Walkthrough (Continued)

B4F

Hug right for a Trish's Spring, a SAMAKAJA CARD to the right of an elevator to B1F (in case you need to leave), a BUFULA CARD, and the stairs to B5F.

Reminder

IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE YOU GET THE SAMAKAJA CARD ON B4F. IT MAKES A DIFFICULT PART COMING UP LATER A LOT EASIER. DON'T WASTE IT.

B5F

Hug left for an ESTOMA CARD, then a room with a scene.

Continue past two chests with BEAD x3 and MIRACLE EGG x3, then enter the next room for another scene.

Continue past a chest with a Yaksa battle, then take the stairs down.

I would save now, just because the Sharf Shutze enemies on B6F have an annoying attack that often KOs a party member. Since you can't contact them, it's possible to lose a battle quickly if they get lucky. Revival Beads help when battling them.

B6F

Hug the right wall to find four chests, one in each corner (ACHILLES BOOTS, AG CARD, ACHILLES ARMOR, SP INCENSE). I gave Tatsuya all the Achilles equipment. Heal and save before entering the final room.

Reminder

If Nezha hasn't learned Tackle yet, fight enemies until it reaches rank 6. Dashing Strike (Zio + Tackle) is very helpful for the rest of the game, starting now. Sif's Tetraja is also very useful, which is why we make Sif our designated Zio user.

When you're ready, go on in for a scene and a battle.

The boss uses a lot of status effects, so have Tatsuya and Maya use items to heal if necessary. Panic can't be cured.

Tatsuya's first move should be to cast Tarukaja on Michel. Then, use Dashing Strike twice to beat the boss. If it's doing less than 1500 damage after Tarukaja, you have a weak weapon on Michel.

26880 EXP should gain your party a level or two, fully healing them.

Tatsuya should start with Tarukaja on Michel. The boss uses two light attacks that affect the whole party, so Tetraja will be very useful: Hamaon is an instant kill, and Alpha Blaster halves the party's HP at the beginning of each round (Tetraja will even nullify this effect if you already got hit). Three Dashing Strikes should be all it takes, at a little over 1500 damage each. If you don't have Yukino, have Ginko use Tetraja, and only attack with Dashing Strike when you already have the barrier.

At this point, you'll get the following Personas if you collected the masks in Mt. Iwato.

TatsuyaApollo
MayaArtemis
GinkoVenus

They're pretty powerful, but very expensive.

Now's a good time for some shopping before the final stretch.

After Caracol (Upgrades)

Max out your Chewing Souls, then buy as much armor from Kounan's London Clothier and Aoba's Rosa Candida as you can afford (Tatsuya is still good with the Achilles equipment, and Jun comes with good enough equipment). If you have lots of cash to spare, buy accessories from the other shops (Demand Guards from Aoba's Rosa Candida are excellent and I'll ask you to get them later anyway).

Now for the Velvet Room. Abe No Seimei (LV 41 Magician x164) is a good replacement for Agrippa, and Manannan (LV 49 Magician x196) learns Malaquadyne, which will give you access to the fusion spell Tidal Wave (Water-Almighty-Malaquadyne) when combined with Maia Prime's Malaques and Agrippa's Zanma or Abe No Seimei's Grydyne.

You can also get a group contact from talking to Michel in the Velvet Room. Talk to him once, then leave and reenter. Talk to him again and answer the 1st choice, "I can play guitar." for a group contact between Tatsuya, Michel, and the new party member.

Room 5 in 1F of the Abandoned Factory in Kounan is open now if you need to get cards. Be careful there because Picollus can use Hula of Misfortune to halve your money (contact it right away to prevent this).

The Four Zodiac Temples

Now you have to go to four temples. They can be cleared in any order, but the layout changes depending on which temples have been cleared, so follow the order in this walkthrough so the directions will make sense.

Aquarius TempleHirasakaWindJun: Hermes

Equipping the listed Persona before fighting the boss of each temple will cause that Persona to get an upgrade. Hermes gains the ability to mutate to Chronos at the Velvet Room, and the others lose weaknesses.

