The game Burnout Revenge is dedicated to Dr Rabin Ezra, who wrote the Renderware Game Engine used by the Burnout series.

The games predecessor, Burnout 3: Takedown had 'hard stop areas' which were more suited for fighting and taking down other drivers. These areas also forced players to slow their vehicle in an effort to least likely to crash into obstacles and walls unlike fast drivers who were more likely going to crash.
The development and track designers for Burnout Revenge were inspired by these areas from Burnout 3: Takedown and added much more of these 'hard stop areas' to make Burnout Revenge more battle oriented for the player to battle and perform takedowns then the previous game.
