As a stat-boost junkie, I need to know. When are the best times to reincarnate / transmigrate a character level-wise?

  1. Getting a character's stats high enough to defeat those near-impossible side-bosses is the reason I'm asking this.

  1. BIG word of caution here, each reincarnation for a given character gets more expensive, following the formula 100 * 2^(n-1) where n is the number of transmigrations. this means, oh veteran grinders, that the 15th reincarnation and beyond hits the mana-cost-cap at 999,999 mana.

Also, Very Important, for maxing your guys is the new class world, you can only enter it a limited number of times per incarnation, so it is important not to miss any chances to go through there with your main primary team.

Finally, story characters aptitudes (i.e. 110% HP, 90% atk, that sort of thing) increase by 5% with each reincarnation to a max of +25% at 5 reincarnations.

Hope this helps you plan your grindage.

  1. Technically speaking, 9999 is the best time to transmigrate a character. However, that's incredibly hard to achieve, and really inconvenient. My recommendation is that you set a level 100 minimum. The more times you transmigrate, the higher you set your goal.

  2. I believe someone wrote some sort of guide on this subject. He/she wrote that about Lvl. 2000 was the most convienent/quickest way to max out stats/level. However, this was from Disgaea Afternoon/Hour of Darkness, and may not be true to this installment.

  3. transmigration is about 1/100th as effective as powering up items

you can do it, however the return on your investment isn't nearly as good as it is otherwise...

Since you have no cap on statiticians (level 300, 12 per item 4 items) you can get +9600% exp give or take to each kill... meaning that in 4 battles (or so I hear) you can reach level 9999 if you lay the foundation

at any rate, don't be concerned with that be concerned with making some uber item that will help you level and create other ubers (or just dupes)

  4. Yeah, in Afternoon of Darkness it was 2000, but in this game since reincarnation gets so expensive eventually it just won't even be worth it since you'll need so much friggin mana.

But no cap on statiticians?!?!? Holy crap is this something new to Disgaea? That is amazing!

  5. first time I do it around level 300-400, after that you do it around level 9000+

after you reincarnate, make sure to cap out their class world before you start leveling them again.

  6. Just stack 3 level 300 managers on the levelling person and you'll have the required mana to reincarnate before they hit level 9999.

  7. The first five times you reincarnate story characters you should do it as soon as possible because of aptitude bonuses, in all other cases, for best results, immediately clear the class world with characters that have much better stats, NOT the character who's class world, you're in, unless the other characters are WAY over powered. Anyway, as far as level goes, you should grind until level 9999, or until you get sick of it. Once you are bored out of your mind from endless battles without storyline, you should always stop grinding. I hope this wasn't a bit too long, I'm pretty new to giving suggestions online.
