                              1. Introduction                            [INTR]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
          ===========================================================
This guide aims to provide a listing and detailed discussion of the important
choices that can be made in this game, and especially an analysis of those
choices which lead to conflicting objectives or prizes.
There are certain objectives and items which are incompatible with each other
(i.e., it is not possible to obtain all of them in a single playthrough). The
purpose of this guide is to help players understand the available choices and
the conflicts resulting from those choices, and to assist in deciding which
objectives and prizes to go after.
This guide consists of four main sections. First is the Chronological Choices
List, which lists the relevant decision points in roughly chronological order
and provides a more-or-less brief analysis of each. Second is the Multi-Event
Choices section, which presents a somewhat more comprehensive analysis of those
(generally more complex) choices which are spread over multiple decision
points. Third is the Prize Conflict Lists section, which will list the
incompatibilities between the various objectives and prizes covered by this
guide. Fourth is the Efficient Playthroughs section, which presents efficient
combinations of choices which will result in getting as much as possible in
each playthrough. At the end you will find a list of resources which were
useful in creating this guide and which I strongly recommend, especially if you
want 100% completion or Mascot, and to ensure you can blame the desired culprit
in Rin's Mi'ihen Mystery.
The intended target audience of this guide is players who are already at least
somewhat familiar with the game, but, in conjunction with other resources, it
could also be useful to first-time players. This guide might contain very mild
spoilers.
Much information in this guide, especially regarding the requirements for some
items and objectives, has been gleaned from a variety of sources, which are
listed in the Credits and References section. I have personally verified much
of this information, but not all of it, and errors are quite possible. Any
errors are due to my failure to thoroughly test and confirm everything.
If you have any corrections or suggestions (especially corrections of errors),
please contact me; my contact information is at the bottom.
---------------------------------------------
| What This Guide Does Not Cover     [WNOT] |
---------------------------------------------
This guide does not list (or even come close to listing) all possible choices
that can be made in the game. In particular:
1. The guide does not include all prerequisites for 100% completion and Mascot.
You must still meet all of the conditions for these if you want them. See the
Credits and References section for guides that are very helpful in meeting
these objectives.
2. This also does not include all prerequisites for blaming the various
suspects in Rin's Mi'ihen Mystery. For example, you must still meet all of the
prerequisites for blaming Rin if you want him to be found guilty. The Credits
and References section includes a guide that lists all of these prerequisites
and details how to blame each culprit.
3. I do not include choices that don't really matter for anything. For example,
whether or not Yuna remembers characters she met in FFX is not included,
because these choices don't have any important consequences.
4. I also do not include choices where the game asks you whether or not to
start a mission. You can generally say no and then come back and start the
mission later, but in some cases this might prevent you from getting 100% in
one playthrough.
5. This guide generally does not include choices of whether or not to do a
mission at all, unless there's some specific benefit from skipping a mission.
For example, you can choose to do or skip the Besaid Gunner's Gauntlet mission
in Chapter 2. Doing this mission is a requirement for 100% (not to mention the
garment grids and accessories you can win as prizes). However, skipping the
mission provides no benefit except not having to bother with it, so it's not
included here.
6. Also not included, generally speaking, are choices of whether or not to
complete a mission "successfully" or "perfectly." For example, in the Floating
Ruins in Chapter 1, you can either get to the top within the time limit, or
fail to do so. Getting to the top within the time limit is a requirement for
100% completion, and is also needed to get an accessory as a prize. Failing to
reach the top in time means you'll lose out on those things, and provides no
benefit except not having to worry about time in that mission, so this "choice"
is not included.
--------------------------------------------
| A Note on Version Differences     [DIFF] |
--------------------------------------------
There are basically three versions of FFX-2: (1) the original PS2 version, (2)
the Japanese International + Last Mission version for PS2, and (3) the HD
Remaster versions for PS3, PS4 and PC.
The information in this guide is applicable to all versions of the game.
However, the International and HD versions introduce additional ways (through
the Creature Creator / Fiend Arena) to acquire a few of the prizes covered in
this guide, even if you do not meet their prerequisites in the storyline.
These alternative ways to obtain these prizes will not be listed in the main
sections of the guide, but, for your information, I will list here which items
covered in this guide can be obtained from the Creature Creator / Fiend Arena,
and how to obtain them that way:
Mascot: won as a prize for beating the Youth League Cup for the first time.
Key to Success: random prize for beating the Farplane Cup.
Enterprise: (1) beat the Sphere Break Elites in Luca (playable after completing
   Varan's fiend tale), (2) common drop from the Unum and Tria parts of Major
   Numerus.
Minerva's Plate: random prize for beating the Chocobo Cup.
Ragnarok: (1) beat the Sphere Break Elites in Luca (playable after completing
   Varan's fiend tale), (2) random prize for beating the Farplane Cup, (3) rare
   drop from Almighty Shinra.
In addition to the above, one of the choices addressed by this guide has an
additional consequence if playing the International or HD version.
Specifically, giving the Awesome Sphere to the Youth League is necessary in
order to be able to capture Lucil and Nooj (and possibly Elma as well) in the
Creature Creator. If you side with New Yevon, you will not be able to capture
them until your next playthrough.
----------------------------
| Abbreviations     [ABBR] |
----------------------------
For convenience I use a few abbreviations throughout this guide:
100%: When I say 100%, I mean obtaining 100% completion in a single
   playthrough. Getting 100% and the "perfect ending" is always possible in New
   Game+. However, getting 100% in a single playthrough requires meeting a
   great number of conditions. See the Credits and References section for a
   very helpful guide if this is your goal.
GG: Garment Grid
DSP: Dressphere
EpCom: Episode Complete. To obtain Mascot, you must achieve Episode Complete in
   every area in Chapter 5.
                       2. Chronological Choices List                     [CHRO]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
          ===========================================================

This section presents a roughly chronological list, in chapter order, of the
relevant choices you can make in the game. This is a listing of discrete events
and the choices you can make in each. For a fuller explanation of choices and
conflicts spread over multiple events, see the Multi-Event Choices section.

===============================================================================
| 2.1 Chapter 1                                                        [CCH1] |
===============================================================================

--------------------------------------
| Mushroom Rock: Maechen     [1MAE1] |
--------------------------------------

At Mushroom Rock you'll meet Maechen. There are four choices you can make here:
(1) whether or not to listen to his story in the first place, (2) whether or
not to interrupt him while he's speaking, (3) if you do choose to interrupt
him, whether to ask him to "go on" (which skips to the next segment of the
story) or to stop, and (4) whether or not to shake his hand after he's done
speaking.

If you ask him not to tell his story, or if you interrupt him, you'll always be
able to have him start the story from the beginning again. But if you refuse to
shake his hand, you won't get another chance.

These choices affect only the possibility of 100% completion. If you want 100%,
you must listen to his story, don't interrupt him at all, and shake his hand at
the end. For 100%, you must also listen to Maechen's stories in Guadosalam in
Chapter 3, and in Zanarkand in Chapter 5.

--------------------------------------------
| Mushroom Rock: Clasko, Part 1     [1CL1] |
--------------------------------------------

You'll also meet Clasko at Mushroom Rock, and, after the mission here is
completed, you can choose whether or not to invite him on board the Celsius.

The only thing that really requires inviting Clasko on board the Celsius here
is 100%. If you don't let him board, you cannot get 100% completion in one
playthrough.

If you invite him on board, then when you do the Chapter 2 Mi'ihen mission,
he'll come down to help out, which will give you more time to reach the Chocobo
Eater at the end of that mission (making the mission a bit easier). If you
don't let him board, you can still have him help in that mission, but you'll
need to talk to him at Mushroom Rock in Chapter 2 first.

