In focus-testing of this game, Sony found that this game had the lowest scores of their entire repertoire in terms of interest before playing, and the highest scores of willingness to buy after playing. This was largely attributed to the difficulty in explaining the game to new players, despite how fun the game was. Harmonix even once was quoted saying that "We cannot market this game: no one wants to buy it unless they've played it."
