Welcome to my guide on how to get all the trophies and related items for Yakuza 0 on the Playstation 4.
My name is Tasos Chrysostomou aka TechaNinja as I am known on gaming related sites and such.
This is my first guide on GameFAQs so please bare with me.
I found this game to be terrific and I am now playing the rest of the series.
Personal difficulty estimation: 6-8/10. Some climax battles as well as certain boss fights might be harder for some and easier for others. Some side content relies on RNG.
Offline trophies: 55. 46 Bronze, 6 silver, 2 gold, one platinum.
Online trophies: 0. Game has online and local multiplayer modes but are not needed for trophies.
Platinum Estimation: 100+ hours. There is a ton of side content, not to mention 374 challenges that will easily take you at least 100 hours to do everything. Some are RNG heavy.
Minimum playthroughs: 2/2.5: One playthrough to finish and unlock hardest difficulty called legend, 2nd playthrough on legend, cleanup on original save file or new save file / premium mode.
Missable Trophies: 8. Rich Taste, Smooth Criminal, Business Etiquette 101, Best Served Cold?, It Takes Two, They Won't Mind, Big Hair in the Crosshairs, Hitting the Bottle.
Glitched Trophies: 0 confirmed. Everything is obtainable without any problems.
Difficulty trophies: 1. First playthrough can be done on any difficulty which unlocks hardest difficulty called Legend which you must finish for a trophy.
Missable trophies and respective chapters as follows.
Chapter 2: Rich Taste:
When you are tasked with buying alcohol for the homeless, make sure you buy the expensive 20,000 yen champagne from Don Quixote and give it to homeless person that asked for it.
Chapter 3: Smooth Criminal:
Use this map to find the three npc's who have info you need. Once you have done it make sure to properly look around the club, called odyssey, at each table when you get to it. There are 4 tables you have to look at and the camera will zoom in when you are looking at it properly.
http://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza0/walkthrough03.html - they are marked with the number 4.
Chapter 5: Business Etiquette 101:
You get asked 3 questions at a cafe when meeting with a client. The correct choices are the middle table with 4 chairs, sit in the chair closest to the door/chair in front of you, and don't order anything. Make sure you pass the QTE shortly after the third question.
Chapter 7: Best Served Cold?:
You are tasked with buying takoyaki which must be delivered in less then fifteen minutes or it will get cold. Just buy the takoyaki and wait around or do side content till the item is cold. Check inventory to see if it's hot or gone cold.
Chapter 10: It Takes Two:
When Tachibana or Oda grab an opponent you are able to do a heat move follow up. Simply defeat 3 opponents in this method to get the trophy. You might want to stock up on some energy drinks that restore heat.
Chapter 12: They Won't Mind:
When you head to Bentenya there is two safes further in that you need to destroy. They are marked with the number 6 on this map. http://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza0/walkthrough12.html
Chapter 13: Big Hair in the Crosshairs:
Part way into the car chase there will be an enemy with a big afro hairdo and white suit. Quickly defeat him to obtain the trophy. Use the time slow ability to make it easier.
Chapter 15: Hitting the Bottle:
During the QTE fight in the bar you will be pushed onto the bar at one point. Deliberately fail the QTE of the barmaid swinging a bottle to obtain this trophy.
If you miss any of them you can obtain whichever ones you missed through legend difficulty or a new game / new game plus run.
Sit back, get some popcorn, open your favourite soda or alcohol of choice and enjoy a terrific game.
You can work towards other trophies while doing this but there is no rush to do so unless you want to grab as much as you can asap.

Remember this one crucial peace of advice.
SAVE SAVE SAVE AND SAVE. Basically if you die you have to start from your last save file so essentially you want to save as often as you can and always have healing items on hand.
The following trophies should be unlocked by the end of this step.
Stuff Of Legend (Gold)
As you progress the story and eventually finish it, you unlock extra challenges that can be done via a main menu option. There is 36 in all which all have their own set of rules, opponents and methods. Some will be tough but just apply what you've learned from the 2 playthroughs and try to stick to any tactics or cheese methods you know that can work.
The following trophies should be unlocked by the end of this step.
Just Beat It (Silver)
By now you have virtually every trophy unless you left side content, completion list, etc for last.
Basically use the completion guide which will account for a fair few other trophies as a stepping stone to clear off the rest of them and go from there.
The following trophies should be unlocked by the end of this step, or possibly before, if you have been doing a lot of side content during the first two steps.

Unmissable. Obtained after finishing the final chapter.
Stuff Of Legend
Complete the main story on Legend Difficulty
This is the hardest difficulty level in the game and is unlocked by finishing the game at least once. Enemies hit harder, take more punishment, take less damage from heat moves and are overall harder.
