The first of the great graphichal RPG of Dragon Ball!
Dragonball, ahhh dragonball, one of the best anime known in America. But the bad thing is, only 2 (YES 2) Dragonball games EVER came out in america, the first is being Dragonball for NES, which was named Dragon Power, and a whole new storyline for some reason, and Dragon Ball GT Final Boute. Well, this game is based around the beginning of Goku's life on DB, and ending to where DB ended, when he was fighting Piccolo-Daimao (Piccolo's dad). The gameplay is quite bad though, as you have to wait until you are in the right position to do a super move, even to which, is hard to find, since there is a lot of Super moves, so unless you have a booklet (which unfortuneatly, I don't have), you'll be stuck, or have one hell of a time with fights. The controls are also a little bad, as you have to hit what button to use, not to mention that it IS a real time, so you can not just sit there and charge up, as the enemy will go for you. Its buttons are "Y"= Dash into opponent, "X"= Punch Opponent, "A"= Special Move, which is pretty weak until you figure out the "Kamahameha", which I still didn't figure out. Also, another thing is that since its in Japanese, you will have to get a guide if you want the good ending, every so often, you have a choice between 2-3 choices, the wrong answer won't get you a game over, rather than not getting the best ending... so this makes up for re-play value. The only way to get the right answers is that you pick the one that happened in the manga (comics), so its pretty tied in with the series, so if you know the series well, you'll be in good luck. The graphics is what makes the score jump from a 4 to a 6, mainly because the great detail used in battles. I really can't say if this is good for your money or not, but if you love the Dragon Ball series, then it is the right game for you, as it was aimed for the ones that watch the series!!
Rating: 3.0 - Fair
