  1. How to decide what types of candies use on what pokemon ? based on stats they give ?

  1. Pokémon candies are fairly simple.

You can only use up to 300 candy on your whole party of Pokémon. This would mean that you can only use 50 candies on one Pokémon. Candy is good for when you are playing through the story.

Regular candy raises your Pokémon's stats by 50 (if your are planning on using 50 candies on a Pokémon.)

Some candies are large or even extra large, and your Pokémon need to be a certain level to consume these. Large candies raise your Pokémon's stats by 100 and extra large candies raise your Pokémon's stats by 200 (again, this only applies to you if you use 50 candies on a Pokémon.)

Some candies are specific to one Pokémon and raise said Pokemon's stats by one when given to them. These candies will be called, "magikarp candy," "squirtle candy," ect. These candies are obtained by having a catch combo on a specific pokemon. For example, if you were to catch Vulpix, you would get Vulpix candy. Once you have a catch combo of 100 or so, you will probably have about 50 of these candies.

If you want your Pokémon to be overpowered during the storyline, I would reccomend this using the candies I just talked about. However, the process of getting these candies is very lengthy and requires many Pokéballs.

If you don't care about stats at this point in the game, here is how you could get your stats up if you wait till the end:

At the end of the game, once you get your Pokémon to level 100 (if you decide to,) your Pokémon will be able to use hyper training which will max out one of your Pokémon's stats in exchange for a bottle cap. Talk to the man at the Pokémon daycare south of Cerulean City and he will ask you if you want to hyper train your Pokémon (you need to beat the elite 4.) You can get bottle caps by battling Mina at the dock near Vermillion City (note that you must have defeated the elite 4 before battling her and you can only battle her once a day.) You can also find bottle caps on the floor at the Celadon City Game Center. Although, they are very rare to find here.

If you give the hyper trainer a gold bottle cap, the Pokémon will have all of its stats maxed out. You can find these on the floor of the Game Center. However, like the regular bottle caps, they are also very rare to find.

I have been referring to the stat system as just "stats" because they aren't really EVs like in the other main-series Pokémon games. The fan base refers to the new stats as AVs (awakening stats.)

You could really go about anyway of using candies. Personally, the only thing I'd really use candies for is if you are trying to fight a master trainer (post-game feature) with a pre-evolved pokemon. This is so because if I get said Pokémon to level 100 and get its AVs up using hyper training, I will not be able to evolve the Pokémon to fight its evolved form's master trainer. Using the power of AVs, you can wipe out a level 75 Pokémon even if you are low leveled.

    I hope this helps!! ;)
