Where can I find moonstone for elven armour?

  1. Well you have two different questions here. To get moonstone you'll either want to mine it or buy it to get larger amounts. Here is a link to the mine locations: uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Mining
    Other than mining it yourself you should just buy it from armor workers/general traders. The best way to level smithing at first is usually just buying all the leather and iron and making daggers. The daggers can then be enchanted and sold to make a profit, which will let you buy more ore/metal to do this with again. As you level you can unlock other metals to work with, which will level you up faster.

  1. Another good way to easily level up smithing (if you have the gold) is to go to Markrath and talk to the orc that works at the forge. For a fee (200-300 gold) she will level up your smithing. It is expensive, but you can pickpocket it back from her, but she wil catch you. You can then go to Cihdna mine and take back your "stolen" goods by tkaing them from the evidince chest or if you are with the thieves guild you can bribe the gaurd then pickpocket the gold you bribe him with.
