Marion Forks Tunnel
The Marion Forks Tunnel checkpoint is on the north end of the tunnel that starts at Horse Lake, north of the O'Leary Mountain Safehouse.
If you've done the Horse Lake Checkpoint, this one should be a breeze, especially during the day. The first order of business is to cut the wires for the Speakers here. There are four Speakers in total for this checkpoint.
You'll find two on the main Nero building as well as one on each of the two guard booths: one on the road into the tunnel and one is on the same road leading WNW. The two guard posts can be climbed onto from the ground while the Nero building can be climbed onto from the back by using the crates against the wall.
With that handled, you'll need to find a fuse in addition to the Gas Can. Check the east side of the camp near the tunnel entrance to find a trailer off the side of the road. You'll find the Nero Fuse at the back of the trailer in a crate on the floor. The Gas Can is found in the Army supply truck by the tunnel entrance. You'll find it at the back of the bed.
Looking at the front of the building, you'll find the Fuse Box just to the left of the giant "NERO" on the side of the building. Replace the fuse and then fill up the Generator at the far right side. Once the building is up and running, you'll find the following: a Medkit, a Rag, Sterilizer, a Nero Injector, and a Nero Recorder with the Mobile Medical Unit Recording - 0980.

Iron Butte Pass
This NERO Checkpoint is west of Crazy Willie's and SSE of the Hot Springs camp. This checkpoint has Rippers camping in it, but they're fairly spread out over a large area, so make sure to bring a silenced sniper rifle if you can.
When you get to the camp, approach from the north and stop by the first bush just outside the fenced area. Mark the enemies by the front gate and the Ripper atop the first building inside the fence. Stay in the bush closest to the fence and throw a rock at your feet to lure out any nearby guards. There should be two Rippers close enough to kill this way, just don't try to get both at the same time.
Once you've taken care of the two of them, go into the camp and climb up to kill the ripper on top of the first building, but be careful with your timing so you don't get caught. When he's down, hang towards the back corner of the building while you scope out the rest of the complex. Note the two Rippers by the NERO tent across the street, the guard on the far building, and the patrolling Ripper walking up and down the main street.
You'll be able to pretty comfortably snipe the Ripper on the far building (use your silencer). At this point, turn up the street and kill the Ripper patrolling the main road. Next, focus on the two by the tent. One Ripper will patrol down towards the guard booth while the other Ripper will walk slightly to the right towards a dumpster. Both will return towards the tent. Try to snipe them both while they are apart. Once one is taken care of, you can save ammo by stabbing the other. Finally, there's one more Ripper that is by the barracks tent to the South. Kill him however you like, but make note of the Gas Can along the north side of the tent next to the dumpster.
It's now safe to destroy the two Speakers on either guard booth, one by the NW entrance and the other by the NE entrance. You can also get the two Speakers on the first building you climbed. Climb the other NERO building and destroy the two Speakers on here as well. Finally, there's one more Speaker attached to the large floodlights (up on the light pole) SE of the generator. If you can't find it, you can follow the wires coming from the top of the generator. To destroy that, you'll need to shoot the speaker.
Head back to the generator, fuel it up, and press the button. It'll fizzle out, so you'll have to bust out your wrench to fix it. Before you flick the switch, follow the wires on top of the generator and make sure you got all of the speakers. Do so and hit the button again to get the lights on. If you got all of the speakers, a couple of Swarmers may appear, but you'll avoid as many as two Breakers finding their way into the camp.
The western building will hold the NERO Injector and NERO Recorder with Mobile Medical Unit Recording - 1788 as well as a Medkit. The east building will have Bandages, a Rag, a Beer Bottle, and Sterilizer.

West Belknap Research Sites - One
There are two Research Sites west of the Hot Springs along the cliffs. They go together as a pair, though each is its own site with its NERO Recorder and Injector. We're going to tackle the one directly west of the Hot Springs first.
Like many of the others, you'll have to make a jump across a gap to get to the site. Approach from the SE along the road and then follow it off onto a dirt path. After you land, go around the right side of the crash site to find a small ledge you can climb up on. Destroy the Anarchist Cairn just to the right as you pull yourself up and then make towards the back of the area.
This area will start to loop back around to the far side of the crash site. As you get closer to the end, you'll find a shredded corpse with an IPCA Tech and just beyond that will be a tent with 5 Scrap on the ground next to it. Near the edge, you'll find crates. On the left, you'll find the white crate with the NERO Injector and a Gas Can on the ground. To the right will be the NERO Recorder with Flight Data Recording - 2041 on a crate next to the tail of the chopper.
This Recorder will mention an event that happened nearby. This is referring to the other NERO Research Site. It's time to find that one, which is located NW of the Hot Springs.
No Storyline Update
West Belknap Research Sites - Two
Travel north from the last research site to find this one. You'll see a section of the mountains to the west creeping eastward. The "X" for the research site seems to be on or directly under a giant hill. Head to the road to the east and turn around. You'll see a small stream of water which will lead you right to the mouth of a cave.
Just outside of the cave, make sure to smash the Anarchist Cairn before heading in. Deep inside, you'll find a blinking red light next to a case with the NERO Injector and a NERO Recorder with Field Recording - 1577. If you have any trouble coming in or out of the cave, there are several melee weapons, including a Pickaxe, scattered around the bottom of the cave. Grab them if you're expecting a fight at the surface.