Unlocking the Chocobo Ranch later in the game (which is required for all sorts
of things) is still possible regardless of what you do here. However, if you
don't talk to Clasko at all here, you'll need to talk to him at Mushroom Rock
in Chapter 2 in order to unlock the Chocobo Ranch later.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
|                       | Invite | Don't invite | Don't talk to him |
|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
| 100%                  | YES    | no           | no                |
| Ch2 Mi'ihen time (*1) | YES    | YES (*2)     | YES (*2)          |
| Chocobo Ranch         | YES    | YES          | YES (*2)          |
|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) You'll be given more time to reach Chocobo Eater during this |
|         mission                                                   |
| (*2) Must talk to Clasko at Mushroom Rock in Chapter 2 |
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Note that you must complete the mission here in order to obtain the Heart of
Flame GG and Restless Sleep GG. You must at least start the mission to obtain
Crimson Sphere 9, which is required to obtain the Supreme Light GG and Magical
Dances, Vol 1 at the Den of Woe in Chapter 5.

-------------------------------------------
| Djose: Interview with Gippal     [1GIP] |
-------------------------------------------

When you speak with Gippal, you're asked if you're sure you want to go digging.
You must answer affirmatively in order to receive the Letter of Introduction
key item, which is needed to dig in Bikanel. This is actually mandatory; the
only choice to be made is whether to tell Gippal yes in Chapter 1 or in Chapter
2. If you tell him no, you'll be able to tell him yes later in one of the rooms
in the temple.

If you want 100% or the Still of Night GG, you must get the Letter of
Introduction and complete the "Can You Dig It?" mission in Bikanel in Chapter
1.

------------------------------------------------------------
|                        | Chapter 1 (*1) | Chapter 2 (*2) |
|----------------------------------------------------------|
| 100%                   | YES            | no             |
| Letter of Introduction | YES            | YES            |
| Dig in Bikanel         | YES            | YES            |
| Still of Night GG | YES | no |
|----------------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) Tell him yes now in Chapter 1 |
| (*2) Wait until Chapter 2 to tell him yes |
------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------
| Moonflow: Tobli's Chest, Part 1     [1TC1] |
----------------------------------------------

This is the first branch in the series of choices related to the contents of
Tobli's chest in Guadosalam in Chapter 5, which also impacts your ability to
get 100%, Mascot, Minerva's Plate, Enterprise, and a few other things.

There are basically three options here: (1) start the mission by talking to
Tobli first then complete it perfectly, (2) start the mission by talking to the
Hypello first then complete it perfectly, or (3) skip the mission. (There are
actually more than three possibilities, since you could choose to complete the
mission less than perfectly by failing to save all the bags, but doing so
provides no benefit and reduces your rewards, so don't do that.)

100%: You must complete this mission perfectly, and talk to Tobli first.

Mascot: You must complete this mission perfectly, but you can start it by
talking to either Tobli or the Hypello.

Key to Success: You can do anything here, though if you skip the mission you'll
need to do at least one of the two related missions later in Chapter 2. If you
don't want to do either the Moonflow or Macalania missions in Chapter 2, then
you must complete this mission perfectly (talking to either Tobli or the
Hypello first is fine) to get Key to Success.

Minerva's Plate: You must complete this mission perfectly, and talk to the
Hypello first. Then you can pick up your Minerva's Plate after completing the
Chapter 2 Macalania mission by talking to the Hypello there.

Enterprise: You must skip this mission. Then you can pick up your Enterprise on
the Celsius at the beginning of Chapter 2 by pushing Tobli into the elevator.

Gun Mage DSP: You must either complete this mission now (you can talk to Tobli
or the Hypello first, and you don't have to do it perfectly), or skip it and
complete the Chapter 2 Moonflow mission.

Helios Guard GG: You must complete this mission perfectly (it doesn't matter
how you start it).

Base price in Chapter 2 Moonflow mission: If you complete this mission by
talking to Tobli first, the base price (for ticket sales) during the Chapter 2
Moonflow mission will be 500 (meaning it will be easier to make a profit during
that mission, and you'll make more profit). Otherwise, the base price will be
1000.

To assist your decision, here's a comparison of the three accessories at stake
here:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
|                 | HP    | MP    | STR | MAG  | LCK  | auto-ability          |
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Key to Success  | +100% | +100% |     |      | +100 | Double All (*1)       |
| Minerva's Plate |       | +100% | -80 | +100 |      | Nitro Black Magic (*2)|
| Enterprise      |       |       |     |      |      | Break HP Limit (*3)   |
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) Doubles amount of EXP, AP, gil and items after battle, and doubles |
| effectiveness of recovery and attack items |
| (*2) Can use black magic you've learned, black magic charge time reduced by |
| 40%, no EXP or AP after battle |
| (*3) HP can exceed 9999                                                     |
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------
|                 | Tobli first | Hypello first | Skip     |
|----------------------------------------------------------|
| 100%            | YES (*1)    | no            | no       |
| Mascot          | YES (*1)    | YES (*1)      | no       |
| Key to Success  | YES (*1)    | YES (*1)      | YES (*2) |
| Minerva's Plate | no          | YES           | no       |
| Enterprise      | no          | no            | YES      |
| Gun Mage DSP    | YES         | YES           | YES (*3) |
| Helios Guard GG | YES         | YES           | no       |
| Ch2 base price  | 500         | 1000          | 1000     |
|----------------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) 100%/Mascot and Key to Success will later become |
|         mutually exclusive                               |
| (*2) Must complete either Moonflow or Macalania mission |
|         in Chapter 2                                     |
| (*3) Must complete Moonflow mission in Chapter 2 |
------------------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------
| Macalania: O'aka, Part 1     [1OA1] |
---------------------------------------

This is the first branch in the series of choices related to O'aka. There are
three options here: (1) complete the mission and invite O'aka on board the
Celsius, (2) complete the mission and hand O'aka over to the Al Bhed, or (3)
skip the mission.

Taking him on board the Celsius here (in Chapter 1) is required for 100%
completion. The other major benefit, O'aka and Wantz opening up shop in
Macalania in Chapter 5 (with an excellent inventory), is possible regardless of
what you do here. If you hand him over to the Al Bhed, you can rescue him from
Bikanel in Chapter 2. If you skip this mission in Chapter 1, you can do it in
Chapter 2 instead.

Note that if you want the Ice Queen GG, you must complete this mission, either
now or in Chapter 2.

-------------------------------------------------------------
|                  | Invite on board | Hand over | Skip     |
|-----------------------------------------------------------|
| 100%             | YES             | no        | no       |
| Ch5 O'aka's shop | YES (*1)        | YES (*2)  | YES (*3) |
| Ice Queen GG     | YES             | YES       | YES (*3) |
|-----------------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) Must pay off his debt before visiting Macalania in |
|         Chapter 3                                         |
| (*2) Must rescue him from Bikanel in Chapter 2 |
| (*3) Must complete this mission in Chapter 2 |
-------------------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------
| Calm Lands: Publicity Campaign     [1PUB] |
---------------------------------------------

The choice of which company to campaign for might seem like a significant
choice, but it's not really. The list of items you can trade credits for is
different for each company, and each company has a unique garment grid you can
trade for at PR level 5. Also, each company has a unique additional minigame
you can unlock in Chapter 5 by getting that company up to at least level 3.

However, it's possible to "choose both" and get everything by getting up to
level 5 in both companies. Doing so is somewhat time-consuming, and will
require losing some credits in the Calm Lands minigames, but it's definitely
doable.

For those who don't want to do that, however, here are the important
differences:

Open Air: Disaster in Bloom GG (level 5), Gull Force minigame (level 3).
Argent: Flash of Steel GG (level 5), Feed the Monkey minigame (level 3).

