In the NSO Expansion Pack family plan, does every account have to be on the same console?

  1. I have a Switch and I know three IRL friends who also have Switches. If we were to each chip in and each pay $20 for the Expansion Pack family plan, would we all be able to use the Expansion Pack features on our four Switches? MoneyMan1002 - 1 month ago

  1. No, you do not all need to be on the same Switch. The way the online membership works is whatever Switch your Nintendo Account is signed in on will give you access to all the benefits of the online membership on that Switch for the profile connected to your Nintendo Account at the very least.

The family plan works the exact same way. The only difference is that this plan affects up to 8 people rather then 1 person. But everyone who is added to the family plan will still be able receive the same benefits as the regular plan.

So if you and 3 others want to split a family plan then you can do so and you will still be able to play on all your respective Switches.

Whether this will also apply to the Expansion Pass version, not 100% sure as it isn't out yet but there isn't any reason to think it won't work like the other passes so far.
