Do You Remember?
Drugged Outta His Mind
When you get to your destination, you'll find a pond with a jeep in it. Go down to the jeep and start walking east. You'll find a body half submerged in the water. Check the body and you'll soon see your target.
Rush back to your bike, it's time for a chase!
You only have four things that you can do during vehicular combat: maneuver, shoot, ram and heal. Moving works just as it normally would, and to heal you can hold left on the D-pad. Ramming is equally pretty simple as you simply just run into the other bike to cause damage. Aiming requires you to hold down the L1 button. You don't have direct control of the aiming process, but the reticle will shrink to indicate a more accurate shot if you do a few things. Try to get as close as possible, drive as straight as possible, and pace your shots. The cadence for shooting is pretty slow, so take your time. Unlike most games with vehicular combat, you have very limited ammo, so making the most of every shot is crucial. |
Get back up to your bike and chase after the Drifter. Your goal is to destroy his bike without killing him. You'll see the health bar for his bike at the top of the screen. Keep pace with him, hold the L1 button to aim, and wait for the reticle to get very small before shooting. Try to only make the most ideal shots so as not to waste any of your limited ammo.
Once you've taken the bike out, move to the Drifter and you'll tie him up. Check around for anything of value and then you're free to ride out.

Out of Nowhere
With your prior task complete, it's time to find Leon's stash. Make sure to fuel up before heading out because we're headed pretty far away.
Set your waypoint for the Chasing Leon marker way up to the NE and then ride out.
When you get there, you'll reapproach the statue where your companion died and you'll find her body still slumped against the statue. Use your Survival Vision to inspect the area around here to get an idea of what happened. When you're done, toss a Molotov on her body to complete the "She Rode With Us" objective.
Storyline Update
- She Rode With Us
- 2,000 XP
- Chasing Leon – +16%
Check the front of the statue for a Tourism collectible called Peter Skene Ogden – "Fur Trade Warrior"
Walk into the cemetery through the large open gates nearby and turn left. On the path, you'll see a body on the ground that may have a Swarmer munching on it. Kill the Swarmer if there is one, and from here, turn to the left.
You should see a break in the wall of the walkway with a busted barrier blocking the way into that section of the cemetery. Climb the barrier and walk up to the Angel statue at the back. In front of the steps leading up, you'll find a Crowbar. Use your Survival Vision to find this clue.
After investigating, it, turn to the right and you'll see a ghastly Leon trying to open a sarcophagus. Push open that first one to find Leon's Stash, and get ready. Something wicked comes.
A chopper will appear overhead and shine a light down on the area, but you have something more pressing to deal with. It turns out that this cemetery is also an Infection Zone. There are some tall shrubs to the right of where you entered this section of the cemetery. Get over there and hide.
A Swarmer will likely take a stroll into the area. Kill it and slowly make your way back to your bike, making sure to watch for any other Freakers.
Strap the stash to your bike. Hop on and head for the first waypoint that appears. You'll get several waypoints in rapid succession leading up a hill to the chopper you've been looking for.

They're Not Sleeping
The people in the hazmat suits are pretty much indestructible. You'll need to sneak around without being seen. There are a lot of bushes. If you think you can't get to where you need to, you're probably missing a section of bushes. |
Crouch and walk down the path a little way. Select a rock from your Survival Wheel. Aim to the left of the guard at the bottom of the hill to draw him over. Once he turns away, make for the bush to the right of where he was.
After that, head down into the water and wrap around the rock to the left, but don't climb up just yet. Wait for any guards to receded and head for the bush just behind the tail of the chopper. You'll be at an intersection with a guard on the path to your destination and another patrolling around to your left.
Wait for the guard on the right to move along and then watch the guard directly in your way. Wait for that guard to walk up a little further and go up the path. Halfway to the other end of their patrol will be a bush on the right. Hop into it.
Wait for the guard to walk past and then make your way all the way up the path. You'll see more bushes up here and a raised platform to the left. Underneath that platform is a huge bush that runs to the left. Follow this bush under the platform as it wraps back to your destination. Get as close as you can to listen in.
Halfway through listening in, the two people will move along and you'll need to follow them. Follow through the bushes as the head to another section of the cave. Listen to the back half of the conversation and then get out.
Head back the way you came, but before you get back to the path leading downhill, take a right. You'll see a statue with a Tourism collectible. There aren't any bushes around it, but it's still easier to get this now than come back for it later.
Wait for the guard on the path to turn and start heading back down. Run up, read the statue, and then keep going into the next bush. If you read the statue, the icon will appear. If it didn't, you didn't read it long enough. This will earn you the Grotto Caves - "The Buried Caves" collectible.
Continue along the path and you'll come up to about where you threw the rock earlier. Wait for that first guard from earlier to finish his conversation. The second guard will walk away.
Ready another rock and make sure to toss it between them. It's important that you pay attention to which of the guards is highlighted. You want to make sure to only draw the attention of the guard that is closest to you. Toss the rock when the angle is right and then scoot up the path to where you started.
When you come out, you'll notice a building with a nest in it. Just for the moment, leave it alone, but make sure you have a Molotov ready as you proceed back to your bike. When you reach your destination, you'll unlock the trophy The Ends and the Means.
As soon as the cutscene ends, be ready to toss that cocktail. Details will follow below.