And here's a comparison of the two garment grids you can trade for:

Disaster in Bloom: No effect on equip. Can acquire Sleeptouch, Silencetouch,
   Darktouch, Poisontouch, and Stonetouch by passing through gates.
Flash of Steel: STR+20 and MAG+20 on equip. Can increase STR and MAG by an
   additional 40 each by passing through gates.

Some of the other accessories that can be traded for are nice, but not unique.
You must reach level 5 with at least one of the companies in order to obtain
100% and Mascot.

| Gagazet: Kimahri and Trainer DSP, Part 1 [1KT1] |
-------------------------------------------------------

When you talk to Kimahri here, you'll have a choice of three responses in
dialogue. Your choices here and in a similar conversation in Chapter 2
influence whether or not you obtain the Trainer DSP in Chapter 3.

The best response here is "You have to figure this out on your own." If you
choose the best response here in Chapter 1, you'll be able to obtain the
Trainer DSP regardless of your choice in Chapter 2. If you choose one of the
other responses (or skip the conversation) in Chapter 1, it's still possible to
obtain the Trainer DSP, but you'll have to choose the best response in Chapter
2.

-----------------------------------------------
| Gagazet: Ronso Responses, Part 1     [1RN1] |
-----------------------------------------------

Here you'll have a choice of responses in dialogue seven of the Ronso. Your
responses here influence a battle in Chapter 3.

"Good" responses: Can have "easy version" battle with Garik in Chapter 3 if you
   also give "good" responses in Chapter 2.
Other responses: Will have "hard version" battle with Garik in Chapter 3.

The "good" responses in this chapter are:

 - We'll take care of Lian and Ayde.
 - I will never forget their sacrifice.
 - Leave it to the Gullwings!
 - I wouldn't forgive them either.
 - I can imagine how you must feel...
 - I'm sure you're right.
 - A change for the better, I hope.

----------------------------------------------
| Zanarkand: Cid's Soul Searching     [1CID] |
----------------------------------------------

You'll meet Cid here and will have a choice of two different responses to give
him. Telling him "you bet I do" is required for 100% completion, but there's
no other benefit.

If you say "you bet I do," Cid will appear on the Thunder Plains during both
Chapters 2 and 3. If you say "not really," he will appear on the Thunder Plains
only during Chapter 3, not Chapter 2.

You bet I do: 100% is possible.
Not really: 100% is not possible.

------------------------------------------------------
| Zanarkand: What is the meaning of life? [1ISA] |
------------------------------------------------------

Toward the end of this area you'll be confronted by an intimidating voice, who
is really Isaaru. He'll ask you a question and you'll have a choice of multiple
responses. The best answer is "Is that you, Isaaru?" which will get you the
Heart Reborn GG.

Is that you, Isaaru?: Heart Reborn GG.
Anything else: No Heart Reborn GG.

--------------------------------------
| Kilika: Password Tricks     [1PAS] |
--------------------------------------

Upon exiting Kilika Woods, you'll be required to pass through a series of
checkpoints where you'll be asked for a password. If you give the correct
password every time, you'll earn a GG at the end. If you give any wrong
passwords, you'll have to fight a battle and you won't get the GG.

You can see a scene with a clue to the correct passwords by choosing to take a
peek at the guards at a certain point in the woods.

The correct passwords, in order, are: Craven Monkey, Carved Monkey, Craven
Monkey, Carved Monkey, Carved Monkey.

All correct passwords: Menace of the Deep GG.
Any incorrect password: No Menace of the Deep GG.

--------------------------------------
| Celsius: Awesome Sphere     [2SPH] |
--------------------------------------

Here you'll have to decide whether to give the Awesome Sphere to the Youth
League or New Yevon. This is presented as one of the major choices of the game,
and it affects many things, but most of them are pretty minor. The major
differences are:

100%: Only possible if you give the sphere to the Youth League.

Chapter 2 Mushroom Rock and Shining Mirror GG: If you give the sphere to New
Yevon, there is an additional mission you can participate in during Chapter 2
in Mushroom Rock, which is not available if you choose the Youth League.
Completing this mission earns you the Shining Mirror GG.

Chapter 2 Bevelle and Cat's Bell: You can find Pacce in Bevelle in Chapter 2,
and obtain the Cat's Bell accessory from him, only if you give the sphere to
New Yevon. (Note that there are other ways to acquire this accessory.)

Chapter 3 Bevelle and Blood of the Beast GG: Giving the sphere to New Yevon
will give you access to the depths of Bevelle early in Chapter 3 (before
completing the Besaid and Kilika missions), where you can get the Blood of the
Beast GG from Pacce. If you side with the Youth League, you can't access that
part of Bevelle until later in Chapter 3, and so can't get the GG.

Chapter 5 Mushroom Rock and Nooj's Sphere: If you choose the Youth League,
you'll be able to participate in an extra mission at Mushroom Rock during
Chapter 5, which is not available if you choose New Yevon. Completing this
mission allows you to claim Nooj's Sphere.

In summary:

----------------------------------------------------
|                       | Youth League | New Yevon |
|--------------------------------------------------|
| 100%                  | YES          | no        |
| Shining Mirror GG     | no           | YES       |
| Cat's Bell            | no (*1)      | YES       |
| Blood of the Beast GG | no | YES |
| Nooj's Sphere         | YES          | no        |
|--------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) This accessory can also be obtained in |
| Chapter 5, in Kilika and the Calm Lands |
|         secret dungeon                           |
----------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------
| Mi'ihen: Catching the Chocobo Early     [2ERL] |
--------------------------------------------------

During the Mi'ihen chocobo catching mission, there's a segment where you're
supposed to guess which direction the chocobo is going to run in order to stop
it.

What normally happens here is that you'll attempt this several times, and then
the chocobo will eventually get past you and you'll move on to the next segment
of the mission. However, it's actually possible to catch the chocobo here if
you guess correctly too many times without guessing incorrectly, in which case
you'll skip a segment of the mission.

This is actually bad for a couple of reasons: you can't get 100%, and you miss
one of the prerequisites for blaming Rikku in Rin's Mi'ihen Mystery (which is
required to obtain the Ragnarok accessory). Therefore, if you care about those
things, you should make sure you mess up a few times in this segment of the
mission.

-------------------------------------------------------
|             | Don't catch it early | Catch it early |
|-----------------------------------------------------|
| 100%        | YES                  | no             |
| Blame Rikku | YES                  | no (*1)        |
| Ragnarok    | YES                  | no (*1)        |
|-----------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) Actually I think it's still possible if you do |
| everything else exactly right, just much |
|         more difficult                              |
-------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------
| Mi'ihen: Chocobo Eater Time Limit     [2ETR] |
------------------------------------------------

Another choice to be made during this mission is whether or not to reach the
Chocobo Eater within the time limit. If Clasko comes to help here (which will
happen if you brought him on board the Celsius in Chapter 1, or if you talked
to him in Mushroom Rock in Chapter 2 before doing this mission), the time limit
will be extended, but there's plenty of time to reach the Chocobo Eater in
either case.

If you reach the Chocobo Eater within the time limit, Calli will catch her
chocobo, and it will be possible to blame Rikku (but not Calli) in Rin's
Mi'ihen Mystery. If you do not reach the Chocobo Eater in time, Calli will not
catch her chocobo, and it will be possible to blame Calli (but not Rikku).

-----------------------------------------------------------------
| | Get there in time | Don't get there in time |
|---------------------------------------------------------------|
| 100%            | YES               | no                      |
| Blame Rikku     | YES               | no                      |
| Ragnarok        | YES               | no                      |
| Blame Calli     | no                | YES                     |
| Selene Guard GG | YES               | no                      |
-----------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------
| Mi'ihen: Clasko and Calli     [2CAL] |
----------------------------------------

The last choice you're faced with here is whether or not to invite Calli (and
Clasko, if he came to help) on board the Celsius after the mission. This
decision has a few consequences:

100%: You must invite Clasko and Calli on board the airship.

