DLC

Harley Quinn Story Pack

Poison Ivy has been apprehended by the Bludhaven police force. Scarecrow has a role for Ivy to play in his upcoming plans for Gotham. Harley is more than willing to help spring her friend from the jail so that Scarecrow's plans have a better chance for success. The game play for Harley at its core is the same as playing Batman in the story mode. Attacks are performed the same way and counters are very important. There are a few key differences. Harley is not one for stealth so there will be no silent takedowns. You can still sneak up on enemies but the takedowns will be loud. She has a Mayhem Meter that fills by performing beatdowns or even getting hit. Harley doesn't have a Detective Mode, instead she has a Psychosis Mode that reveals enemy locations. She only has three gadgets and they are different than the other characters. The Snare Trap will tie up enemies making them more vulnerable to attack. Laughing Gas can be used to distract enemies for get away or attacks. Jack-in-the-Box can be placed in an area and detonate to eliminate enemy forces.

After crashing through the gate Harley, encounters some resistance outside the police department. Knock out all the cops and enter the building. Activate Psychosis mode and you can see where the officers are located. Press down on the d-pad to select one of Harley's gadgets, the Jack-in-the-Box. Press L2 to activate and R2 to place it. Enter the gate and the guards will come to see what is causing the noise outside their gate. When they get close enough press R3 to detonate the gadget. This will eliminate all the officers. Move into the area the officers left and press R1 to leap through the grate in the ceiling. Continue forward and destroy the wall with a Jack-in-the-Box. Penguin asks Harley to keep it quiet but she refuses. Move through the door.

Here we learn of the advantages of Mayhem mode. Harley will be faster and stronger making every attack a knockout when this mode is activated with L1. This room is full of officers. Use Mayhem mode initially to thin the crowd on the right side of the top level. From this point the officers will move around the room. Use vantage points, grates, and vents to maneuver Harley into a good position to take out the officers. If under attack, the evade moves (Left Analog Stick and X) will help Harley to dodge bullets. Don't forget about your gadgets either than can help manage the room as well. After defeating all the officers move to the computer in the center of the room to find Ivy's location.

Move to the through the doors marked to get to the elevator. That leads to the basement and Ivy. Unfortunately the next room also has several officers. This is just a fight similar to the one that began the DLC. Eliminate the resistance and take the elevator down. The cops are onto your plan and stop the elevator. Press R1 to leap to the roof of the elevator and place a Jack-in-the-Box next to the wall to create a path. Drop down the other elevator shaft. At the bottom move into the crawl space and into the next room. This room has a cool feature. Throughout the are we can find some of Ivy's plants. If you tap L3 when an officer is near the plant will eliminate some of our work for us. Continue to the basement.

We have found Poison Ivy. Officers enter the room, a Mayhem Mode should be available activate to make short work of these guys. Even the guy with the shield goes down fast. Nightwing somehow learned that Harley was quietly trying to free Ivy and is here to stop the break out. Nightwing is equipped with stun sticks and can not be attacked straight on. Harley will have to evade over Nightwing's head and attack him from behind. The hero isn't the only one in the room though, more officers will enter the fight. Try to stay focused on evading over Nightwing for attacks then countering when others try to help. When Nightwing's health bar has been eliminated the level is over.

Red Hood Story Pack

Red Hood has a few different gadgets. Zip Kick Dual Hand Guns Flash Bang Grenade

The story starts immediately with a fight against some of Black Mask's men. There will be a couple enemies with stun sticks that you have to evade over and attack from behind. Otherwise the fights pretty simple. At the docks we see a new type of enemy. An enemy highlighted in purple when view through Detective Mode is bulletproof and requires a close up takedown. There are 11 enemies in the area. All of them are armed, three are bullet proof, and one is a sniper. Use predator techniques to pick them off one by one. Start with the sniper on the right, it can be annoying trying to avoid their gaze. Eliminate the rest as they separate. Silent takedowns work very well. This interrogation went well too. We find out that Black Mask is in his office.

The initial fight is against a group of normal henchmen plus two stun stick wielders. Try to eliminate the guys with the stun sticks first. The rest of the room will be easy to clear. Black Mask is apparently angry we didn't make an appointment before entering his offices. He brings a group of henchmen with him. The henchmen will be easy to take out but Black Mask is the primary target. The only thing to watch for is a prompt on screen to tap Triangle to dodge a bullet shot by Black Mask. You don't even have to dodge, if your combos are going good just be sure to target Black Mask regularly and he won't be able to get a shot off. That isn't to say its a super easy fight. Your combos have to be on with attacks and counters. Additionally you will need to avoid the charging enemies. The Black Mask seems to have an endless supply of henchmen to throw at the Red Hood. The battle is even longer because we can't get much damage on the main guy do to all the thugs we have to fight through.

A Matter of Family

The site for the DLC is the Seagate Amusement Park. Joker has Commissioner Gordon captive. When the cinematic ends we are in a fight with a large number of Joker's thugs. Fortunately we have Robin by our side. Use the Dual takedowns (L1) to eliminate as many thugs as needed. When the area is clear we get our first objective.

Infiltrate the Amusement Park

The gate ahead is controlled by a security box. Use the Remote Hacking Device (press down on the d-Pad) to override the locks. Grapple across the tram cars just as Robin is doing in front of you. There is a sniper in a car ahead. Batgirl and Robin both take cover. Use the Remote Hacking Device to hack the box above the car with the sniper to eliminate him. Continue grappling forward until we see the next group of enemies. Hack the box on the side of the tower then grapple to the ledge. When ready perform a ledge takedown and Robin will do the same. The subsequent cut scene shows that the Joker is not pleased with our progress.

