  2. 1. You are not talking to Sony here. No one from Sony will ever see this. There's no point writing to them on GameFAQs answers.

    2. This is most likely a problem with your network setup. Not Sony. PSN is working fine for everyone else.

    3. This may not be immediately obvious to you, but PS3s give error numbers for actual reasons. If you would like help fixing your problem, you really should tell us the actual error, instead of saying "800-something". Lots of PS3 error codes start with 80.

  3. Hi- I'm sorry to open this back up- but I'm suddenly having the same problem (I suspect it's the same) it's error code 8001000A.
    It's not a network problem - I have 6 other devices all connected to same network with no problems. PS3 worked great until yesterday, suddenly I can't find my access point. Checked forums, only answer found is to reset to factory settings (r u fking kidding me? can't just reset network settings?) so I did... when I scanned for wireless access points, my network (and about 25 others in neighborhood) appeared. I selected, added appropriate info and voila... same error code. Tried again, now it doesn't see ANY wireless access points again.

    I'd appreciate if anyone has any insight.... the meantime, I have to rant for a moment;

    I'm pretty tech savvy and make a living in a tech heavy industry.... but If Sony wants a shot at infiltrating our home entertainment systems - they need to stop expecting that people should deal with archaic problems and cryptic error codes. Half of the "features" of the PS3 are hardly worth the trouble to someone that just worked a 12 hour day and just wants to play MW2 without hassle. If every other device connects to my network without issue, then it's the PS3s problem by default. It's bull. I love my PS3 but I'm seriously sick of the a**hole attitude it seems to have toward it's users- in every way. It may be powerful, and have sumof the best tech out there, but Sony as a fking mental block about making their stuff accessible for the average consumer. Sony, this is simple stuff - stop making it your customer's problem. IF AN ERROR CODE MEANS SOMETHING JUST FREAKING TELL ME WHAT IT MEANS!!!! It's 2010, I refuse to believe that my game system is so complicated that I should need IT support to make it do it's basic function.

  1. Without the full the Error code we can't help you.

    Considering how long ago this was posted and your EXTREME lack of interest in helping us to solve your problem all I can suggest is you call Sony.

    Please close this as It has been answered!

  2. * When you get this error, do your other wireless devices lose their connection for about 15 seconds?
    * Is your router a wireless-N router?

    If you have a single band wireless-N router you're going to have some issues when the PS3 tries to authenticate. Normally the wireless router freaks out and resets requiring all the other wireless devices to authenticate again.

    The best way to get around this is to change your router so that it operates in 'G' mode instead, or, get a dual band router.

    If you don't have a wireless 'N', then I don't know :(
