Introduction

This FAQ is a simple character guide containing basic information.
The motivation for this guide comes from some confusion seen on the message
board. There is not really much to say here so on with the guide.

There is not much to say about Samanosuke. He is average in every way. He has
no real weaknesses but no real strong points either.

Shoryuken-Simple one hit diagonal leap.
Charge-A balanced 2 hit attack. The second hit stuns.
Stab-A balanced 2 hit attack. The second hit stuns. It also hits behind.
Hadouken-It travels along the ground,which makes it easier to avoid.
Dash-Launches the enemy. Very useful for buying time.
Sweep-A basic sweep.
Disarm-A basic disarm.
Kick-Has slight forward range.
Finisher-A basic finisher.
Jump-A basic jump attack. 
Fire-4 fireballs travel along the ground. A balanced attack.
Wind-Above average in all areas.
Lightning-An average attack. Nothing special.

Kaede

Available in-story,vs.,custom vs.
Kaede plays with an emphasis on speed. She is fast but her attack range is
very short. Use her speed to keep pressure on opponents.

4 Hit Combo-It is fast but lacks range. The last hit stuns.
Shoryuken-There is a long roll before the attack. Watch your distance.
Charge-A burst that hits in a short range. It increases her speed.
Stab-It hits 3 times. Fair damage.
Body Attack-A fast 4 hit combo. It ends with a sweep.
Dash-Has fair range. 2 kicks knockdown the enemy.
Sweep-Use it to buy time.
Disarm-It is short ranged.
Kick-Has slight forward range.
Finisher-A basic finisher.
Jump-A basic jump attack.
Fire-She launches herself at the enemy. Good for escapes. Has limited Range.
Wind-A balanced attack.
Lightning-It is short ranged.

Keijiro Maeda

Keijiro has range and power but lacks speed. keep opponents at your maximum
range.Faster characters can be a problem up close.

Dash- 2 quick cuts. Knocksdown the enemy.

Dash-It covers alot of ground. Knocksdown the enemy.
Sweep-A basic sweep.
Disarm-A basic disarm.
Kick-Good forward range.
Finisher-A basic finisher.
Jump-A basic jump attack.
Fire-A single fireball. An average attack.
Wind-An average attack all around.
Lightning-A slight lunge at the start covers more ground.

Jubei Yagyu

Another balanced character. He is not unlike Samanosuke.

Shoryuken-It hits 2 times. A stab forward than a jump. Good in a combo.
Charge-A balanced 2 hit attack. The second hit stuns.
Stab-A 2 hit attack. Watch that you don't miss with the first hit. If it does
not connect,the second kick will still happen,which will leave you open.
Hadouken-It travels along the ground,which makes it easier to avoid.
Dash-A short dash than attack. It knocks the enemy down.
Sweep-Has some vertical range.
Disarm-Has good vertical range.
Kick-Has good forward range.
Finisher-A basic finisher.
Jump-A basic jump attack.
Fire-A single fireball. Average all around.
Wind-An above average attack.
Lightning-Good lunge at the start. Otherwise good all around.

Shoryuken-Has tremendous range and hits behind. Abuse this attack.

Hadouken-A good attack. It does not travel along the ground.
Dash-Has great range.
Sweep-Another move with great range.
Disarm-Another great move with awesome range. Easily hits jumping opponents.
Kick-Slight forward range.
Finisher-An awkward attack. It is also slow.
Jump-Another move with great range.
Fire-2 flaming discs. It is a little slow.
Wind-An average attack.
Lightning-Great range. Can easily hit 2 opponenets with entire attack.

Kotaro Fuma

He is another character who uses speed over power. Use him in the same way you
would use Kaede.