Rin's Mi'ihen Mystery: If you reached Chocobo Eater within the time limit, it
doesn't matter whether or not you allow them to come on board. You can blame
Rikku either way, as long as you meet her prerequisites. However, if you did
not reach Chocobo Eater within the time limit, you must not invite Calli (and
Clasko, if he's here) on board the Celsius, or you won't be able to blame
Calli.

Chocobo Ranch: If you want to be able to unlock the Chocobo Ranch in Chapter 2,
then Clasko must be here, and you must invite him and Calli on board. If you
don't, you won't be able to unlock the Chocobo Ranch until Chapter 3. If Clasko
is not here, that means you didn't pick him up in Chapter 1 and haven't talked
to him at Mushroom Rock in Chapter 2 yet, which means you won't be able to
unlock the Chocobo Ranch until Chapter 3.

---------------------------------------------------------------
|                   | Invite on board | Don't invite on board |
|-------------------------------------------------------------|
| 100%              | YES (*1)        | no                    |
| Blame Calli       | no              | YES (*2)              |
| Ch2 Chocobo Ranch | YES (*3)        | no                    |
|-------------------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) Only if you invited Clasko on board in Chapter 1 and |
| you reached Chocobo Eater in time |
| (*2) Only if you didn't reach Chocobo Eater in time |
| (*3) Only if Clasko is here |
---------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------
| Mushroom Rock: Clasko, Part 2     [2CL2] |
--------------------------------------------

If you invited Clasko on board the Celsius in Chapter 1, he won't be here now.
However, if you didn't talk to him in Chapter 1, or you chose to not invite him
on board, then he'll be here now, and you'll need to decide whether and when to
talk to him.

There are three options: (1) talk to him before completing the Mi'ihen mission,
(2) talk to him after (or without) completing the Mi'ihen mission, or (3) don't
talk to him.

If you talk to him before completing the Mi'ihen mission, then he'll show up
during that mission to help and you'll have more time to reach the Chocobo
Eater. You'll also be able to invite both him and Calli on board the airship
after that mission, and will need to do so if you want to unlock the Chocobo
Ranch in Chapter 2 instead of Chapter 3.

If you talk to him after completing the Mi'ihen mission, you obviously won't
have had his help in that mission, and the Chocobo Ranch will be unlocked in
Chapter 3.

If you choose to not talk to Clasko here in Chapter 2, you'll still be able to
unlock the Chocobo Ranch in Chapter 3, as long as you at least talked to him in
Chapter 1. However, if you don't talk to Clasko at all in either Chapter 1 or
Chapter 2, then you will not be able to unlock the Chocobo Ranch at all, and
you'll miss out on quite a few things. So don't do that.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
|                       | Before Mi'ihen | After Mi'ihen | Skip     |
|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Ch2 Mi'ihen time (*1) | YES            | no            | no       |
| Chocobo Ranch         | Ch2 (*2)       | Ch3           | Ch3 (*3) |
|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) You'll be given more time to reach Chocobo Eater during this |
|         mission                                                   |
| (*2) Only if you invite Clasko and Calli on board after the |
|         Mi'ihen mission; otherwise Chocobo Ranch won't be         |
|         unlocked until Chapter 3                                  |
| (*3) Only if you at least talked to Clasko in Chapter 1 |
---------------------------------------------------------------------

For your information, if you fail to unlock the Chocobo Ranch at all, you'll
miss out on the following items:

 - Alchemist DSP: must complete Clean Sweep mission at the ranch
 - Font of Power GG: must unlock the Mi'ihen secret dungeon with a chocobo
 - Higher Power GG: must find Calm Lands secret dungeon by dispatching chocobos
 - Highroad Winds GG: must complete Clean Sweep mission at the ranch
 - Horn of Plenty GG: must unlock Bikanel's Central Expanse with a chocobo
 - Mounted Assault GG: can only obtain by dispatching chocobos
 - Strength of One GG: can only obtain by dispatching chocobos
 - The End GG: must unlock Mi'ihen secret dungeon to fight King VERMIN!
 - The ABC's of Repair: must open Calm Lands secret dungeon with chocobos
 - Desert Key: must unlock Bikanel's Central Expanse with a chocobo
 - Machina Reactor: must open Calm Lands secret dungeon with chocobos

So, again, don't do that.

Also note that you must at least visit Mushroom Rock in Chapter 2 (even if
Clasko isn't here) in order to obtain Crimson Sphere 7, which is required to
obtain Supreme Light GG and Magical Dances, Vol 1 from the Den of Woe in
Chapter 5.

----------------------------------------------
| Moonflow: Tobli's Chest, Part 2     [2TC2] |
----------------------------------------------

This is the second branch in the series of choices related to the contents of
Tobli's chest in Guadosalam in Chapter 5, which also impacts your ability to
get 100%, Mascot, and a few other things.

There are basically four options here: (1) you did the Chapter 1 Moonflow
mission, and you do this one perfectly, (2) you skipped the Chapter 1 Moonflow
mission, but you do this one perfectly, (3) you did the Chapter 1 Moonflow
mission, but you skip this one, or (4) you skipped the Chapter 1 Moonflow
mission, and you skip this one too. Doing this mission perfectly means selling
all ten tickets, and at least breaking even.

There are actually many more possibilities than that, since you can choose to
do this mission imperfectly, either by selling fewer than ten tickets, or by
failing to at least break even, or both. Doing so has no benefits, and will
only reduce your reward.

Since there's no benefit to completing this mission imperfectly as opposed to
perfectly, and accounting for all the possibilities would make this much too
complicated, the below table will assume that you're completing the mission
perfectly.

Also, whether you completed the Chapter 1 Moonflow mission by talking to Tobli
or the Hypello first also makes a difference here, but a small one. If you
talked to Tobli first, the base price for each ticket will be 500. If you
talked to the Hypello first, or skipped the Chapter 1 Moonflow mission, the
base price will be 1000. This means that talking to Tobli first in Chapter 1
makes it easier to make a profit here (and you'll make more profit).

100%: You must complete this mission perfectly (along with the Chapter 1
Moonflow mission).

Mascot: You must complete this mission and sell all ten tickets (and must also
have completed the Chapter 1 Moonflow mission), but you don't need to break
even.

Key to Success: You can do anything here, though if you skip this mission and
you also skipped the Chapter 1 Moonflow mission, you must complete the Chapter
2 Macalania mission. If you skipped the Moonflow in Chapter 1, and also intend
to skip the Macalania mission in Chapter 2, then you must complete this mission
and sell all ten tickets to get Key to Success.

Gun Mage DSP: If you skipped the Chapter 1 Moonflow mission and so don't have
Gun Mage, you must complete this mission and sell at least six tickets.

Seething Cauldron GG: You must complete this mission and either (1) sell all
ten tickets, or (2) sell at least six tickets and at least break even.

The below summary table assumes you're completing this mission perfectly, for
simplicity's sake:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
|                      | 1&2 (*1) | 2not1 (*2) | 1not2 (*3) | Neither (*4) |
|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| 100%                 | YES (*5) | no         | no         | no           |
| Mascot               | YES (*5) | no         | no         | no           |
| Key to Success       | YES (*5) | YES        | YES        | YES (*6)     |
| Seething Cauldron GG | YES      | YES        | no         | no           |
| Gun Mage DSP         | YES (*7) | YES        | YES (*7)   | no           |
|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) Complete Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 Moonflow missions                  |
| (*2) Skipped Chapter 1 Moonflow mission but complete this mission |
| (*3) Completed Chapter 1 Moonflow mission but skip this one |
| (*4) Skip Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 Moonflow missions                      |
| (*5) 100%/Mascot and Key to Success will later become mutually exclusive |
| (*6) Must complete Chapter 2 Macalania mission                           |
| (*7) You already have it                                                 |
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------
| Macalania: Tobli's Chest, Part 3     [2TC3] |
-----------------------------------------------

This is the third branch in the series of choices related to the contents of
Tobli's chest in Guadosalam in Chapter 5, which also impacts your ability to
get 100%, Mascot, and a few other things.