Reminder

At this point, my Tatsuya reached 99 Dx. After that, when he levels up try to maintain a 1:1 Vt:Ag ratio, so his Vt equals his Ag.

First, let's head to Kounan for the Taurus Temple.

Have Tatsuya cast Tarukaja on Jun to boost his ATK. The boss can be annoying. Dark Verdict deals instant death (heal with Revival Beads), Dark Malaques deals charm (use an Energy Drink item to cure), and Bloody Divorce deals panic (can't be cured, just wait it out). You only need three or four boosted Dashing Strikes to end this, so just keep healing until you get lucky.

That's it for the four temples. Now for some Persona upgrades.

Before Xibalba (Upgrades)

We're getting new Personas with those 178 Fortune cards and 165 free cards. If you don't have the cards, try room 5 in the Abandoned Factory in Kounan for free cards. Jun also needs to be LV 50 to access the Personas, so if he's not LV 50 yet first beat up some enemies in Seven Sisters High (Rengedai).

Head to the Velvet Room and make this setup. You can put Fjalar and Vesta in the Velvet Stock to make room. We're making Cerberus and Hathor. Put the Samakaja Card on Cerberus, and use any stat boost cards if you have those.

IMPORTANT: I'M SERIOUS ABOUT PUTTING SAMAKAJA ON CERBERUS. AN UPCOMING BOSS WILL BE SIGNIFICANTLY HARDER WITHOUT SAMAKAJA. IF YOU FORGOT, THE BEST RECOURSE IS TO TRAIN Parvati (LV 43 Priestess x129) OR Tsukuyomi (LV 62 Moon x 248).

  • If you don't have Venus, use Maia Prime or the substitute I suggested earlier.
  • Unfortunately, Mediarahan (the best healing spell) is quite hard to come by, so we're stuck with Mediarama unless you score a lucky mutate into Dagda or return Urd (LV 64 Fortune x224) for a Blessing Card, which teaches Mediarahan. Mediarama is good enough to finish the game with the provided strategies even on Hard difficulty.

Let Cerberus use a skill in every battle. It needs to reach rank 8 before the end of the game.

When you're done, buy 99 Chewing Souls and head to Seven Sisters High in Rengedai.

B5F

You can now warp between B5F of Xibalba and room 1-C of Seven Sisters High. Exit the school and let's go shopping.

After Xibalba B5F (Upgrades)

Lotus in Rengedai has the strongest equipment in the game now. Buy 99 Chewing Souls and about 30 Revival Beads (and several Rattle Drinks and status healing items if you don't already have a bunch), the The Finale weapon for Michel from Time Castle, and 4x Demand Guard from Rosa Candida in Aoba (+20 DEF/MDEF for 130000 Yen). Then, buy as much armor from Rosa Candida in Rengedai as you can afford. Keep the Agility Source on Michel still, but the others can switch their old accessories to the defense-boosters. If you don't have enough money for all the equipment, just continue anyway and we'll buy it later.

Your party Personas should include all of the following:

2 Pixie
31 Agrippa
33 Maia Prime
34 Sif
35 Nezha (or both Minotaur and Taranis)
41 Abe No Seimei
49 Manannan
51 Cerberus
51 Artemis
55 Hathor
57 Chronos
57 Venus

Make sure Michel is equipped with The Finale and Agility Source, and your other party members are equipped with the Demand Guard accessory. If you can't afford all four Demand Guards now, buy them after Xibalba B8F.

When you're ready, return to room 1-C in Seven Sisters High and take the teleporter back to Xibalba.

If you really want to, you can skip to the next section (Abandoned Factory) to see how to grind to LV 94 and get the strongest Personas, but it takes 5+ hours and isn't at all necessary to beat the game.

Despite the terrible whipping they can give to your party via status effects and instant death spells, you won't lose this battle easily as long as long as you have a Persona that repels magic (Abe No Seimei and Artemis). Don't bother reviving your party members, but do cure the Charm status effect so they don't hit Jun.