Shoryuken-An average attack.
Charge-Like Kaede,a short burst that also boosts speed.
Stab-A long,fast dash that stuns.
Body Attack-Very fast 4 hit combo that stuns.
Dash-A dash then a flip. A bit slow.
Sweep-Use this to buy some time.
Disarm-A short range attack.
Kick-Great forward range with a leap.
Finisher-A slightly awkward and slightly slow attack.
Jump-His descending attack hits twice.
Fire-A homing fireball that snakes around hitting most targets.
Wind-Is short ranged,but is otherwise average.
Lightning-A long fast dash at the start can catch opponents off guard.

Marcellus

Available in-story,vs.,custom vs.
Marcellus is a power character. He is not fast but has good range and power.

3 Hit Combo-Is slow but has good range. The last hit kocks opponents down.
Shoryuken-A 2 hit attack. A stab then a lift. Works good in a combo.
Charge-2 powerful swings. It is slow but has good range. Causes knockdown.
Stab-A basic stab with good range but is slightly slow. Causes knockdown.
Hadouken-A good attack. It does not travel along the ground.
Dash-It is a bit slow but with good range. Causes knockdown.
Sweep-It is surprisingly fast with good range.
Disarm-Has incredible range.
Kick-A little slow, some forward range.
Finisher-A basic finisher.
Jump-A basic jump attack, but has fair speed for him.
Fire-A single slow moving fireball.
Wind-Average attack, slightly short range.
Lightning-Not much range at the start, but it can draw in enemies.

Three Eyes

Available in-story,vs.,custom vs.(is replaced in story and custom vs. by
Musaid than Giramusaid.) Three Eyes is another speed over power character.
Use him as you would use Kaede.

4 Hit Combo-An average combo. Causes stun. Watch for it's lag time.
Shoryuken-A standard Shoryuken.
Charge-A short range burst. It increases his speed.
Stab-A short range stab. It hits twice and causes knockdown.
Body Attack-Launches himself and spins. Will hit twice if close enough.
Dash-Short dash than a strike
Sweep-Short range but fast.
Disarm-A basic disarm.
Kick-Kind of awkward,but good forward range.
Finisher-Alot like Kaede.
Jump-Spins,can hit at any point in attack.
Fire-Launches a single fireball. An average attack.
Wind-Slightly better range than most.
Lightning-A slight lunge at the start gives it some range.

Jujudormah plays like Ekei. She has good range but is on the slow side.

Bag Slap-It has short range but it is fast and stuns.

Charge-It is a little slow but has good range and stuns.

Dash-Good range a little slow causes knockdown.
Sweep-Has good range.
Disarm-Has great range.
Kick-It is awkward but has great forward range.
Finisher-It is awkward and a bit slow.
Jump-Has good range like most of her attacks.
Fire-4 fireballs are launched. A slightly above average attack.
Wind-Has better range than some.
Lightning-Has good range at the start.

Zombie Warrior is like Grunt. He is an average character.

HOW TO UNLOCK-In story mode play as zombie warrior.Raise zombies character
level to level 2.Jaid will replace zombie.

a welcome upgrade over Zombie.

level 2.Musaid will replace 3 eyes.

is better in almost every way.

Stab-It is fast,has good range,hits twice and stuns. Also strikes behind.

Dash-Extremely fast and long range stab that stuns.
Sweep-An average sweep.
Disarm-An average disarm.
Kick-Has good forward range.
Finisher-An average finisher.
Jump-Hits twice while descending.
Fire-A flaming body attack not unlike Kaede's.
Wind-Slightly above average range.
Lightning-Great lunge at start.

Juju-Ran

HOW TO UNLOCK-In story mode play as Jujudormah. Raise her character level to
level 3. Finish story mode as level 3 Jujudormah.(if she does not seem to be
unlocked go to normal vs. Fight a match and win it.She will then fight you.
Defeat her to unlock her.)

Available in-story,vs.,custom vs. Juju-Ran is a finesse character. She is
not particularly fast or strong but has many useful attacks.

