Walkthrough

Sherman's Camp is Crawling

It Was On Me

There are several missions that send you back up to Sarah's grave. They're short and give you a bit of XP. Simply drive up, run past the shortcut you hopefully unblocked last time you were here, check her gravestone, and Deacon will start talking. Once he's done, you'll get your reward.

It's important to do these in a timely manner. These missions will eventually be replaced by the next mission in the line if you progress far enough, losing you that XP. If you miss it, you'll still get storyline credit, so you don't have to worry about missing out on storyline rewards.

I Brought You Something

When you're ready, fuel up and ride out for the waypoint just north of Crazy Willie's. This will lead you to a gift shop. Hop in the side window of the gift shop and find the one display shelf on the other side. Search the top shelf to find the Thunder Egg you're looking for.

Take this rock back to Lisa at Hot Springs to complete this mission.

Storyline Update

  • I Brought You Something
    • 2,000 XP
    • Hot Springs +500 Trust
  • You're Safe Now - 40%

I've Pulled Weeds Before

When you're ready, head back to Boozer at the O'Leary Mountain Safehouse, making sure to fill up on gas on the way. Grab whatever supplies you need from downstairs before heading up. When you head up to talk to Boozer, you'll enter a flashback.

During the flashback, you'll need to collect a bit of Lavender. After following Sarah to the shoreline, check near the water to find three pieces of Lavender. Once you have enough, return to Sarah for some Herbal Tea.

Storyline Update

  • I've Pulled Weeds Before
    • 2,000 XP
  • I Remember - 26%

Give Me a Couple Days

It looks like you're going to need a bit more Lavender. Unfortunately, you don't get to bring any of the stuff back from the past with you. When you're ready, fuel up and head for the waypoint NE of the Horse Lake NERO Checkpoint. When you get there, check by the water of the lake to find three pieces of Lavender.

When you have them, head back to Boozer to finish this mission.

Storyline Update

  • Give Me a Couple Days
    • 3,000 XP
  • He's My Brother - 47%

What Have They Done?

You may have to travel around a little bit or complete side missions to raise trust before this happens. Eventually, Mrs. Tucker will give you a call to let you know what has happened and where to go.

Make sure you're fueled up and armed to the teeth. You'll definitely want to have a sniper rifle (if you can find one) and an automatic rifle of some kind before you get there because you'll need to move fast at the end of the mission.

Head back to the gift shop that you visited earlier north of Crazy Willie's.

Who am I kidding?

Follow the path leading behind the gift shop. Make sure to check the Backpack next to the gift shop and grab the Kerosene from atop the crates to the right of the path if you need it. Keep moving along the path and it will come to a rounded area at the top of a hill where a Ripper is tormenting someone. Sneak up and kill him before taking the path SW.

The path will lead to another open area at the mouth of a cave. Two Rippers will be in this area: one on patrol coming towards you and another on the far side of the area standing as a stationary guard. Wait for the first one to walk towards you before you take it out and then kill the other.

Go into the cave and follow the path of flares. Just after going down the final set of metal stairs (a small set), you'll see some Ammo just to the right of a small barrier.

Keep following the path until you hear two Rippers. One will be tormenting someone on the other side of a rock while another will patrol around the right side. Wait for the patrolling Rippering to come around the side and start walking away. Hop the barrier and kill it. Jump back over and flank around to kill the other one.

When they are dead, take the nearby stairs up leading out of the cave.

Get Low

When you get back outside, you'll see three Rippers ahead. The closest one will be stationary, the next on will be patrolling on the path, and a third one will be on a rock in the distance with a rifle. Sneak up through the bushes along the left side until you're close to the first ripper. Wait for the third ripper to turn away, toss a rock to distract the second ripper, and kill the first one.

After that, take out the second one quickly and head for the rock the third on was standing on. Wait for it to turn away and climb up to kill it.

Continue along the path and at the intersection, you'll find two Rippers. Toss a rock to distract one of them, and then kill the other. Quickly kill the second one before they lose interest in the distraction. At the next intersection, you'll find another Ripper at the top of the hill to your right. Kill it to make sure you don't get flanked.

Head back down to the main path. After you've passed these two intersections, the path will lead downward and a single Ripper will be patrolling. If this enemy knows you're there, he'll light himself on fire and literally try to hug you to death. If this happens, your best bet is to get away from him and shoot him to death.

Keep moving along the path and you'll eventually pass under an archway that has a handwritten sign saying "Tremble" next to it. Not long after that, you'll spot a Ripper running away from you as if leading you to a trap. Follow him to find out that it IS a trap!

Now!

When the spring the trap, run up the hill and take a right at the intersection. Take cover behind any of the rocks on the right because a Ripper will start trying to shoot you from across the path.

Take cover behind the next rock on your right. There are two Rippers near the path. Both will likely come to find you, but expect the melee Ripper first. If you get a second, poke your head out to mark as many enemies as possible, especially the Sniper in the tower to the SE.

Slowly make your way through a few more Rippers as you climb up this path and you'll be able to find Lisa under that tower.

Don't Stop

This section is quite fast once it gets going. Make sure you're loaded up on the fastest firing mid-range weapon that you have and try to make sure you stay ahead of Lisa. In a lot of instances, this seems to get you to the enemies before they've had a chance to set up.

