Introduction

This guide is a rough draft work-in-progress. I will update it as quickly as I can, but in the meantime, feel free to PM me if you need any help. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Harvest Moon: Light of Hope is the first console Harvest Moon since Animal Parade, and the fourth title internally developed by Natsume. For many years prior, Harvest Moon games were published in Japan as Bokujou Monogatari (lit. "Ranch Story"). After being published in Japan, the games were licensed to Natsume, who translated and released them under the name Harvest Moon. This changed when Marvelous AQL, the third company to own the rights to the Bokujou Monogatari IP, decided to sever ties with Natsume and begin publishing the games themselves under the name Story of Seasons. These games are made by a different development team than beloved classics such as Friends of Mineral Town, as series creator Yasuhiro Wada and many others left Marvelous after Animal Parade. Left with the Harvest Moon trademark, Natsume decided to use their many years of experience to develop their own farming series under the same name. These games are designed to be reminiscent of older Harvest Moon titles while also striving to innovate in creative new ways.

Bringer of Light, Bringer of Hope

After a sudden violent storm, your character finds themselves shipwrecked and stranded in the ruins of a small island town. This town, called Beacon Town, had a guardian once upon a time, who dwelt in the Lighthouse and brought prosperity to all. But its light has since gone out, and now much of the island lies in ruin. Most inhabitants have long since fled the destruction, and those who remain despair for the island's future. Can one plucky newcomer unravel the mysteries behind its downfall and rebuild the town to its former glory?