Clean Up
As soon as the cutscene ends, head back to the building with the nest and quickly lob a Molotov into it before hopping on your bike and riding away. That will knock out a Nest that you won't need to worry about later. Get out quick because Swarmers are pretty dense up here.
At this point, there's a couple of errands you can run up here if you want. You can finish the Cemetery Infestation Zone, or you can check out the Nero checkpoint slightly NNE of here along the main road.
I was running out of gas and decided to play it safe, so I can't verify the steps to finish either. More importantly, every Nero checkpoint I've visited has had a Gas/Fuel can to fill the generator nearby, but that can be used to fill your bike as well. I can't confirm there is one here, but if you need to fill up, it could be worth checking out.
On the way back down, watch out for an area to investigate. You may find one by the Fire Engine. This will lead to an ambush where you get captured. It's pretty easy to deal with, but it's worth noting in case you're running low on supplies.
Price on Your Head
We're going to be headed out to a new encampment. As with before, we're in for a little bit of a hike, but there will be more gas once we get back to "civilization." Head back to your HQ and fill up on gas before leaving. When you're ready, set your destination for the "Price on Your Head" mission way out to the west, and fast travel to the Nero checkpoint (Little Bear Lake) to the west.
When you arrive, you should recognize this place. Before continuing, find the nearby SUV that had the Gas Can earlier. Find it again and top off your bike.
Hop on your bike and ride through the tunnel. It'll be dark and there will be many obstacles, but it's mostly smooth sailing. Make sure to watch for the occasional Swarmer or two on the way. You should be able to ride right past them.
Before long, you'll find yourself coming along Crazy Willie's again. If you'd like to, you can tackle the Crazy Willie Infestation Zone. It's not necessary, but it will make this spot safer and open another refueling area for your use.
Regardless, once you're through, continue on to your destination. When you get there, you'll hop off the bike and have to walk up to the people you're supposed to talk to.
After the nice chat, you'll be able to poke around the Hot Springs camp. The mechanic is pretty bare-bones, but the Merchant will have weapons for sale. Check that out (it's required), and then head back to your back. At that point, you'll have to decide what to do with Leon's Stash.
Don't sweat this decision, there aren't any consequences to this decision. This is basically just a free bonus to your reputation with one of the two camps. Ultimately, you'll need to decide if you're more interested in the weapons that Hot Springs has to offer or the bike upgrades that Copeland has to offer. I'd suggest going with Copeland mostly because this is an incremental step and so are your bike upgrades. |

If not, it's time to head to Copeland. On the way to Copeland, make sure to stop at the Little Bear Lake Nero checkpoint to fill up on gas from the Gas Can.
Regardless of who you give it to. when the delivery is completed, you'll get the Special Delivery trophy.