Have Jun and Maya heal with Rattle Drink if needed so they won't die to physical attacks. It's actually a fairly safe bet that if both characters guard the whole time the enemies will Asteroid Bomb themselves to death before they kill Jun and Maya with physicals. Just by sitting there and guarding they'll be able to kill all but Lower Left, which repels all magic. When Lower Left is the only one left, revive your whole party (so they all get EXP) and use Dashing Strike to finish.

The final room is right ahead. Before entering the final room, fight battles until your party members all need less than 63,000 EXP to level up. Then, equip Michel with the Mysterious Armlet accessory and make sure you have Demand Guards on the other four characters. Then, heal and save and enter the final room.

If you get a break from casting Tetraja, cast Tarukaja on Michel to make Dashing Strike even stronger.

The boss's Holy Grail attack makes him invincible for two turns, so heal if he uses it. Holy Ark can deal instant death, so break out the Revival Beads if it hits. Omega Cluster KOs one party member per round, starting from the lowest LV. Tetraja can block Omega Cluster and Holy Ark's KO effect, and can negate Omega Cluster's effect after it has hit. If the boss spears someone, use the Spirit Rib item until the effect is cured. The Holy Lance effect won't wear off normally in this battle, so you need to use the rib to cure it.

If you needed under 63,000 EXP to level up, your party should have gained a level and fully healed, otherwise use Miracle Eggs during the next battle if your SP runs low.

The boss's turns should all be bunched together (if not, set turn order after your first party member attacks so they are). It helps to use the guard trick before you take your first turn (before your last party member's turn, guard with all your characters to reduce damage by 3/4, then press O and reassign orders after the boss attacks). You can use this trick every round if you want to make the boss much easier, but it takes more time.

Once you've done this, the only way the boss can KO you is with Seals Raid (if you equipped defense accessories as suggested, Master 18 will badly damage but not KO a character, and all the elemental spells except Megidolaon will do one-digit damage with Samakaja applied). If Seals Raid KOs anyone, revive with Revival Bead or Balm of Life and recast Samakaja to protect from the boss's spells. If Michel is KO'd, also recast Tarukaja to boost his damage output.

This strategy is effective for taking out the Right Arm quickly.

Just punch your least favorite limbs one by one. My Pegasus Strike was doing 1300 boosted damage, enough to KO one limb in four turns. Michel will take extra damage with Minotaur equipped, so be sure to keep Samakaja on him and do the guard trick. You can use this weakness to your advantage if he gets Panicked by Master 18: just let him die (don't make him guard) and revive him to quickly remove the Panic status.

When the Right Arm is dead, recast Masamakaja, then you can switch to Dashing Strike + God Hand to speed the battle up.

It might take a while to do damage, but the boss won't be able to disable more than two party members per round. Keep going until the limbs are gone.

Once you've defeated the limbs, the battle becomes significantly easier. Just use a Tarukaja-boosted Dashing Strike several times to end it. The boss's damage output is so low at this point that just about anything will beat him as long as you can heal.

You can pick any choices you want during the ending.

That's all for Persona 2: Innocent Sin.

Or do you want a bonus dungeon? Reload the last save from before the final boss and save in a different file (just in case you want a hard fight again after training your party to a high level). Backtrack to the elevator on B8F, take it to B5F, and exit through the terminal to Seven Sisters High. Now head to the Abandoned Factory in Kounan.

You don't need to beat the game to do any of this. Anytime after returning from Xibalba B5F is good.

Abandoned Factory

All six rooms are open now, and you can unlock an extra area with the strongest demons in the game. First, we need to read eleven notes throughout the factory.

Use Estoma (Hathor knows it) if you don't want to fight weaker demons for this part.

Entrance

Read the note (1) across from the entrance, then head S to room 1.

Room 1

Hug right around the perimeter until you reach a note (2) in the SW corner. Read it, then continue past the SE door to find another note (3) on a barrel in a corner. Now enter the SE door.

Room 5

Read the note (4), the take the belt E. Hug right until you reach the "03" door in the NE corner, then go S to read the note (5) on the barrel. Enter the "03" door.

Room 3

Read the note (6) on the crate, then take the belt N. Read the note (7) by the "02" door, then continue W and enter the "03" door to return to the entrance.

Entrance

Head N and enter room 2.