Climb to the top of the Oil Rig

Grapple up to the platform. There is a thug on one end. A silent takedown works perfect. Hack the controls and move the platform to the left. Grapple up to the right and enter the vent. The next room has several enemies. Hack the large generator to scare the thugs and perform an immediate takedown. This acts similar to the Fear Multi-Takedown that Batman performs. Fight of the remaining thugs. Once the room is clear hack the security box to open the gate. Move through the gate and grapple to the walkway at the end of the corridor. At the top of the stairs look for an opening above and grapple higher. Use the Batclaw to open the vent on the wall.

At the end of the vent we find a group of three armed thugs holding someone hostage. Blind the enemies by hacking the box on the wall. This provides the perfect opportunity to eliminate the armed enemies with silent takedowns. Go up two ladders. Look for two consecutive grapple points to go even higher. One more ladder to climb and we enter the Amusement Park. Walk to the end of the room and grapple to the roof. Batgirl will toss a Batarang in the air to scan the park for hostages. As the camera pans the area press X to try and locate the hostages. They are located at the Ferris Wheel, the Merry Go Round, and at the Ghost Ship (scan the large crane).

Rescue the Hostages at the Ferris Wheel

Lets start at the Ferris Wheel. Here we find four thugs on the ground and one sniper in the each tower. Batgirl can grapple to the side of the tower to silently take out each sniper. Generally when trying to grapple you target the vantage point below the sniper. You have to take it at an angle and hit it just right to end up on the side. With the snipers eliminated the others should be easy to sneak up behind for silent takedowns. There are several hackable devices that can lead to distractions or takedowns. With the area clear move to the Ferris Wheel controls and activate the break. More thugs enter the area, nine total, all armed. Use predator techniques to eliminate them all. Batgirl does not have the same protection that Batman does with his leveled up suit. Its easy to think you are more invincible than you are after playing through the game with upgraded protection. Use vantage points, grates, and hackable distractions to take out the thugs. When the area is clear open the control panel near the ferris wheel and hack the box inside to stop it. Move the ferris wheel so that the hostages can exit. If needed, use Detective Mode to locate the cage that they are in.

Defuse the bomb at the Great White

Move to the Great White Shark and help Robin defuse a bomb. Glide into the mouth and begin eliminating thugs. Dual and environmental takedowns work well for the electrified enemies. The rest should be easy. When the shark is clear of thugs hack the box to defuse the bomb. The password is CHARLATAN.

Rescue the Hostages at the Merry Go Round

Everything looks quite at the Merry Go Round. Move to the center and the Joker appears on the monitor. We see the hostages behind the glass and the area begins to be flooded by thugs. This is just a brawl in a small arena. Try to keep your combos up and be quick on the counters. At times medics will appear. These thugs dressed in white should be targeted quickly. The can electrify others and resuscitate downed enemies. The only other thug to worry about is a single blade wield that has yellow counter mechanics. Use Explosive Gel on the glass surrounding the hostages to free them. As soon as the hostages are free a timer appears so get moving.

Defuse the bomb at the Park Entrance

Glide toward the marker dropping down before arriving at it. Ignore the enemies and rush over the gates. Hack the console. The correct password is FRAUD. With the bomb defused we fight more enemies side by side with Robin.

Rescue the Hostages at the Ghost Ship

The Ghost Ship is protected by a few armed guards and a single sniper. Glide to the roof of the sniper's perch and enter through an opening to eliminate him with a silent takedown. Watch for a mobile thug to enter the area and come up the stairs. Sneak behind him for another silent takedown. There are three more armed enemies remaining. There is a hackable device below the sniper's location that when hacked will attract the thugs. Once they are in range, hack the object again to scare them. Once they are scared swoop in and attack. Grapple to the crane and hack its controls. Move the crane to the right and when appropriate drop its cargo to open the path to the hostages. Drop below and eliminate the thugs in the ship. Hack the security controls to open the gate ahead as the Joker comes across the consoles. At the end of the hall move up onto the broken boards and perform a takedown on the enemies below. Use the switch to move a giant head to open a portal. At the end of the corridor grapple up to see more hostages. There are 13 armed enemies. One of them is a sniper in the far corner. Grapple up to the scaffolding near the ceiling and work your way to behind the sniper. Take him out silently then focus on the other 12 thugs. When the enemies are eliminated glide down to the hostages and hack the box. Move the hostage that is hanging to the floor to complete the objective. Glide over to the gate and active the door to exit. A couple of grapples and a lever and we are back above ground.

Rescue Commissioner Gordon

Glide down to the entrance to the main tent. Skip the enemies out front and leap over the gate. Ahead is a door. The other side we climb up and then grapple. Smash down through some boards then exit another door. We witness an explosion. Use the Line Launcher to wire walk. About half of the distance we see an opening. Leap over and enter the room on the right. Hack the box to move the obstruction inward (to the left). Now exit the room and use the Line Launcher to head straight out. Use the slow motion effect to fire another Line Launcher by the now absent obstruction. A grapple ahead leads us to Robin. Climb the ladder to arrive at the Main Event.

Here we fight numerous thugs, Joker, and Harley Quinn. The thugs should be used to build up a Dual Takedown. The Dual Takedowns are perfect for attacking Harley and the Joker. The Joker will also try to attack from range. Tap R2 to counter his attack. Harley likes to rush with a red counter mechanism, meaning that tapping triangle will do nothing. Instead punch her or evade over her to avoid damage. Attacking the Joker can lead to a quick time button pressing event. Rapidly tap Square after blocking the knife attack then tap L1 to ask for help to avoid the gun shot. Eliminate all of the Joker and Harley's health to win this boss battle.
