Rocket Launchers & Voodoo Zombies
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition for the Nintendo Wii console is quite possibly the most amazing action game ever developed. With updated controls and graphics this is the version of Resident Evil 4 that everyone has been waiting for.
Even though this game is a port from 2005, the graphics are still so amazing. The enemies, characters, and backgrounds are beautifully and realistically detailed. Theres not much else to say about the graphics, theyre just perfect in every way.
Now this is where Resident Evil 4 gets all its hype from. The gameplay itself. Resident Evil 4 takes the Survival Horror genre to a whole new level with an intense style caked with action. One will feel panicked when they have a trail of enemies cornering them in every direction trying to impale their bodies with an array of bizarre weapons. The action never stops, and will have you sitting on the edge of your seat as you blast your way through some pretty epic battles.
Having a wide variety of creepy enemies just isnt enough. As you play, a wide variety of differently-pitched tones of breathes and whines swirl around the speakers of the TV, setting a disturbing mood throughout the game. Its not truly music, but it sure makes everything a lot more frightening.
As for sounds, they did an excellent job mastering the Foley of the rings and sputters of the gunshots, the clamping of shoes against tile, and the moans and the screams of enemies chasing after you.
As most Resident Evil fans know, the story to this game is a tad different from the rest of the games in the franchise. You play as an agent named Leon who has to rescue the Presidents daughter from an infected clan in the middle of nowhere. Being completely different from the rest of the Resident Evil stories and the infamous Umbrella Corporation, Resident Evil 4 portrays a very ingenious, creative, out-of-the-ordinary tale.
Length & Replay-ability: 10/10
The length of this game isnt very long. A couple of weeks at the most. But like all other Resident Evil games, there are a ton of extras and different ways of playing the game, its hard to believe someone could finish this game once and say, Okay, Im done.
Overall, this game is definitely a must have in any Wii owners library, even if it is a two-year-old port. The Wiis creative controls give the game a whole new experience, and is by far the best version of the game.