Room 2

Hug left until you get to the SE corner, where you'll find a note (8), then backtrack to the entrance.

Entrance

Now head to the NW and take the stairs to 2F. Enter room 4 from there.

Room 4

Head S and read two notes (9) (10) on the middle and E tables. Return to the entrance and enter room 6.

Room 6

Take the stairs down.

B1F

Hug left and take the belt S. Before taking the second belt down, explore the area to the E for a note (11). Now take the second belt down, then the third. Head W and read the sign outside the door.

That door is locked now, but we can open it by spreading rumors. Fight demons and make pacts with them, then make them happy and choose "Give me information." It may take a while, but eventually, you'll hear a rumor that the switchboard in the office leads to a hidden room. After you hear that rumor, make one more pact demon happy and choose to spread the rumor ("Spread a rumor for me." -> "This dungeon" -> "The office switch opens a hidden door.").

The rumor took me over an hour to get. You can get it from any demon in the factory as long as you read all eleven notes first.

Now return to the entrance and head for the 2F Office (room 4).

Room 4

The switchboard we're looking for is all the way in the SE corner, S of a desk with a note. Examine it to enter a new room.

Executive Suite

Read the note on the desk to trigger a change by the dungeon's entrance. Then, read the note on the desk to the W. Then, talk to the guy in a helmet and choose "Tell him." (1st choice) to get Tatsuya's legendary weapon (if you picked the other choice, you don't get the weapon).

Now return to the entrance on 1F.

Entrance

E of the dungeon entrance, under the note, you'll notice a purple X on the minimap. Walk over it to fall down.

B1F Hidden Room

Examine the locker to fight Alice. You can defeat her easily with Dashing Strike or Low End Breaker (Agrippa's Zanma + Maia Prime's Hama). You get a KARMA RING for winning. Read the note on the floor above the tiny desk, then exit the hidden room and exit through a one-way switchboard to the entrance.

Now, you can hear a second rumor from pact demons in the factory, "The door in the control room that never opens goes to the waste treatment unit." Yes, you have to make pact demons happy and ask for information until you get lucky again. When you finally hear and spread the rumor, head for the previously locked door in the SW corner of room 6 and enter it.

Liquid Waste Disposal

You can fight all the demons from Xibalba B7F-B9F here, and also Fenrir (LV 70) and Alice (LV 80). This is the best place in the game to get EXP, especially if you use Estoma from while Tatsuya is between LV 70 and LV 80 to only fight Alice (it takes a while to find her, though). There's a neat trick to easily get a party member to LV 99 (except Tatsuya), which I'll describe later. For now, make sure Tatsuya's level stays below 80.

Let's navigate the maze. Hug the right wall all the way around to the NW end of the room, and enter the door there.

Small Room

Talk to the dark-suited man. Pick "Are you Kandori?" (1st choice), and you'll get Ginko's legendary weapon (2nd choice gets you nothing).

That's all for the factory.

Getting to LV 94 Quickly

At this point, we're just doing this for fun. Grinding for 5+ hours to beat the game is overkill.

You should be somewhere around LV 60 after finishing the Abandoned Factory. The highest level Persona is LV 99 Lucifer, but it takes a long time to get your party to LV 94 even using a setup like this.

CharacterPersonaMove
TatsuyaSifTarukaja (on Michel)
JunAbe No SeimeiGrydyne
MayaHathorHigh Pressure (God Hand)
GinkoPixieZio
MichelCerberusTackle (Dashing Strike)

But there is a faster way using several tricks. Remember how we summoned LV 49 Manannan even though only one party member was at LV 44? We can do something similar with Lucifer. Only one party member needs to be at LV 94 to summon him.

Party members gain 1/5 of the demon's EXP, so if we let all but one die in each battle the remaining character will gain five times as much EXP.

Next, we're going to use another trick with Estoma to only fight Alice (who gives a whopping 300,000 EXP before dividing between characters) in the Liquid Waste Disposal area of the Abandoned Factory.

Estoma only stops battles with demon groups where the highest level demon is lower than Tatsuya's level. Alice is LV 80, but the next highest demon is only LV 70, so after Tatsuya reaches LV 71 you can use Estoma to only fight Alice. It'll take a few minutes to find her each time, but you'll only fight her.