What Did You Do?
Our next stop is pretty far to the NW, well past the Hot Springs camp. You have two paths to get there. The easier path is to travel to Hot Springs and head north, but keeping fueled up for free is a little more tedious. I would recommend heading north to the Horse Lake Nero Checkpoint unless you're already in the Hot Springs area.
There will be a bit to do on the way, including clearing the Horse Lake Nero Checkpoint, but none of it is necessary as long as you travel during the day. Each location will be mentioned here but covered in its own section since it's all optional. If you intend to handle the first Nero Checkpoint, which houses a huge number of enemies, make sure you take explosives. You'll want to be as stocked up on frag grenades, pipe bombs, and Molotovs as possible.
I would recommend resting before you head out to make sure you get as much daylight as possible. When you get to the Nero Checkpoint, if you're just driving through, stay away from the main train track leading over the bridge or you'll likely not live to regret it. After passing through the checkpoint, you'll come to another tunnel.
Tunnel Time
This tunnel is more ominous than dangerous. At the mouth of the tunnel, get off your bike and sneak in a little way. Ahead, you'll need to push a truck out of the way so your bike can pass, and about halfway to that obstacle, a Swarmer will be lurking. Kill it and push the car. Inside the nearby open trailer, you'll find Kerosene and two Scrap. The nearby blue sedan will have Ammo by the front passenger's side wheel.
With the obstacle moved, move along on your bike. There are some supplies scattered around that you can stop for if you like, but it's mostly just more Scrap.
Continue forward until you see jersey barriers and a truck blocking your way. Hop off of your bike. Two Swarmers will hop the barrier to attack you. Kill each in turn as they jump over, and then hop over the barrier yourself. From this side, you can push the truck out of the way. There should be a Rag on the ground to your right if you need it.
This will clear the rest of the tunnel for you and you're free to ride through to the exit. When you do, you'll come to Marion Forks Tunnel Nero Checkpoint.
Taking a Hike
This is a pretty quick checkpoint to clear if you want to do that. Once you're done, grab the Gas Can from the back of the flatbed truck (if you haven't moved it) and make sure to fill up your bike before heading west.
To the west, you'll come across the Marion Forks Infestation. During the day, this is a pretty easy Infestation to clear. The nests are fairly spread out, but there's an abundance of Gas Cans to use for the purpose.
Ride through the town, but be careful of a Drifter Ambush. I'm not sure if this is entirely scripted, but at the other end of town, you can take a left and approach what appears to be a farmhouse. There may be Drifters lying on the ground looking like bodies. If it's not scripted, then they could be setting up a trap anywhere in town.
Make sure you fuel up if you need to from one of the many sources in the town before riding out. The last bit of the trip is a bit of a lonely hike through some rugged terrain. Don't go off-road unless you can see where you'll be going lest you run yourself off a cliff.
There are also a few Swarmers that may be dormant at the various camping areas. These can be a bit tricky to navigate on your bike but try not to take too long or you may be attacked.
Finally, as you approach your destination, there are occasionally Wolves in the area, so watch out for them, especially at night.
New Enemy: Wolves |
If you need to fight with one, you need to keep moving. If you don't have a fairly powerful weapon, you may want to flee and return. Even several shots from a rifle won't bring it down. Automatic rifles or a shotgun are preferred for wolves. Remember to skin these enemies if you kill one. |
This is MY camp
The first section of the refugee camp is pretty safe. You'll hear some sounds, but most of it will be behind covered fences blocking line-of-sight, so if you crouch as you walk, they'll never know you're there. There are Swarmers that dot this camp, but it's rare for there to be more than two in any given area until much further into the camp.
Move forward to the first intersection, then take a left. Go through the gates and take cover behind the sandbags. Take a look around. There are two Swarmers in this section, one near where you are and one closer to where you entered the camp. Find them and kill them. Feel free to scrounge throughout the barracks here for supplies.
From this section, make your way to the west. You'll find a long but small NERO structure with the left door open. Just beyond this building is another yard filled with barracks and a Swarmer. Walk through the building to (carefully) enter this yard. Kill the Swarmer and check in front of the first barrack to the left to find a craft with Ammo inside.
Across from that barrack will be another that lines up with the fence. You'll have to go through it to get through the fence to the next yard. Do so and take a right. There will be two Swarmers in this direction. Try to mark them both so you can coordinate a stealthy attack.
After dealing with them, approach the NERO building just beyond and you'll find a Medkit sitting on a barrel by the corner of the building.
Wrap around the building and go through the hole in the fence to enter the last section of the camp.
Clean Sweep
Directly ahead, you'll find shrubs on either side of the path. Crouch into the bushes on the left and climb up the hill. There are nine Swarmers up in this section of the camp, and most of them patrol around by this point.
Be very careful from here. Mark as many of the Swarmers as you can from here, and wait for a patrol to come by. Make sure to kill the back most Swarmers in the patrol and work your way up.
The dead Swarmers can actually help distract new patrolling Swarmers because they'll stop to eat. Use this to your advantage, but be careful as these Freakers, in particular, seem particularly aware of their companions being killed nearby, even if they are out of sight and you're quiet.
If you need to run, remember that you've got a whole lower section of the camp to weave through and lose them.
Once you've cleared the nine Swarmers, head to the back corner of this area to find Sarah's gravestone.
After the cutscene, you'll get a Storyline update and you'll be able to leave more directly by going down the nearby path and pushing the SUV out from under the tree.
Storyline Update
- What Did You Do?
- 3,000 XP
- Hot Springs +750 Trust
- I Remember – 11%
The nearest fast travel spot that you can fuel up on is probably going to be either Hot Springs or the Nero Checkpoint at Marion Forks Tunnel.

These big enemies can be a fair bit tougher than even the Freakers. Wolves can close in fast and their grab attack can do a decent amount of damage even if you win the quick-time event.
