Can a child remember an egg move from the parent?

  1. Say a parent replaces one of its egg moves with some random move like surf or something. Would any child pokemon afterwards still inherit that replaced egg move? via move reminder or in its default birth moveset?

Accepted Answer

  1. No. A parent must know an Egg Move to pass it down.

  1. No. However, moves can now be passed between Pokemon of the same species in the daycare, so if you have one Pokemon with egg moves and another without, all you need to do is clear some empty move slots in the Pokemon you want to learn egg moves, and the moves will be passed between the two after you bike around a bit. This ONLY works for Pokemon of the same species, though. Even different evolutionary stages will not inherit moves. Ie. Rillaboom cannot pass moves to Thwackey, but it could pass them to another Rillaboom.