To easily get four characters to 1 HP, try the poison tiles in Xibalba B6F or fight the demons there until the four characters get hit with Metal Zentaur's Kamikaze. You can also set turn order so the EXP character guards, then switch his turn to the top so the enemies get their turns right away. Use weak Personas on the 1 HP characters until they die.

However, Alice has 4500 HP and very high stats. So how do we defeat her with only one party member alive? There happens to be a move, High End Crusher (Zanma-dark) that reduces the highest LV enemy's HP to 1, and it works on Alice. The last HP can be taken away with a skill at any time (don't use physical attacks and skills, since they might miss). For Alice to kill four of your characters, waste turns by guarding with Tatsuya, cancelling, and setting turn order to put him at the top until she uses Megidolaon.

Once you have a weakened team, save and head for the Liquid Waste Disposal area of the Abandoned Factory.

for Fenrir: Jun 4 raises both Eager and Happy, so to make Fenrir Eager/Happy you have to get lucky with questions.

Since we're at about LV 60 now, contact the other demons and make them eager to end battles without dying. Fight Alice with Tatsuya at full HP and the other party members at 1 HP and win with only Tatsuya alive several times to get him to LV 71. This was my setup. You have to guard or interrupt the battle and switch turns repeatedly to keep from attacking 1 HP Alice after a High End Crusher.

Important: Don't let Tatsuya get to LV 80, or you won't be able to use Estoma to only encounter Alice. In that case, contact demons for cards so your other party members won't level up and heal. It'll take longer to find Alice, but you can still use the same strategy.

  • Make sure you frequently interrupt battle and set turn order so nobody attacks 1 HP Alice. Just switch guarding Tatsuya and a dead party member to the top repeatedly so only Alice will attack.
  • You have to do a lot of menu manipulation between changing turn order (or guarding) and changing Personas.
  • It's faster to leave Agrippa in the stock, then switch it to a live party member after Alice attacks, then switch it back into the stock after battle. That way you don't have to worry about Alice not being able to KO a party member that was revived with a Revival Bead.
  • Hathor nulls dark, but switch to Sif and use Tetraja to cure Omega Cluster if Tatsuya was afflicted because he switched to a different Persona.
Reminder

Alice can use Another Dimension, which can possibly KO your entire team, so save after each win.

When Tatsuya reaches LV 71, heal Michel and switch Tatsuya's and Michel's roles so Michel gains the massive EXP. You can get Tatsuya's HP to one easily just by fighting a random battle with a weak Persona equipped to him. You can do this with any other party member you like, but I like Michel because he can make pacts with Alice for good money after he reaches LV 80.

Once Michel is LV 80, you can negotiate with Alice for a pact with Michel 4 "Sing", then make Alice happy again in the next battle and choose "Give me an item." to get the powerful Linden Amulet accessory (+80 DEF/MDEF). Not necessary, but helps keep characters alive and you can get more by asking again. They sell for 100,000 Yen apiece (150,000 at Jolly Roger with high buyback price), so this is a great way to get money for casino coins if the slots take too long. You'll want 1,200,000 Yen for the next section. Also get 628 Devil cards and 716 free/Judgement cards from the demons in this area (pact with Tzitzimitl works well).

When you're done, head to the Mu casino in Yumezaki.

Summoning Satan and Lucifer

Both of these Personas require a material card received from returning another rank 8 Persona. Start by buying 12,000 coins and four Healing Cards from the Casino, then head to the Velvet Room and make the following two Personas and add a Healing Card to each (so you can grind ranks without killing demons).

Beelzebub (LV 58 Devil x232)
Michael (LV 83 Judgement x332)

Get into a battle against weak demons in room 2 of the Abandoned Factory, kill all but one, then have Michel and Ginko spam Diarahan (and use Chewing Souls to replenish SP outside of battle) until Beelzebub and Michael reach rank 8, then return them to Igor for the material cards. Now make Satan and Lucifer. Again, add Healing Cards so you can grind ranks easily.