There are basically three options here: (1) complete the mission by finding all
five musicians, including the three small ones, (2) complete the mission by
finding only the two (large) musicians who must be found to complete the
mission, but not the three small ones, or (3) skip the mission.

100%/Mascot: You must complete this mission, though it is not necessary to find
the three small musicians.

Key to Success: You can do anything here, though if you skip this mission and
you also skipped the Chapter 1 Moonflow mission, you must complete the Chapter
2 Moonflow mission and sell all ten tickets to obtain Key to Success. If you
skipped the Moonflow in Chapter 1 and also skipped the Moonflow in Chapter 2
(or completed those missions less than satisfactorily for the purposes of
Tobli's chest), then you must complete this mission (though you need not find
the three small musicians) to obtain Key to Success.

Minerva's Plate: You must complete this mission and talk to the Hypello
afterward (in addition to completing the other prerequisite of Minerva's Plate,
completing the Chapter 1 Moonflow mission without having talked to Tobli
first).

Bitter Farewell GG: You must complete this mission and talk to the Hypello
afterward.

Howling Wind GG: You must complete this mission by finding all five musicians,
including the three small ones, then talk to the three small musicians in
Macalania in Chapter 3.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
|                    | Find all 5 | Find large ones only | Skip     |
|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
| 100%               | YES        | YES                  | no       |
| Mascot             | YES        | YES                  | no       |
| Key to Success     | YES        | YES                  | YES (*1) |
| Minerva's Plate    | YES        | YES                  | no       |
| Bitter Farewell GG | YES        | YES                  | no       |
| Howling Wind GG    | YES        | no                   | no       |
|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) Must have completed either Chapter 1 or Chapter 2 Moonflow |
|         mission perfectly                                         |
---------------------------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------
| Macalania: O'aka, Part 2     [2OA2] |
---------------------------------------

This is the second branch in the series of choices related to O'aka.

If you completed the O'aka mission in Macalania in Chapter 1, regardless of
whether you took O'aka on board the Celsius or handed him over to the Al Bhed,
then there is no O'aka-related mission to complete here in Chapter 2. If you
took him on board in Chapter 1, then the shop here is closed in Chapter 2. If
you handed him over to the Al Bhed in Chapter 1, then the shop here is open
under Al Bhed management in Chapter 2 (with a relatively poor inventory).

However, if you skipped the O'aka mission in Chapter 1, then this is your
second (and last) opportunity to complete it. Your options for this mission are
the same as in Chapter 1: (1) complete the mission and invite O'aka on board
the Celsius, (2) complete the mission and hand O'aka over to the Al Bhed, or
(3) skip the mission again.

If you skipped this mission in Chapter 1, then 100% completion is not possible
regardless of what you do here. The other major benefit, O'aka and Wantz
opening up shop in Macalania in Chapter 5 (with an excellent inventory), is
possible only if you complete this mission, whether in Chapter 1 or now in
Chapter 2.

This is also your last chance to obtain the Ice Queen GG by completing this
mission.

---------------------------------------------------------
|                  | Invite on board | Hand over | Skip |
|-------------------------------------------------------|
| Ch5 O'aka's shop | YES (*1)        | YES (*2)  | no   |
| Ice Queen GG     | YES             | YES       | no   |
|-------------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) Must pay off his debt before visiting Macalania |
|         in Chapter 3                                  |
| (*2) Must rescue him from Bikanel in Chapter 2 |
---------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------
| Bikanel: O'aka, Part 3     [2OA3] |
-------------------------------------

This is the third branch in the series of choices related to O'aka.

If you invited O'aka on board the Celsius in Macalania, either in Chapter 1 or
Chapter 2, or if you skipped that mission in both Chapters, O'aka will not be
here now. However, if you handed him over to the Al Bhed (either in Chapter 1
or in Chapter 2), then he'll be working in Bikanel now and you can find him in
the Southern Expanse.

You have two options here: (1) let him come on board the airship, or (2) don't
let him on board (or just skip him here). If you take him on board, you'll be
able to take advantage of his fabulously low prices during the rest of Chapter
2. He'll relocate to Macalania in Chapter 3, and his shop will be open there in
Chapter 5 with an excellent inventory. If you leave him where he is, the
Macalania shop will be under Al Bhed management in Chapter 5, with a much
poorer inventory.

Note that if O'aka is in Bikanel, then 100% completion is impossible.

----------------------------------------------------------------
|                    | Invite on board | Don't invite on board |
|--------------------------------------------------------------|
| Ch5 O'aka's shop   | YES             | no                    |
| Low prices on ship | YES | no |
----------------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------
| Celsius: O'aka, Part 4     [2OA4] |
-------------------------------------

This is the fourth branch in the series of choices related to O'aka.

If you skipped the O'aka mission in Macalania in both Chapter 1 and Chapter 2,
or if you handed him over to the Al Bhed and did not take him on board from
Bikanel, then he will not be on the airship, there's nothing to do here, and
the Macalania shop will be open under Al Bhed management, with a poor
selection, during Chapter 5.

If you handed O'aka over to the Al Bhed in Macalania, then took him on board
the airship from Bikanel, then he'll be here now, and you won't need to do
anything; his debt will already be paid off. You'll be able to take advantage
of his fabulously low prices on common consumables for the remainder of Chapter
2, and he'll relocate to Macalania in Chapter 3. The Macalania shop will be
open under O'aka's management during Chapter 5, with an excellent selection.

If you took O'aka on board from Macalania in Chapter 1 or Chapter 2, then he'll
be on the airship now and you'll have an additional choice to make: whether,
and when, to pay off his debt. There are three options: (1) pay off his debt
before the end of Chapter 2, (2) pay off his debt in Chapter 3 before visiting
Macalania, or (3) either pay off his debt at some point after you visit
Macalania in Chapter 3, or don't pay off his debt at all.

Note that though I'm placing this entry under Chapter 2, you can pay off his
debt in Chapter 1 if you take him on board then. Also note that 100% is only
possible if you took O'aka on board from Macalania in Chapter 1.

If you want 100%, or for him to open his shop in Macalania in Chapter 5, you
must pay off his debt before visiting Macalania in Chapter 3.

If you want to be able to purchase items from him on the airship at very low
prices, you must pay off his debt before the end of Chapter 2.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------------
| Gagazet: Kimahri and Trainer DSP, Part 2 [2KT2] |
-------------------------------------------------------

Like in Chapter 1, you'll have a choice of different responses to give to
Kimahri in dialogue, which influences whether or not you obtain the Trainer DSP
in Chapter 3.

The best response here, like in Chapter 1, is "You have to figure this out on
your own." If you chose the best response in Chapter 1, you'll be able to
obtain the Trainer DSP regardless of your choice here. If you chose one of the
other responses in Chapter 1 (or skipped the conversation), you must choose the
best response here in order to obtain the Trainer DSP.

-----------------------------------------------
| Gagazet: Ronso Responses, Part 2     [2RN2] |
-----------------------------------------------

Here you'll once again have a choice of responses in dialogue with seven of the
Ronso. Your responses here combine with the responses you gave them in Chapter
1 to determine how hard the Garik battle in Chapter 3 is:

"Good" responses: Can have "easy version" battle with Garik in Chapter 3 if you
   also gave "good" responses in Chapter 1.
Other responses: Will have "hard version" battle with Garik in Chapter 3.

The "good" responses in this chapter are:

 - He does seem very tired.
 - And what of the Guado?
 - Maybe the Guado really are to blame.
 - What if the Guado retaliate?
 - Please, try to think about it some more.
 - Then...there won't be anyone left to fight.
 - They should take better care of the mountain.