Follow the path until the first enemies you encounter at a bend. You'll be attacked by Two Rippers. Shoot them from behind cover here and then follow Lisa as she leads you over a rocky path to the south (remember to loot if you need ammo).

After a little bit, you'll encounter two more Rippers near an archway. Kill them to clear a path before following Lisa as she climbs up some rocks. You'll quickly come across the visitor center, but two Rippers will come charging at you from the parking lot. Take cover behind the boxes to the right and take them out.

When you're ready, hop on your bike and wait for Lisa to join you. Once she's on the bike, it's time for an otherwise peaceful ride to meet up with an old friend. When you get there, you'll drop Lisa off.

Storyline Update

    • Hot Springs +1,000 Trust

I Should Have Left Her

Once again, return to Sarah's grave in the NW corner of the map for a quick bit of story and XP. Like the others, do this ASAP because it will eventually disappear.

No One Saw it Coming

Fill up your tank if need be and travel back to the O'Leary Mountain Safehouse. When you get there, if you haven't already, wait a moment and Mrs. Tucker will call to ask about Lisa. When you're done with your chat, head into the camp and check on Boozer.

After you talk to Boozer, fill up on supplies from the crate and grab anything near the bottom of the tower. When you're ready, hop on your bike and take Boozer for a ride.

You've got quite the trip ahead of you, and it should be an otherwise peaceful journey, so enjoy your trip down south. When you reach your destination, you'll unlock the Lost and Found trophy.

Storyline Update

  • Gear Up for the Ride - 83%
  • He's My Brother - 53%

Not Gonna Kill Anyone

When Boozer is all settled in, head down the hill but take note of the two Guards patrolling the path below. When they pass cut across the road and keep moving down the hill. In the distance, you'll see a small strip of land cutting across a pond. Make sure to Mark the people here and get into a bush near them.

"Guards" are not really a new enemy. These people look a lot like Drifters, but you won't engage them. If they spot you, it's an instant failure. Since these are essentially just walking cameras, it doesn't really make sense to list them as a new enemy.

When you reach the first Guard by the campfire, toss a rock to the right of him to draw him away so you can loop around to the left. Make your way through the bushes and watch for the two Guards near the fire. Let them talk and keep circling along the short to the left.

You'll come across a small guard post. Stay on the outside of that and hop the small wooden walkway. To your right and inland a bit, you'll notice a small house. Get a little closer and take note of the Guard on the porch. Toss a rock off to your left to lure him away and walk up to the house. Go around it on the right side and get into the bushes there.

Keep moving ENE along the right side of the road, moving from bush to bush. Before long, you'll come across two Guards sitting at a picnic table. Walk behind them to a bush by a tree stump. Try to mark as many Guards to the east as possible.

From here, spot the two Guards just across the street and throw a rock to the right of them to distract them. Cross the street and get into the bush. Watch the road to the north (between the two buildings) for two patrolling Guards. Once they walk past you, dart across the road to the north and climb up the hill leading towards your destination.

When you finally get to the building you're looking for, get in the bush near the road. You'll see two Guards to the north blocking your path to get around the north side of the building. Several Guards are across the street. Look for the dumpster and pickup truck near the road.

Make a dash for the dumpster. When you're safely behind it, go around the left side and get behind the truck. From here, follow the bushes along the south side of the building. Eventually you'll get to the east side of the building where the main doors are. Make sure the coast is clear before attempting to unlock the Doors as it will take a while.

Once you're inside, turn right and check the table by the open window to find the Antibiotics you need.

Follow Rikki to her bike and get on to go for a ride. After a small chat, you'll learn about what's up with Lisa and catch up on things. Before long, you'll be back with Boozer.

Now that you have Boozer with you and your back to ride on, put the two together and follow after Rikki back to Addy at the camp.

Sherman's Camp is Crawling

If you think that this easy life is what things are going to be like, you'd be wrong, and this mission is going to rectify that a little. It's certainly not the hardest by any means, but it'll ease you back into the world of the Freaks.

When you're ready, head up to the Infirmary to meet up with Addy before driving out to the Sherman's Camp Infestation. Before heading out, you may want to rest until daytime. Mark the infestation as a waypoint and follow the path. Park the bike and take a stroll into the camp area. As you do, you may finally get a call from O'Brian following up on Sarah... sort of.

Now that you're here, decide if you want to do the infestation while you're around. I recommend doing it as it's not that difficult, but I'll direct you to the infestation section of the guide for help on that.

Be careful walking into the main section of the camp; there's a nest right next to the gift shop, so there may be a couple of Swarmers wandering around. I also had a Wolf come out of nowhere unprovoked (in fact, I was in a building and it ignored me completely).

Find the building you need to get into and clear any Swarmers near it. Approach the building from the west side and look up to find a fire escape. Find the red Ladder on the right side and look at the right side of the ladder just above the floor of the catwalk. You should see a small Brake that's holding the ladder in place. Shoot it to get the ladder to drop down.

Climb up the ladder to get inside and head downstairs. When you get downstairs, turn right and go into the next room. You'll find the Liston Knife in a glass case against the wall. Return back to the foot of the stairs and unlock the door under the EXIT sign to leave.

When you're done in the area, head back to your bike and return to Iron Mike's. When you get there, get back to the infirmary and find Addy to complete the mission.
