Achievements/Trophies

Quick Roadmap
Phase 1 - Play on Human/Collectibles
Unfortunately, difficulties don't stack. If you're going to 100% this game, you'll need to go back and complete the game on Human even if you beat it on Devil Hunter. For that reason, I recommend starting on Human (if you're aiming for 100%).
During this playthrough, make sure to collect all Blue Orb Fragments, Purple Orb Fragments, and at least find the Secret Missions. You may not be able to finish the Secret Missions when you first find them just because having certain abilities later will help, but as long as you find them, they'll show up in the main menu. Upon completing the game for the first time, return and finish the Secret Missions.
Additionally, purchase all the Blue and Purple Orbs from the shop. It takes a lot of Red Orbs, but these upgrades apply to all of your characters. Repeat Mission 13 a couple of times if you're out of Red Orbs.
Doing this will earn you the following:
- Let's Rock
- Fall from Grace
- Reunion
- Backroad
- End of the Line
- Light in the Dark
- This Ain't Over
- The Qliphoth
- Gotta Hurry
- Back to Life
- Man on a Mission
- A New Job
- Physical Perfection
- The Devil's Own
- Secrets Exposed
The core walkthrough of this guide will help you traverse every mission and find all of the collectibels along the way. Make sure to collect the secret weapon on Mission 11, which is in the walkthrough and also part of the Collectibles/Orb Fragment Guide. It's required for an achievement later.
Phase 2 - Repeat the Process
This one is fairly simple though difficult. Complete the game on Devil Hunter, Son of Sparda, and Dante Must Die while trying to get the best rank you can. Make sure that you choose different characters on Mission 07 and Mission 13 each time. Doing this, you will unlock:
- Showtime!
- Doing Daddy Proud
- Dance with the Devil
- Share the Pain
- Each In His Own Way
For help with this, check the High Difficulty Mini-Walkthrough.
Phase 3 - Bloody Palace
With all of that practice under your belt, you're now capable of tackling the Bloody Palace, if you choose. This isn't actually part of the core game. It came in an update on April 01, 2019. For that reason, this is kind of optional, but it's great additional practice and a single completion is worth about 1.5m Red Orbs. Complete this for each character to earn:
- Jackpot! (if you didn't get it earlier)
- Demon Destroyer (If you didn't get it earlier)
- Path of the Conqueror (Trophy Only)
- Slam Dunk (Achievement Only)
- Too Easy (Achievement Only)
- Rest in Peace (Achievement Only)
For help with all of this, check the Bloody Palace section of the guide.
Phase 4 - Going to Hell
This part is tough, but it gets worse later. During this phase, you're going to simply complete Heaven or Hell and Heaven and Hell modes. This will earn you:
- Stairway to Heaven
- Highway to Hell
For help with this, check the High Difficulty Mini-Walkthrough.
Phase 5 - Respite
For Phase 5, you're going to clean-up everything except for S ranking missions. You will set about unlocking all of the following if you haven't done so already after completing the game several times:
- Protect the People
- Where the Red Orbs Grow
- Break a Leg
- Eagle-Eyed
- Don't Mess with the Best
- Slick Moves
- Obedience Training
- Battle for the Ages
- Who Needs Weapons Anyway (Use Royal Guard)
- Unarmed and Dangerous
- Pet Protection
For help, see their respective levels in the core walkthrough. Do them on Human to make your life easier.
- Not Too Shabby
- Steppin' up the Style
- Seriously Stylish Slaying!
All of these were likely completed already, but if you managed to complete Hell and Hell, you should be able to figure this out on your own. Make sure to mix up your attacks as much as possible, keep on the offensive and avoid all attacks. If you still need help, check the Characters section for more tips.
- Rearm and Repeat - Easy to do in Bloody Palace. On the rest stages, detonate your Devil Breaker and pick up more. There's more than 10 per rest stage.
- The Quick and the Dead - On your preferred difficulty, play any stage with V (the opening of Mission 04 works well), and 5+ enemies to turn white, waiting for the execution. Use Royal Fork to kill them all simultaneously.
- Well I'll be Damned - Defeat Urizen in the Prologue. This fight is comparable to fighting Urizen late during Son of Sparda. He escalates quickly. Check the Bestiary for tips. Try to save all your energy for after you break the crystal. Your goal is to kill him before he recreates his crystal.
- I Believe I can Fly - Probably already did this, but you just have to jump a lot.
And finally, all four of these can be done by manipulating your saves. Stock up on Red Orbs, save your game, make a manual back-up of the save, and then spend Red Orbs like crazy. Make a copy of your manual back-up to the console memory and repeat. Spend them in the shop on each character one at a time to buy all abilities, and then on a separate attempt, use Dr. Faust to spend 500k Red Orbs damaging enemies. This will get you:
- Dante the Gambler
- Nothing's Impossible
- Be the Legend
- Demon Breeder
Phase 6 - S Rank All Levels
This is the worst part of this run. You'll need to get an S rank on every mission in the game and on every difficulty excluding Heaven or Hell. That means you need to complete Heaven AND Hell to get this.
To do that means playing nearly perfectly at an extremely high difficulty. If you take even a single hit on HaH, that knocks off a huge chunk of style points.
There's little I can do to help. You have to be very skilled and very familiar with the game to do this. For help getting started, check the High Difficulty Mini-Walkthrough.
Completing this will get you the last few bits:
- Hell of a Hunter
- Worthy of Legend
- Devil May Cry (Trophy Only)
Achievement/Trophy List
PLEASE NOTE: I would normally block off secret achievements/trophies as spoilers, but for some reason, Capcom has opted not to designate any of them as secret. While it doesn't appear that they give much away here, be warned that there MAY be spoilers in this list.