Satan (LV 96 Judgment x384 + Prosecutor's Diary)
Lucifer (LV 99 Devil x396 + Morning Star)

When Lucifer reaches rank 2 for Omega Cluster, and Satan reaches rank 6 for Alpha Blaster, you can use the fusion spell Armageddon (Omega Cluster-Alpha Blaster). Armageddon KOs all enemies instantly and even affects bosses. Now you can use Armageddon to beat the final boss in one turn, or whatever.

That's all, folks.

Sidequests

There are several sidequests in Persona 2: Innocent Sin. None of the missable ones give you any especially useful rewards, and the quests that do (the Casino and Sweepstakes) are quite time-consuming, so I don't reference any of them in the walkthrough. If you want to do them for your own enjoyment, they're all listed here for reference.

Rumor Sidequests

When you talk to certain people, they'll tell you a rumor in red. If you return to Kuzunoha Detective Agency during the right timeframe you can have Todoroki spread that rumor.

Also, for the rumor demons you usually have to talk to the person who told you the rumor right away after beating the demon or you'll miss getting the reward.

1. Hanako

When: During Seven Sisters High dungeon. Expires after completing the dungeon.

Who: Student in room 2-B

Defeat Hanako in a random encounter in Seven Sisters High, then talk to the student in 2-B for a Brink Tea (one time use item, revives party and KOs user).

1.5. The Lucky Cat Really Works!

No rumor is required for this.

You can get an incense set from the lucky cat at Kuzunoha Detective, and the dog mascot at Kounan PD. Put 10,000 Yen in one (by talking to it 100 times) and it'll give you a set of incense items. You can get the cat's incenses anytime, but the dog is unavailable after the Aoba Park dungeon.

2. Zodiac's 2nd floor is a maze

When: During Club Zodiac dungeon, before reaching 2F.

Who: Person in Club Zodiac bar (before the dungeon)

The second floor will become a large maze with eight card items: Poisma Card, Dia Card, Zio Card, Bufu Card, Agi Card, Aques Card, Magna Card, Garu Card.

3. Bukimi

When: During Kasugayama High, after escaping the Air Raid Shelter

Who: Student on 3F

Defeat Bukimi in a random encounter at Kasugayma High, then talk to the student on 3F for Soma x5 (restores all HP and SP outside of battle. Kind of pointless since we have Chewing Souls and Media to do the same thing).

CAUTION: Bukimi uses Hula of Misfortune, which halves your money. Defeat her quickly, or buy lots of items first (so you won't lose as much money).

4. Closet Old Lady

When: After gaining access to Kounan, but before finishing the Concert Hall.

Who: Boy in Kounan PD (talk to him, leave and reenter, then talk to him again)

Defeat the Closet Old Lady in the entrance of the Abandoned Factory, then talk to the boy for a set of six incense cards (the ones that boost a Persona's stats when you make it).

5. The flowers at Aoba Park can speak

When: After Giga Macho, but before Aoba Park

Who: Person on Aoba map outside Aoba Park

The flowers in Aoba Park will ask you questions and you can get some interesting dialogue and common items from answering them.

6. Linda

When: During Aoba Park

Who: Man in Shiraishi Ramen

Defeat Linda in a random encounter at Aoba Park, then talk to the man at Shiraishi Ramen for a Frei Card.

7. Cursed Taxi

When: After Smile Hirasaka

Who: Girl in Peace Diner

After talking to the girl, say the story didn't scare you to hear the rumor. Then, find and defeat the Cursed Taxi in Room 3 of the Abandoned Factory and talk to the girl again for a Mediarama Card. Spread the rumor again and beat up another Taxi. This time the reward is a Sacrifice Card (teaches Recarmda).

8. Kuchisake

When: During Mt. Iwato

Who: Person on map near Mt. Iwato

Defeat Kuchisake in a random encounter in Mt. Iwato, then talk to the person again for a Megido Card.

