Banpresto - You've done it again

Finally, here it is - Super Robot Wars Impact, the 1st PS2 SRW series product of Banpresto. As usual, everytime Banpresto launch a product, there's always surprises and unexpected, SRW Impact is a perfect example brought into the new SRW generation.

Graphic & Sound/Music - 10/10
There's no better description for this game's graphic other than the word - 'fantastic'. With PS2, the graphics of SRW Impact is much improved compare to the previous series. With advanced battle visual aids, the characters and the sceneries become more realistic. There are more terrains (i.e. dessert) for you to fight on, provided more diversity and refreshing opportunities.

Japanese voice actors are world-famous for their emotional voice acting, SRW Impact brought you more voice actors from different series. It's your chance to hear your favourite character in speak.

Obviously, Music is much better compare to the other SRW games due to the aid of PS2. But this time, not all musics are available for you, you'll have to explore the game, collect different musics that are not in your collection. Doing so you're able to compile the music collections while enjoying the game.

Characters/Robots/Gundams - 10/10
SRW fans will LOVE this! Most familiar Robots/Gundams (i.e. Getta, Mazinger, Gundam G) are brought into Impact from the previous series (i.e. Alpha). But the story of Impact is completely individual on its own, therefore you don't have to worry about having trouble of understanding the story 'cause you have not played the previous series before.

The characters of the good old SRW are back once again! This time, their facial expressions are even more well-developed, even more realistic-appealing compare to previous series. More characters (i.e. Domon Kasshu) are added into Impact, these characters didn't play a part in the previous series, so if you happen to be one of their fans, be sure to catch a full glimpse of them while enjoying SRW Impact!

More Gundams and Robots are added to Impact. There are too many of them, and it's your job to explore and find out who they are :)

Storyline - 9/10
There are more than 100 scenarios in the game, what else can you possibly expect? After each mission, you have the chance to choose to play different sub-missions, each decision you make, will affect your later game experience (i.e. choosing specified route/mission allows you to gain access to hidden mechas/weapons). There are too many things you can do out there, but no matter what option you choose, after certain missions, you'll be re-directed to the main scenario again, so you don't have to worry about getting lost or missing certain scenarios. To sum it up, the game is quite linear, but there are also diversities within, awesome :)

Replay value - 10/10
I wish I can add more to this section, but there isn't, is there :p ? To complete your mecha/music collections will keep you busy for quite awhile, it's not just the matter of going through the game once or twice, it might take you five or six tries to get what you want. But the opportunity for replaying the game is enormous, definitely worth you SRW fans' time and effort.

Overall
Talk about my own experience, I started SRW when I first came in contact with SRW-Alpha, very soon I was totally addicted and being a fellow follower of the SRW series ever since. When I first got the game, I knew it will rock, and I was right about it. The difficulty level is slightly higher than Alpha, adding more challenges to your gameplay. And not to mention the 100+ scenarios & replay value. Having gone through the review...what are you waiting for? Go get the game and try it out!