The key to beating legendary is to save often because dying forces you to reload a save file. Make sure you always have healing items in you and sacrifice stones incase things go south. You can farm them from dragon and tiger as well as other items that can help you out.
Don't forget you can claim the free DLC from the shrine/temple which can help make this a little easier.
Make It Rain
Throw away money on the street.
Unmissable. An event will happen for both characters around chapter 6 that will essentially lead to unlocking this.
Get started with Real Estate Royale
Unmissable. This is obtained shortly after you are introduced to the real estate business mode.
The Promised Land
Get 100% share in any area.
Keep buying properties in one area to increase share and don't forget to upgrade them to. One property from each area requires you to finish a specific sub story or completion list task to obtain it but it will be obvious when you go there.
The Glamorous Life
Purchase the most expensive property.
You will get this once you start buying up properties in the 5th area.
We Built This City
Complete the Real Estate Royale storyline.
As you buy properties and increase your shares you will be challenged by the other Real Estate bosses. Essentially beat them and take full control of each of the 5 areas and you should unlock this. You will obtain staff that help with it as you play the game and do substories.
Don't forget to buy the CP skills that speed up how long it takes to obtain money from the properties!
A Host of Hostesses
Get started with Cabaret Club Czar.
Unmissable. This is obtained shortly after you are introduced to working at the hostess club.
Talk of the Town
Get over 1,000 fans in any area.
As you run the hostess club and spend money on other properties you will get more fans. This trophy should unlock fairly quickly as spending the money on properties in the first area alone will get you at least 1000 fans.
You're Still Number One
Max out the level of a platinum hostess.
Using a platinum hostess when running a club as well as doing special training will level them up. Ideally you want to stick to mostly using them in the club as they have some of the best stats overall. Platinum hostess' cap out at level 40 while others cap at level 30.
Walking on Sunshine
Complete the Cabaret Club Czar storyline.
As you earn more fans you will eventually have to battle against the other clubs. Winning gets you full control of that area and extra money/fans. Once you beat all 5 bosses this trophy should pop.
Spend CP and do substories to obtain more staff for the Club to help you as you progress the storyline.
Half the Battle
Get over 50% on your Completion List
Ton of these should pop as you play unless you are specifically skipping combat, side content etc. They are self explanatory for the most part.
Get 100% on your Completion List.
This trophy will be a giant time-sink and will clock you at least 50+ hours of time but overall it shouldn't be too hard. Pretty much all the completion items are self explanatory and you will likely finish a ton of em as you play through the game and work through substories, fights, side content etc.
For some extra details on specific challenges see their respective trophies.
Tell Me a Story
Complete 10 substories.
Simply complete 10 substories. They are fairly easy to spot and some automatically pop up when you get close to the required person. Obtaining a trouble finder for either character will also help find some substories.
Complete 40 substories
As before just look around both cities and you should easily bump into people or they bump into you and another substory will pop up. Obtaining a trouble finder for either character will also help find some substories.
Story of My Life
Complete all substories.
There are 100 substories in total, 60 for Kiryu and 40 for Majima. These generally should be easily found while walking around or visting different shops, entertainment and such but use this if you are having trouble finding some. Obtaining a trouble finder for either character will also help find some substories.
The last substory for each is an extra boss fight that you can get to via a taxi. Once you hit 59 for Kiryu and 39 for Majima a conversation will pop up to detail this.
Spent one billion yen.
This should pop as you upgrade both characters and spend money on things such as the real estate and hostess club.
Worked Hard for the Money
Throw away a total of five million yen.
After you learn how to throw away money just keep doing it and you will hit five million easy. The ability to do this is unlocked around chapter 6.
Who Ya Gonna Call?
Picked up your first telephone card
Keep a look out for sparkling spots similiar to what you see in older games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. There are 45 in sets of 3 which pop up in order of first card, second card and third card.
One of the first CP skills you should buy is an equipment that makes a noise when you are near a card. Some cards are not obtainable till later in the game and non are missable.
Here is a japanese site with the cards which can help. The cards are essentially in the same order as the website and are checkable through your inventory.
...I Did It for the Trophy
Watch a sexy video.
There are 30 videos unlocked in the game via sub stories, real estate, hostess club and visting certain bars/clubs.
Get a top-grade item from a Dream Machine.
You will find these special vending machines that have a label above them to make it easy to find. The ones that cost 1 Million yen have a chance to drop a 10 star item. You will likely come across a 10 star item as you work on the completion list and side content.
Training in Style
Complete one training mission with each master.
As you play you will find masters who can teach both characters a new technique. Basically learn at least one from each master and the trophy will pop. The training methods ain't that hard overall.
A Wise Investment
Purchase ten or more abilities.
