Walkthrough / Before You Start
Mission 13: Three Warriors
In the Beginning
At the start of the mission, you can choose from any of our three heroes. There's no substantive difference throughout this level between the three players, so feel free to choose whichever you like.
It's worth noting that Dante now has his Devil Sword Dante for use in place of Sparda and Rebellion, but you will also acquire Dr. Faust, so Dante has some new toys to play with here.
A New Enemy Approaches
When you're ready, drop into the hole directly in front of you to meet the Lusachia.
| New Enemy: Lusachia - 2250 Health |
This enemy is not a huge threat alone. It's a pretty fragile enemy (not unlike the Baphomet) and as long as you are aggressive, it won't spend enough time off the floor to do anything. So why is this enemy the last enemy in the game to be revealed? The Lusachia can do a staggering amount of damage and can't miss. It takes a little while for it to build up energy, during which you'll see purple energy swirl around your character, but there's no amount of running or dodging that can help you avoid it. Once that energy starts to collect, your only option for avoiding huge damage is to attack the Lusachia enough to stun it. How much is a lot of damage? A single attack can take 3 bars of health on just Devil Hunter. Naturally, this makes Lusachia a prime target, but if there are more than one of them, this gets very tricky. Fighting other enemies isn't really much of an option until these are eliminated. |
Thankfully, while these guys are fairly heavy hitters, a single Lusachia isn't too much of a threat. Take this guy down and then exit the room to drop into the main arena.
Three Amigos
Once you drop into this big room, you'll likely be paired with one or two other players. Everything is about to go off the rails because who knows what the other players will be doing. Obviously, to get this far, they must have a decent head for this kind of stuff, but it means making plans can be tough. All three paths overlap entirely for the rest of the mission.
This room usually has a Riot Nest, Scudo Angelos, Antenoras, and a Behemoth in it. Focus on the Nest first before cleaning up the other enemies. At this point, consider your allies. If they're tackling the Behemoth right now, try to go for small enemies that might be swarming them. If they're dancing with some smaller enemies, try and draw the attention of the Behemoth.
When the enemies are all gone, destroy the Blood Clot that the Nest was on top of. Once it's destroyed, the pile of vines in the middle will dissolve. Drop through the new hole.
Level 2
The next room is pretty similar, except there will be two Nests, a couple of Mushrooms and several Riots in the room. As you eliminate nests, watch for a couple of Nobodies to join the battle. Again, as before, try not to pile on the same enemies as your companions. Pick on other groups of enemies so that they don't get piled on.
When this room is secure, destroy the two Blood Clots and search the room for orbs. You'll find a stash of Green and White orbs in a small alcove along the outside of the room. Stock up and then drop into the hole for a moment of respite.
In this room, you'll find two Green Crystals and a Red Crystal as well as a Divinity Statue in case you need to buy anything. Make sure you're set and then drop through the hole to the right of the Divinity Statue to continue.
Level 3
This next room is the real fight. There are four Nests in this room and a lot of Chaos as well as a couple of Mushrooms around the outside. Obviously, the nests are the high priority here, but there are enough enemies that it may be difficult to get around safely. The nice thing is that the enemies are pretty uniform and the room is large enough that you don't have to worry about getting swarmed.
After that, start picking apart the Chaos with your allies. When this is taken care of, it'll be time to set about the four Blood Clots, but pay close attention to the vines. There will be a single small pile of vines towards the outside of the room that covers a much smaller hole. Find this and drop into it once it's freed up.
The Yellow Zone
This will drop you into a yellow-lit nest area underneath the arena. There's only one path to climb that is pretty well lit by rows of horizontal yellow lights. Follow this path upward and you'll collect a lot of Red, Green, and White Orbs. Be careful on the thin yellow bridges between platforms so you don't fall to the bottom.
At the top, you'll find one last bridge that is very narrow in the middle (be ready to wall jump off the side if you slip). In the middle of this bridge will be a Gold Orb and on the other side in the exit tunnel will be a Large Red Crystal. Destroy that and drop back into the large room from earlier. If there are any remaining clots, destroy them and drop into the hole in the middle to finish the mission.
Upon completing the mission with all three characters (it'll be essentially the same each time), you'll earn the Each His Own Way achievement.