--------------------------------------------
| Gagazet: Hot Springs Entrance     [2HOT] |
--------------------------------------------

During the mission here, you'll have a choice of two different ways to enter
the Hot Springs area: the short way (following the goon), or the long way
(going further up). This choice affects only 100% completion.

Long way: 100% is possible.
Short way: 100% is not possible.

--------------------------------------------
| Guadosalam: Massaging Leblanc     [2MSG] |
--------------------------------------------

One of the requirements of this mission is completing a minigame where you must
give a back massage to Leblanc. You can choose to either: (1) successfully
complete this minigame on the first attempt, or (2) fail on the first attempt
and successfully complete it on a subsequent attempt.

This choice affects only which accessory you'll receive as a reward later in
the dungeon. To assist your decision, here is a comparison between the two
accessories:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
|               | MP   | MAG | DEF | MDF | AGL | LCK | auto-ability      |
|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Gold Hairpin  |      | +20 |     |     |     |     | Half MP Cost (*1) |
| Heady Perfume | +20% | +5  | +10 | +10 | +2  | +10 | HP/MP Stroll (*2) |
|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) MP cost during battle is halved |
| (*2) HP and MP are recovered by walking |
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heady Perfume is a unique item that is obtainable only here, while Gold Hairpin
is obtainable in several other ways.

Succeed on first attempt: Gold Hairpin.
Fail on first attempt and succeed on subsequent attempt: Heady Perfume.

===============================================================================

---------------------------------------
| Mi'ihen: Machina Mission     [3MMM] |
---------------------------------------

You have four options with regard to this mission: (1) complete the mission by
destroying at least seven machina, (2) complete the mission by destroying fewer
than seven machina, (3) visit Mi'ihen and start the mission, and then leave
without completing it, or (4) skip Mi'ihen entirely.

100%: You must complete the mission and destroy seven or more machina.

Rin's Mi'ihen Mystery and Mascot: If you do not even visit Mi'ihen in Chapter
3, you will be unable to solve Rin's Mi'ihen Mystery, therefore unable to get
Mi'ihen EpCom, therefore unable to get Mascot. To solve the Mystery and receive
Mascot, you must visit Mi'ihen and start the mission, but you do not need to
complete it.

Also, if you want to blame Rikku, you should do this mission and destroy the
machina at the north end of the "Newroad, North" zone. It's possible to blame
Rikku without doing this, but it's more difficult.

Undying Storm GG: You must complete the mission and destroy at least seven
machina.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
|                  | Destroy 7+ | Destroy <7 | Start only (*1) | Skip (*2) |

| (*2) Skip Mi'ihen entirely                                               |
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------
| Thunder Plains: Lian and Ayde [3LAA] |
--------------------------------------------

You'll find Lian and Ayde here, but only if you talked to them at the Calm
Lands in Chapter 2. There are four options here: (1) send them to Djose, (2)
send them to Moonflow, (3) send them to Kilika, or (4) don't talk to them.

Where you send them doesn't matter, but if you want 100%, Mascot, or the
Conflagration, Sacred Beast, and Tempered Will GGs, you must talk to them and
send them somewhere.

--------------------------------------------------------------
|                  | Send them anywhere | Don't talk to them |
|------------------------------------------------------------|
| 100%             | YES                | no                 |
| Mascot           | YES                | no                 |
| Conflagration GG | YES                | no                 |
| Sacred Beast GG  | YES                | no                 |
| Tempered Will GG | YES                | no                 |
--------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------
| Bevelle: Blood of the Beast [3BOB] |
------------------------------------------

If you gave the Awesome Sphere to New Yevon, you can talk to Pacce in Bevelle
before doing the Besaid and Kilika missions, and you'll have a choice of
responses during dialogue.

Go for it: Blood of the Beast GG.
Better not: No Blood of the Beast GG.

---------------------------------------------
| Gagazet: Tobli's Chest, Part 4     [3TC4] |
---------------------------------------------

This is the fourth branch in the series of choices related to the contents of
Tobli's chest in Guadosalam in Chapter 5, which also impacts your ability to
get 100%, Mascot, and a few other things.

You have two options here: (1) fight Garik, or (2) don't fight Garik.

If you want 100%, Mascot, or any of the other items which require this mission,
you must fight Garik.

If you want Key to Success, you must not fight Garik. You can get the Trainer
DSP from Kimahri, and you can start the mission, as long as you don't actually
fight Garik.

The requirement to skip this mission is why getting Key to Success is such a
sacrifice. Skipping this mission means you won't get EpCom for Guadosalam,
Macalania and Gagazet, and these EpComs are required for a number of items. By
skipping this mission you'll miss out on the following:

 - 100%: requires the completion percentage for this mission, and Mascot
 - Mascot: requires EpCom for every area
 - Conflagration GG: requires Gagazet EpCom
 - Ray of Hope GG: requires Macalania EpCom
 - Sacred Beast GG: requires Gagazet EpCom
 - Tempered Will GG: requires Guadosalam EpCom
 - Wishbringer GG: requires completing this mission
 - Baralai's Sphere: requires Guadosalam Epcom

------------------------------------------------------
|                  | Fight Garik | Don't fight Garik |
|----------------------------------------------------|
| 100%             | YES         | no                |
| Mascot           | YES         | no                |
| Key to Success   | no          | YES (*1)          |
| Conflagration GG | YES         | no                |
| Ray of Hope GG | YES | no |
| Sacred Beast GG  | YES         | no                |
| Tempered Will GG | YES         | no                |
| Wishbringer GG   | YES         | no                |
| Baralai's Sphere | YES         | no                |
|----------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) Must have completed at least one of Chapter 1 |
| Moonflow, Chapter 2 Moonflow, and Chapter |
|         2 Macalania missions                       |
------------------------------------------------------

===============================================================================
| 2.4 Chapter 4                                                        [CCH4] |
===============================================================================

---------------------------------------------
| Celsius: Rin's Mi'ihen Mystery     [4MYS] |
---------------------------------------------

When you connect to the Mi'ihen commsphere, you'll have the opportunity to help
Rin investigate the recent disturbances in Mi'ihen. You can do this either
before or after the Moonflow mission.

There are five options here: (1) blame Chocobo Eater, (2) blame Prophet, (3)
blame Rikku, (4) blame Calli, or (5) blame Rin.

There's actually a sixth possibility: failure, meaning that Rin is unable to
determine the culprit. This will happen if you attempt to blame a potential
culprit you haven't met the prerequisites for. If you fail to help Rin find a
culprit, you'll miss out on all possible rewards, including 100%, Mascot, and
several other things. So don't do that.

All potential culprits except Chocobo Eater have prerequisites that must be met
before they can be blamed. See Split Infinity's Mi'ihen Mystery guide for a
list of these prerequisites. You can meet the prerequisites for four out of the
five potential culprits in any playthrough; the prerequisites for Rikku and
Calli are mutually exclusive (you made your choice between them when you chose
whether or not to reach the Chocobo Eater within the time limit in the Chapter
2 Mi'ihen mission).

So, make sure that you've met the prerequisites for the culprit you want to
blame, then follow the steps outlined in Split's guide to blame that culprit.
If you haven't been paying attention to prerequisites and aren't sure who's on
your list of possibilities, then blame Chocobo Eater, who has no prerequisites.

100%: Blame Rikku or Chocobo Eater.

Mascot: Blame Rikku, Calli, or Chocobo Eater.

Ragnarok: Blame Rikku.

Gippal's Sphere: Blame Rin.