You want to upgrade both characters skills as you progress in order to do more damage and take less damage as well as have more moves and bigger combos. This will unlock after your 10th upgrade.
Master of Style
Obtain all abilities for every style.
Just upgrade all three styles for both characters and this will unlock. You will get this later in the game as by then you will have tons of money from chapter completion bonuses plus the business money you make.
Whip It Good
Get five or more play bonuses fighting a single enemy.
You get bonuses for defeating enemies in specific ways. Getting 5 of them off one defeat should be easy to get as there is a ton of bonuses that can be obtained.
Mr. Shakedown Takedown
Defeat Mr. Shakedown for the first time.
Early on in the game you will be introduced to Super Saiyan 3 Goku I mean a big angry man. Bascially this is it's own mini subplot if it's own about these big angry guys trying to defeat you for your money. If they beat you, you lose all your money. If you win you get whatever money they had which is shown above their head before they try to fight you.
They are a good source of money farming as Kiryu can obtain a CP skill that gives 50% extra of what they have when you beat them. So if they beat you when you had 1 billion and you find them and beat them you will get 1.5 billion plus whatever else they had on them (and 50% extra of that to).
Zap shotguns unlocked through Majima's Dragon and Tiger store is an easy way to beat them.
Welcome to the Jungle
Get the best weapon search results report.
This will randomly happen during Dragon and Tiger searches. You will easily obtain while working towards the equipment parts trophy.
Eye of the Dragon and Tiger
Obtain all equipment parts.
The game has 96 different crafting mats that are obtained from various sources including searches through dragon and tiger. Unfortunately for the most part a bunch of them are purely RNG but you will eventually get them while working towards the other dragon and tiger completion points and trophies. To double check what you have go to inventory and press R1 once to check what materials you have at that moment.
Defeat 30 or more opponents in Endless Rout
Just over halfway through the game you will unlock a fight club of sorts while playing through a part of Majima's story. As you win money through the fight club you rank up and eventually unlock an endless mode that gives money for each fight you successfully win without losing. You need to win 30 in a row to obtain the trophy. You can choose to spend money on rulesets to change the rules in your favour.
What a Player
Play every minigame.
You should naturally get this as you work towards your completion list. More minigames unlock as you finish chapters.
Go on a date with a girl you met at the Telephone Club
This has some RNG to it. Essentially once you pick up the phone in the minigame you will get a girl with blue, white or green bikini, with 3 girls per colour. For the most part the quick QTE to pick up the phone is one of the three proper girls that dates you, while the slower QTE tends to be either the dud dates or the date that will stand you up / not show up.
If you recognize the voice of a girl you already have dated then hold L1 to hang up and try again. Just keep at it as this tends to be RNG and some japanese voices can be hard to distuinguish.
The proper dates require a bit of trickery to finish properly but here is how you do them.
Riku: Look from side. Look from front. Choose the rear girl.
Ayaka: Get closer. Look further. 3rd option.
Haruki: Wait for them to turn around. 2nd option.
Say You Wanna Dance
Complete every disco song on any difficulty.
Both cities have a disco you will need to hit up as part of some sub stories and completion list work. The minigame isn't too hard overall and is actually pretty fun with some neat parodyish songs of real 80s songs including Michael Jackson and David Bowie.
Cat Scratch Fever
Win ten bets on three-round tournaments at JCC
You will eventually come across this while using Kiryu. This trophy is pretty much 95% rng. My advice is to stick with Jennifer and use a combination of her best attack and her other two attacks.
The Dragon of Pocket Circuit
Win all Pocket Circuit races.
You unlock Pocket Circuit mode fairly early in the game. Essentially how it works is you modify your car and race others on specific tracks. You can obtain parts via a shop there and via the dream machines. Some levels are easy but some are RNG.
For extra advice and recommended builds check out this link.
Generosity of Strangers
After you become undisputed king of an area, get someone to light a cigarette for you on the street.
While controlling Kiryu you may sometimes find a person who just bends over when you approach them and they just stay there like that. Simply wait at the person for awhile and instead of Kiryu lighting his cigarette, the NPC will offer instead.
Defeat So and Jo Amon.
The last substory for both charactesr is an optional boss fight vs So / Jo Amon. Use the taxi to get to the bullfighting arena. For an easier boss battle make sure you unlocked zap gun from the dragon and tiger story that Majima can work with, stock up on a ton of zap guns and then proceed to literally obliterate the bosses.
Video of me defeating the harder Amon with the zap gun method.
Just Beat It
Complete all Climax Battles
As you finish chapters you will unlock climax battles. These are selected via the main menu. There is 32 in total and never get too insanely hard. I didn't have too much of a problem with them but your milage may vary. Ideally you want to do these after you finish the game once that way you have the mechanics and know how and worked out cheese methods.
