Welcome! Super Robot Taisen MX!

BANPRESTO introduces another Super Robot Wars game after the highly anticipated SRW Alpha 2: Super Robot Taisen MX

The Graphics: 10/10

The graphics department is still the traditional BANPRESTO style but with some new additives. SRW MX introduces something new that has never been seen in past SRW series: 3D graphics of the Mecha’s on the map, another is the addition of new graphics especially designed for Combination Attacks, specifically the F Dynamic Special of Mazinger Z, UFO Robo Grendizer and Great Mazinger. This is also the first time I’ve seen a SRW series with a ‘DVD-movie feel’ to it, that basically makes me feel like I’m in an actual anime. Sweet.

The Sound: 10/10

The sound department regarding SRW games has always been top-notch, from the great attack sequences to the explosion sounds, to the BGMs that always play in a situation on cue just like clockwork and down to the awesome Voice Actings, Banpresto always holds true to its tradition: Total Entertainment for the Gamer. Terrific.

The Gameplay: 10/10

The gameplay department still features the same as it was in every SRW series, you can attack, defend or evade when the enemy attacks. You also still use SPells to power up your character or allies or power down your enemy with your SPells and some areas on the map can help provide added evasion or EN or HP regeneration. You use PP (Pilot Points) to improve your pilots skills, Skill Points to determine what level your next enemy will be like and you still upgrade your Mecha’s using currency (Super Robots or Real Robots). Extreme.

The Story: 9/10

The story in this game is very deep and adds another notch in BANPRESTO’S already highly-decorated belt. Although this game features only 2 story modes: 1 Super Robot Pilot & 1 Real Robot Pilot, the game is still oh so very entertaining because of new enemies and a new threat. Shhway.

Replayability Factor:

Even with just 2 main characters to choose from the replayability factor is still a definite high. The intriguing story will definitely pull you in to finish both pilots and as a bonus when you restart you gain money and PP on your next game. With many new Mechs added to an already impressive line up, the fun just never stops. Groovy.

Buy or Rent?

If you don’t understand the Japanese language and you don’t know or don’t wanna know a thing about Super or Real Robots, then just rent this game. But if you’re an Otaku of the highest caliber and you wanna know more about Super or Real Robots then this is a very cool item to get.