9. Jumping Geezer

When: After reaching the peak of Mt. Katatsumuri, but before the Longinus battle

Who: Person on map outside Mt. Katatsumuri

Hightail it all the way down the mountain to talk to the man, spread the rumor, then find the Jumping Geezer in a random battle in the Mt. Katatsumuri Peak area, then backtrack again for the reward, a Divine Light Card (teaches Samarecarm)

10. Kudan

When: After Caracol

Who: Person in Sumaru TV (Aoba)

Defeat Kudan in a random encounter in the Abandoned Factory, then talk to the person at Sumaru TV again for no reward.

CAUTION: Kudan uses Prophecy, which reduces all your equipped Persona's ranks to 1. Equip rank 1 Personas when doing this quest to avoid losing ranks.

11. Secret CD

When: After completing all four temples

Who: Suspicious man on 2F of the Abandoned Factory, right outside Room 4

Spreading this rumor makes Giga Macho sell another CD. Yippee.

Rumor Skills

When you make a pact with a demon, then make it happy again and asking for information, it will randomly mention a rumor about a specific demon using a special skill. These rumors are spread by demons, not Todoroki (although you can talk to him to view them). After you spread a rumor about a demon using a skill, you can hear two more rumors about the strength of that skill (weak or strong).

The moves aren't that strong even at the strong level, and the demons that use them are pretty odd, so there isn't much point to spreading the rumors except to give the enemy demons more (weak) ammunition.

Casino

After finishing Seven Sisters High, you can learn a rumor that Mu is a casino. Spread the slots rumor for best results. To learn which is the luckiest, talk to people on the street immediately after spreading the rumor. To get many coins early in the game, save before playing Bingo and keep reloading until you win several thousand. Then, save in front of the lucky slot or slot #5 (if you spread the Poker/Blackjack rumor instead) and play until you hit a jackpot and you can buy lots of stuff.

The Luck Source is great to put on Tatsuya early in the game, and the Vitality Source is great for Maya. You may want two more Vitality Sources for Ginko and the 5th party member, but Michel is better off equipping an Agility Source (received from returning a MAX rank Marduk Persona).

After returning from Caracol near the end of the game, the Casino will get more items, including several new Persona material cards. At this point, you can get coins pretty quickly just by buying them with cash from Abandoned Factory training sessions in the secret Liquid Waste Disposal area.

Sweepstakes

After finishing Seven Sisters High, you can learn a rumor about the sweepstakes. The best rumor to spread for the sweepstakes is the middle one "Hard to win, but prizes are good." The easy sweepstakes has common items as prizes, and the hardest sweepstakes ironically has poor prizes (not to mention it's terribly difficult to win).

To enter the sweepstakes, buy Sweepstakes Magazines from Satomi Tadashi, then give them to Tamaki at the Kuzunoha Detective Agency. After walking 300 steps in a dungeon, you can talk to Ginko's father at the Silverman Mansion in Rengedai to hear the results. The result is determined before you enter the sweepstakes, so saving and reloading in front of Ginko's father won't change the outcome.

The easiest way to walk 300 steps in a dungeon is to go to the Abandoned Factory in Kounan. No demons appear in the entrance area, and three laps around the ring is enough to make 300 steps.

Tatsuya's luck stat affects the chances of winning, so equip a Luck Source early on for best results. I'm not sure about this, but equipping him with a MAX rank Pixie during the whole process might also help.

The prizes for the "Hard to win, but prizes are good." sweepstakes include Desperate Measure (infinite-use Revival Bead), a 200 ATK (!) weapon for Michel, a 28 DEF helm that gives +120 MDEF (!), and Spirit Source (+5 SP on level up).

Theater

There are three episodes available. I highly recommend waiting until Tatsuya's level is above the highest level listed for the episode. That way, you can use Estoma to avoid fighting random battles. The third episode (LV 70) is mazelike and full of pits and incredibly annoying without Estoma, so don't try to complete it at a lower level.

You can use the Theater episodes to train your party early in the game. The demons here give out a lot of cards and levels.

Abandoned Factory

The Abandoned Factory is a dungeon in Kounan. It's always open as soon as you have access to the Kounan district (after beating Seven Sisters High and hearing about Kounan from Chikarin in Peace Diner in Yumezaki), but you can't explore the entire dungeon until near the end of the game. This is a good place to train if you're too weak for the current dungeon.
