I did a Wonder Trade in Pokemon Home and the Pokemon I got has no ability. How?

  1. It was a Weedle. Says it came from Kanto. How come it doesn't have an ability?

  1. Most likely because it came from Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee and not Sword/Shield. When you move it to Galar it will get its ability, and lose the ability to return to Kanto. Until then, if you have LGPE, you can send it there instead.

  2. Home says it can't be sent to Sw/Sh or LGPE. I have others that are the same, though some came from PoGo. What am I supposed to do with them?

  3. That's because Weedle can't be moved to the Galar games, as the line is not in their Dex; you'll have to wait until a new game has them programmed in and then you'll be able to transfer them in and their Ability will appear.

Although you should technically be able to re-move it to LGPE again, so idk what's going on, there:

  4. Maybe it came from a game other than LGPE, and therefore it might have Moves LGPE doesn't have programmed in? Or there's some other discrepancy, there.

Either way, you should be able to move it to BDSP, when they release and Home connectivity to them is enabled (this will happen sometime in 2022, likely early 2022), so, either way, you shouldn't have to wait too long.

  5. It appears the Weedle without an ability came from LGPE, while the Weedle that can't go to LGPE or SwSh as well as the others that can't are from PoGo.

  6. That makes sense, yeah: Go transfers to LGPE directly, rather than going through Home, while Weedle can't be moved to SS because it's not in any of the Galar Dexes.