Victor Primoris: Blame anyone but Prophet. Victor Primoris can only be obtained
while riding a chocobo, and all culprits but Prophet will result in you being
able to ride chocobos at Mi'ihen. (Blaming Rin will allow you to ride chocobos
for free; if you blame Rikku, Calli, or Chocobo Eater, there's a fee to ride
them.)

Selene Guard GG: If you're going for Calli, you've already missed out on this
GG; it's awarded for reaching the Chocobo Eater in time during the Chapter 2
Mi'ihen mission.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
|                 | Chocobo Eater | Prophet | Rikku | Calli | Rin |
|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
| 100%            | YES           | no      | YES   | no    | no  |
| Mascot          | YES           | no      | YES   | YES   | no  |
| Ragnarok        | no            | no      | YES   | no    | no  |
| Gippal's Sphere | no            | no      | no    | no    | YES |
| Victor Primoris | YES           | no      | YES   | YES   | YES |
| Selene Guard GG | YES           | YES     | YES   | no    | YES |
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Objectively, Rikku is clearly the best choice here. Blaming her is the only way
to get the Ragnarok accessory (one of the few ways of obtaining the Spellspring
auto-ability), and the only thing you miss out on is Gippal's Sphere.

          ===========================================================
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                           3. Multi-Event Choices                        [MULT]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
          ===========================================================

This section presents a more unified analysis of those choices that are spread
over multiple events in the storyline, with each choice addressed as a whole,
unlike the Chronological Choices List section where each event is examined
seperately in chronological order.

----------------------------
| Tobli's Chest     [CHST] |
----------------------------

You'll notice an empty chest in Tobli's office in Guadosalam. In Chapter 5 this
chest will finally contain a prize, and its contents depend on your choices
earlier in the game.

There are four possible outcomes for this chest: (1) Kaiser Knuckles, (2)
Crystal Ball, (3) Key to Success, or (4) nothing. The requirements for these
outcomes are as follows:

Kaiser Knuckles: Complete 3 Tobli missions satisfactorily, fight Garik in
   Chapter 3.
Crystal Ball: Complete 0-2 Tobli missions satisfactorily, fight Garik in
   Chapter 3.
Key to Success: Complete 1-3 Tobli missions satisfactorily, do not fight Garik
   in Chapter 3.
Nothing: Complete 0 Tobli missions satisfactorily, do not fight Garik in
   Chapter 3.

The "Tobli missions" are: Chapter 1 Moonflow mission (protect the bags from the
bandits), Chapter 2 Moonflow mission (sell Tobli's concert tickets), and
Chapter 2 Macalania mission (find the musicians).

For the purposes of determining the contents of this chest, the requirements to
complete the Tobli missions "satisfactorily" are:

Chapter 1 Moonflow: Save all five bags.
Chapter 2 Moonflow: Sell all ten tickets (it's not necessary to break even).
Chapter 2 Macalania: Find at least the large musicians (it's not necessary to
   find the three small musicians).

Here is a comparison between these three accessories:

------------------------------------------------------------------------
|                 | HP    | MP    | STR | MAG | LCK  | auto-ability    |
|----------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Kaiser Knuckles |       |       | +50 |     |      |                 |
| Crystal Ball    |       |       |     | +50 |      |                 |
| Key to Success  | +100% | +100% |     |     | +100 | Double All (*1) |
|----------------------------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) Doubles amount of EXP, AP, gil and items after battle, and |
| doubles effectiveness of recovery and attack items |
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Clearly, Key to Success is by far the best option here. Key to Success is also
a unique item, obtainable only here, while Kaiser Knuckles and Crystal Ball can
both be obtained elsewhere.

However, getting Key to Success comes at a steep price: you must skip the Garik
fight in Chapter 3, which means forfeiting the Guadosalam, Macalania, and
Gagazet EpComs. This means you'll miss out on the following:

 - 100%: requires Mascot
 - Mascot: requires EpCom for every area
 - Conflagration GG: requires Gagazet EpCom
 - Ray of Hope GG: requires Macalania EpCom
 - Sacred Beast GG: requires Gagazet EpCom
 - Tempered Will GG: requires Guadosalam EpCom
 - Wishbringer GG: requires completing Chapter 3 Gagazet mission
 - Baralai's Sphere: requires Guadosalam Epcom

If you want 100% or Mascot, this chest must contain Kaiser Knuckles. This means
forfeiting the Enterprise accessory, and if you're going for 100% you'll also
forfeit Minerva's Plate (see below for an explanation about these two
accessories).

If you get Crystal Ball here, you've forfeited 100%, Mascot, and Moonflow
EpCom.

There are two additional accessories (mutually exclusive with each other) that
you can obtain depending on your choices regarding these missions: Enterprise
and Minerva's Plate.

To get Enterprise, you must skip the Chapter 1 Moonflow mission, then push
Tobli into the elevator on the Celsius at the beginning of Chapter 2.
Enterprise conflicts with getting Kaiser Knuckles from Tobli's chest, and it's
incompatible with 100% and Mascot.

To get Minerva's Plate, you must talk to the Hypello first before the Chapter 1
Moonflow mission, and complete it perfectly. Then you must complete the Chapter
2 Macalania mission, and talk to the Hypello afterward. Minerva's Plate is
compatible with all three of the possibilities for Tobli's chest, but it
conflicts with 100% (because 100% requires that you talk to Tobli first for the
Chapter 1 Moonflow mission).

Here is a comparison of these two accessories:

-----------------------------------------------------------------
|                 | MP    | STR | MAG  | auto-ability           |
|---------------------------------------------------------------|
| Minerva's Plate | +100% | -80 | +100 | Nitro Black Magic (*1) |
| Enterprise      |       |     |      | Break HP Limit (*2)    |
|---------------------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) Can use black magic you've learned, black magic charge |
| time reduced by 40%, no EXP or AP after battle |
| (*2) HP can exceed 9999                                       |
-----------------------------------------------------------------

There are too many possible courses of action to create a table listing them
all (even assuming that each of the four relevant missions is a simple binary
choice - either complete it or skip it - there are 16 possible combinations).
The below summary table will simply list the results of obtaining each of the
four possibilities for Tobli's chest. See above for the requirements for these
outcomes.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
|                  | Kaiser Knuckles | Crystal Ball | Key to Success | Nothing|
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| 100%             | YES             | no           | no             | no     |
| Mascot           | YES             | no           | no             | no     |
| Enterprise       | no              | YES (*1)     | YES (*1)       | YES    |
| Minerva's Plate  | YES (*2)        | YES (*1)     | YES (*1)       | no     |
| Conflagration GG | YES             | YES          | no             | no     |
| Ray of Hope GG   | YES             | YES          | no             | no     |
| Sacred Beast GG  | YES             | YES          | no             | no     |
| Tempered Will GG | YES             | YES          | no             | no     |
| Wishbringer GG   | YES             | YES          | no             | no     |
| Baralai's Sphere | YES             | YES          | no             | no     |
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) These two items are mutually exclusive with each other |
| (*2) Conflicts with 100%                                                    |
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In addition, there are a few items not included on the above table that you
will obtain or not depending on your choices regarding these missions.

Gun Mage DSP: Must complete either Chapter 1 Moonflow or Chapter 2 Moonflow
mission, but do not need to complete it perfectly.

Helios Guard GG: Must complete Chapter 1 Moonflow mission perfectly.

Seething Cauldron GG: Must complete Chapter 2 Moonflow mission, but do not need
to complete it perfectly.

Bitter Farewell GG: Must complete Chapter 2 Macalania mission (do not need to
find the three small musicians) and talk to the Hypello afterward.

Howling Wind GG: Must complete Chapter 2 Macalania mission by finding all five
musicians, including the three small ones, then talk to the small musicians in
Macalania in Chapter 3.