4 Hit Combo-Watch for the long lag between hits 2-3. The last hit stuns.
Shoryuken-An almost vertical shoryuken.
Charge-An average 2 hit attack that stuns.
Stab-A decent stab with good balance that stuns.
Hadouken-It travels along the ground making it easy to avoid.
Dash-A great attack that hits 4 times and stuns.
Sweep-A basic sweep.
Disarm-A disarm with fairly good vertical range.
Kick-A fairly fast kick.
Finisher-It is a bit slow and awkward.
Jump-A basic jump attack.
Fire-3 fireballs are hurled down after a jump. It has limited range.
Wind-An above average attack in all areas.
Lightning-It has a fairly good lunge at the start.

Power Marcellus
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HOW TO UNLOCK-In story mode play as Marcellus. Raise his character level
to level 2. To change Marcellus to Power Marcellus go to the weapon select
and switch it to style. Then choose power.

Available in-story and custom vs. only. Not available in normal vs.
Power Marcellus is an upgrade to Marcellus. This style is mostly better.

Disarm-It has tremendous range.
Kick-An average kick.
Finisher-An average finisher.
Jump-It has good range.
Fire-A single slow moving fireball.
Wind-An average attack.
Lightning-A short start but gains some range during the middle.

Speed Marcellus

HOW TO UNLOCK-In story mode play as Marcellus. Raise his character level
to level 3. To change to speed marcellus follow the same directions for
power marcellus.

Available in-story,vs.,custom vs. Speed Marcellus is definitely the best of
the 3 types of marcellus.

5 Hit Combo-Is great all around except for speed. Causes knockdown.
Shoryuken-A 2 hit shoryuken. A stab than a lift. Works well in combo's.
Charge-Has good range but is a bit slow. Hit's twice and causes knockdown.
Stab-A great multiple stabbing attack that stuns.
Hadouken-A good hadouken. It does not travel along the ground.
Dash-A little slow. It hit's twice and causes knockdown.
Sweep-It's fast and has good range.
Disarm-Has tremendous range.
Kick-It is awkward but has good forward range.
Finisher-A basic finisher.
Jump-Has good range.
Fire-A flaming slash. It is a bit slower than some.
Wind-An average attack.
Lightning-A decent lunge at the start. Can easily hit a second enemy.

Musashi Miyamoto

HOW TO UNLOCK- In story mode play as Grunt. Raise Grunt's character level to
level 3. Finish story mode with level 3 Grunt.

Available in-story,vs.,custom vs. Musashi is one of the best characters in
the game. He is above average in all areas.

7 Hit Combo-An all around great attack. The last hit stuns.
Shoryuken-A 2 hit shoryuken. Works well in combo's.
Charge-An all around good attack that hit's twice and stuns.
Stab-It is a little slow,but otherwise good. Hit's twice and stuns.
Hadouken-A great hadouken. It does not travel along the ground.
Dash-A short dash than a strike.
Sweep-It has good forward range.
Disarm-It hit's twice and has good vertical range.
Kick-Has slight forward range.
Finisher-A basic finisher.
Jump-A basic jump attack.

Lightning-An average attack until the very end,where it can hit behind.

Kojiro Sasaki

HOW TO UNLOCK- Play Musashi's story mode and defeat Kojiro at the end. Then
fight a vs. mode match. Win the match and Kojiro will fight you. Defeat him
to unlock him.

Available in-story,vs.,custom vs. Kojiro is another great character. He is 
more like Samanosuke and Jubei but slightly better.

Shoryuken-A basic shoryuken.
Charge-An all around good attack that hit's twice and stuns.
Stab-A better than average attack that hit's 3 times and stuns.

HOW TO UNLOCK-Finish story mode with Samanosuke. Fight a vs. mode match.
Win the match and MegaMan will fight you. Defeat him to unlock him.

Available in-story,vs.,custom vs. MegaMan is a great character. He is above
average in all areas and has some unique and useful moves.

Disarm-A basic disarm.
Kick-Has good forward range.

MegaMan EXE Ground Style

HOW TO UNLOCK- Play story mode as MegaMan and raise his character level to
level 2. To select style follow same directions as Marcellus.

