. Wait for all three to come close together and shoot a Dreamstinger Arrow at the floor between them. This will unlock the 'Persuasive Argument' achievement/trophy.
Note: The 'Persuasive Argument' achievement/trophy does not appear in the Xbox360 version of the game.
Description: Kill cumulative totals of 10 and 50 enemies whilst wearing the Wraithskin outfit.
After completing the DLC's main campaign missions you'll be rewarded with this outfit. Head to a nearby Base Camp and equip it right away. We'll then need to meet the kill targets of 10 and 50 whilst wearing the outfit in order to unlock both achievements/trophies.
It should be noted that although you can fast travel around looking for patrols in the main game, it is also possible to earn this one in Expedition Mode. To set this up, you'll firstly want to select a level with a lot of enemies such as 'The Acropolis' or 'The Tower' (or any level really if you are aiming for gold medals still). Then make sure that you select to use the Wraithskin Outfit Card so that you have your new outfit during said Expedition. Simply rack up 50 kills across your endeavours to have the achievements/trophies unlock.
Note: The 'Demon in the Dark' achievement/trophy does not appear in the Xbox360 version of the game.
These final three achievements/trophies are related to the completion of some simple in-game tasks that can only be found in the Wicked Vale. They are not particularly difficult, but they can be easy to miss if you don't know what you are looking for. Fortunately, you'll be back in free-roam once you have completed the DLC's main storyline so you'll be able to travel back and complete them at any point afterwards.
Below you'll find a list of the miscellaneous achievements/trophies and how to unlock each of them:
|Fond Farewell||After completing the main storyline, speak to Nadia in the Witch's Cave to unlock the achievement/trophy.|
|Henny Penny||Whilst riding the gondola, simply have Lara jump to her death to unlock this one.|
|Why the Chicken Crossed the Vale||Once the gondola is on the Witch's Cave side of the valley, ride it back to its original location to earn the achievement/trophy.|
Note: The 'Why the Chicken Crossed the Vale' and the 'Henny Penny' achievements/trophies do not appear in the Xbox360 version of the game.
