Dark days are ahead in this zombie infested world.
Dead Nation is a cool survival horror game that's exclusive only to the Playstation Network brings you to a city that's dark and scary like no other. Many zombie games have been made over the past, but nothing gets more terrifying than this game. Wave after wave of zombies will come at you from different angles. There's the slow moving mindless one, the huge and muscular ones, and the fast running ones. Each zombies will give you something to think about as you approach them with different strategies as you try to survive each chapter.
This third person shooting zombie game with a Diablo like camera point of view can be really fun and worth your while once you get to play it. From the creepy atmosphere and the awesome gameplay, it will make you play it over and over again once in a while. The game has good graphics and great sounds, the game's atmospheric setting cant be any better and truly makes up for the game's lack in story. Let's take a look at the details.
The game's story is pretty none existing, it just gives you ten different missions to go from point A to point B. The game has two characters to choose from at the beginning of the game, but their stories and their ending is not that different. Both will have the same outcome. You can upgrade your weapons and explosive much like an RPG set up. But this game has no boss battles either or anything close to it. It's not that really important in this cool survival horror game. The action is what's important by killing different hordes of zombies in each unforgiving chapters. You can do this chapter missions alone or go at it with a friend. Either experience can be very satisfying and worth replaying again if you're going for a trophy run.
The sounds and graphics are pretty much the reason why this game was brought to life. This game has creepy sounds that you don't want to hear alone outside in the middle of the night. From scary sound that you hear from a distant to the gushy and squishy sound that each of your foot steps make whenever you walk through a pile of dead zombies that you killed in the street makes this nightmarish game come to life. The graphics is top notch either, the lighting effect is both dark and creepy that sets the mood right. Each gun and explosives that you use can be thunderous at times, making you feel like you really are in the game.
The control mechanics and gameplay of this game is also simplified to make it appealing to all types of gamers. From the casual gamers to the hardcore fanatics of a survival horror genre. Each gamers will surely fall in love with this game. You control your character like most do in a first person shooting games. The left and right analog stick is for walking and aiming, the R1 button is for shooting, R2 is for melee, and the L1 button is for grenades and land mines.
All in all, Dead Nation is a very terrific game for everyone. The intensity of this game's never ending action truly makes up for its minor flaws. Also, the replayability of this game is pretty decent because this game has a good list of trophy for each gamer to collect. And the game can also be played with a friend both offline and online. Purchasing this game in the Playstation Store online is a must for all PS3 owners. I highly recommend it.