Available in-story,vs.,custom vs. The ground style only changes 3 of MegaMan's
attacks.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Charge-Create's a large energy field.
Dash-A roll then a kick.
Finisher-It is a little slower than the normal finisher.

MegaMan EXE Bug Style
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HOW TO UNLOCK- Play story mode as MegaMan and raise his character level to
level 3. To select style follow same directions as Marcellus.

Available in-story,vs.,custom vs. The bug style changes a few moves.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Charge1-An attack like 3 fully charged shots.
Charge2-Creates a sort of force field.
Charge3-An attack like the ground style's.
Charge4-An attack like the normal style's.
Charge5-Nothing happen's and he is stunned for a while.
Dash-A drill like kick that hit's multiple times.

Zero
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HOW TO UNLOCK- To unlock Zero you must collect the 3 z-parts as MegaMan.
ZPART GREEN-Finish story mode with MegaMan.
ZPART RED-Clear the 5th floor of phantom realm 1.
ZPART BLUE-Clear the 10th floor of phantom realm 2.
After collecting the parts fight a vs. mode match and win it. Zero will fight
you. Defeat him to unlock him.

Available in-story,vs.,custom vs. Zero is another good character with great
and unique moves.

Proto Zero

HOW TO UNLOCK- Play story mode as Zero and raise his character level to
level 2.

Available in-story and custom vs. only. not useable in normal vs.
Proto Zero is the same as normal Zero. The only difference is that Proto Zero
has the highest attack stat of the 3 forms. 2 better than normal zero and
1 point higher than ultimate zero.

Ultimate Zero

HOW TO UNLOCK- Play story mode as zero and raise his character level to
level 3.

Ultimate Zero is the same as the other forms. The only difference is that
Ultimate Zero's Gun is alot stronger than the other 2.

Magoichi Saiga

HOW TO UNLOCK-Fight 200 normal vs. mode battles. You do not have to fight them
all in a row. Make sure to exit and save. After fighting the battles you will
fight Magoichi in vs. mode. Defeat him to unlock him.

Available in-story,vs.,custom vs. Magoichi is a unique character who uses
many gun attacks.

3 Hit Combo-2 physical strikes than a gun shot. The shot can be used at range.
Shoryuken-It has fairly short range.
Charge-3 gun shots. An all around great attack.
Gun-Works like MegaMan's.
Hadouken-Better than some as it does not travel on the ground.
Dash-A long range diving attack.
Sweep-Has a fairly short range.
Disarm-Very fast with forward range.
Kick-It has good forward range.
Finish-A basic finisher.
Jump-A basic jump attack.

Gogandantess

HOW TO UNLOCK-Finish story mode with Samanosuke,Kaede,Keijiro and Grunt.
Fight a vs. mode match and win it. He will then fight you. Defeat him to
unlock him.

Available in-story,vs.,custom vs. Gogandantess is another well rounded
character. Use him as you would Samanosuke.

4 Hit Combo-An all around good combo. The last hit stuns.
Shoryuken-A 2 hit shoryuken. A slash then a jumping attack. Good in a combo.
Charge-A fairly fast attack that causes knockdown.
Stab-An average stab that stuns.
Hadouken-It travels along the ground making it easy to avoid.
Dash-A short dash then a strike.
Sweep-Has some vertical range.
Disarm-Has great vertical range.
Kick-A fairly average kick.
Finisher-A bit awkward,huge lag if you miss.
Jump-A basic jumping attack.
Fire-5 large pillars of flame. Can only be dodged by plane shift.
Wind-An above average attack.
Lightning-An all around average attack.

Nobunaga Oda

HOW TO UNLOCK- Finish story mode with the 12 starting characters. Then fight
a vs. mode match and win it. He will than fight you. Defeat him to unlock him.

Available in-story,vs.,custom vs. Nobunaga is a great character. He is above
average in all areas,except speed.

3 Hit Combo-A great combo except for it's speed. The last hit stuns.