------------------------------------
| Rin's Mi'ihen Mystery     [MYST] |
------------------------------------

In Chapter 4, by connecting to the Mi'ihen commsphere, you'll have the
opportunity to help Rin investigate the cause of the recent disturbances at
Mi'ihen. During the investigation, depending on your actions in the
commspheres, you'll be able to pin the blame on one of five possible culprits:
Chocobo Eater, Prophet, Rikku, Calli, or Rin himself.

Then in Chapter 5, when you visit Mi'ihen, Rin will unmask the culprit and
you'll receive your rewards.

There's really only one absolute requirement to participate in the Mystery: you
must at least visit Mi'ihen in Chapter 3 and start the mission there. If you
don't, Shinra won't install the commsphere at Mi'ihen, which means no Rin's
Mi'ihen Mystery, no Mi'ihen EpCom, and no Mascot.

Four of the potential culprits, all but Chocobo Eater, have prerequisites that
must be fulfilled in order to blame them in the Mystery. This guide will not
list all the prerequisites for each culprit. Read Split Infinity's Mi'ihen
Mystery guide for that, and make sure you meet the prerequisites for the
culprit you wish to blame.

Chocobo Eater has no prerequisites; he can always be blamed. Of the other four
potential culprits, it's always possible to meet the prerequisites for both
Prophet and Rin in every playthrough. However, the prerequisites for Rikku and
Calli are mutually exclusive; you must choose between them. This means that, in
Chapter 4, if you've met all the prerequisites you can, you'll have four
potential culprits who can be blamed: Chocobo Eater, Prophet, Rin, and either
Rikku or Calli.

Though this guide won't cover all the prerequisites, there are a few points
where you must make a choice that has implications for the Mystery. These
points are:

Chapter 2 Mi'ihen, Part 1: During this mission, there's a segment where you're
supposed to guess which direction the chocobo is going to run in order to stop
it. It's possible to catch the chocobo early here if you don't mess up enough,
but this is bad because it makes it much more difficult to blame Rikku. So if
you want to blame her (or want 100%), make sure to mess up a few times in this
part of the mission.

Chapter 2 Mi'ihen, Part 2: Later in the mission you'll be given a limited
amount of time to reach Chocobo Eater. This is where you must make a choice
between Rikku and Calli. If you reach Chocobo Eater in time, it will be
possible to blame Rikku, but not Calli (assuming Rikku's prerequisites are
met). If you don't reach Chocobo Eater in time, it will be possible to blame
Calli, but not Rikku (assuming Calli's prerequisites are met). You'll also miss
out on the Selene Guard GG if you fail to reach Chocobo Eater in time.

Chapter 2 Mi'ihen, Part 3: After the mission, you'll have the option to invite
Calli (and Clasko, if he's here) on board the Celsius. If you did not reach
Chocobo Eater within the time limit, and you want to blame Calli, you must not
invite her on board. If you do, you won't be able to blame Calli.

Chapter 3 Mi'ihen, Part 1: As stated above, you must at least visit Mi'ihen in
this chapter and start the mission. If you don't, you won't be able to
participate in the Mystery at all.

Chapter 3 Mi'ihen, Part 2: If you want to blame Rikku, you should do this
mission and destroy the machina at the north end of the "Newroad, North" zone.
It's possible to blame Rikku without doing this, but it's more difficult.

Once you reach Chapter 4, just complete the steps outlined in Split's Mi'ihen
Mystery guide to blame your desired culprit, then claim your rewards in Chapter
5. Be aware that it's actually possible to fail the investigation if Rin is
unable to determine the culprit. This will happen if you attempt to blame a
potential culprit you haven't met the prerequisites for. If you fail to help
Rin find a culprit, you'll miss out on all possible rewards, including 100%,
Mascot, and several other things. So don't do that.

Possible rewards for the Mystery and their requirements:

---------------------------------------------------
| Clasko, Calli, and the Chocobo Ranch [RNCH] |
---------------------------------------------------

Depending on your actions regarding Clasko in Chapters 1 and 2, Clasko will
(after you complete the "Clean Sweep" mission for him) transform the old
Monster Arena in the Calm Lands into the Chocobo Ranch, allowing you to capture
chocobos, raise and dispatch them, and access a great deal of content that is
unavailable if this doesn't happen.

There are basically three possibilities: (1) unlock the Chocobo Ranch in
Chapter 2, (2) unlock the Chocobo Ranch in Chapter 3, and (3) don't unlock the
Chocobo Ranch at all.

The events which influence the outcome here are:

 - Chapter 1 Mushroom Rock
 - Chapter 2 Mushroom Rock
 - Chapter 2 Mi'ihen

Chapter 1 Mushroom Rock: After completing the mission here you'll have the
option to invite Clasko on board the airship. You can choose to invite him on
board or not.

Chapter 2 Mushroom Rock: If you did not invite him on board in Chapter 1,
Clasko will be here now, and you can choose to talk to him or not.

Chapter 2 Mi'ihen: If Clasko is on board the airship (because you invited him
on board in Chapter 1), or if you talked to him at Mushroom Rock in Chapter 2
before doing this mission, Clasko will show up and help out during the mission,
giving you more time to reach the Chocobo Eater. After the mission, assuming
Clasko showed up, you'll have the option of inviting Clasko and Calli on board
the airship or not. If Clasko didn't show up, you'll only be able to invite
Calli on board (or not).

Your choices in these three events influence the following outcomes:

 - 100%
 - Additional time to reach Chocobo Eater during the Chapter 2 Mi'ihen mission
 - Blame Calli in Rin's Mi'ihen Mystery
 - Unlock the Chocobo Ranch (in Chapter 2, Chapter 3, or not at all)

There are several possible courses of action across the three events:

Option 1: Invite Clasko on board in Chapter 1. Do the Mi'ihen mission in
Chapter 2, and invite Clasko and Calli on board afterward. Then drop Clasko off
at the Calm Lands later in Chapter 2.

Option 2: Invite Clasko on board in Chapter 1. Do the Mi'ihen mission in
Chapter 2, but do not invite Clasko and Calli on board afterward.

Option 3: Do not invite Clasko on board in Chapter 1. Talk to him at Mushroom
Rock in Chapter 2, then do the Mi'ihen mission and invite Clasko and Calli on
board afterward. Then drop Clasko off at the Calm Lands later in Chapter 2.

Option 4: Do not invite Clasko on board in Chapter 1. Talk to him at Mushroom
Rock in Chapter 2, then do the Mi'ihen mission but do not invite Clasko and
Calli on board afterward.

Option 5: Either (1) do not invite Clasko on board in Chapter 1, do the Mi'ihen
mission in Chapter 2 first, then talk to Clasko at Mushroom Rock, or (2) talk
to Clasko in Chapter 1 but do not invite him on board, and do not talk to him
in Chapter 2.

Option 6: Do not talk to Clasko at all in Chapter 1 or Chapter 2.

The consequences of each of these options are as follows:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
|                | Opt.1 | Opt.2   | Opt.3 | Opt.4   | Opt.5   | Opt.6   |
|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| 100%           | YES   | no      | no    | no      | no      | no      |
| More time (*1) | YES   | YES     | YES   | YES     | no      | no      |
| Blame Calli    | no    | YES(*2) | no    | YES(*2) | YES(*3) | YES(*3) |
| Chocobo Ranch  | Ch2   | Ch3     | Ch2   | Ch3     | Ch3     | no      |
|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| (*1) You'll be given more time to reach Chocobo Eater during the |
|         Chapter 2 Mi'ihen mission                                      |
| (*2) Must fail to reach Chocobo Eater within the time limit |
| (*3) Must fail to reach Chocobo Eater within the time limit, and not |
| invite Calli on board after the mission |
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

As you can see, there is a conflict between unlocking the Chocobo Ranch in
Chapter 2 (as opposed to Chapter 3) and blaming Calli in Rin's Mi'ihen Mystery.
You must either wait until Chapter 3 to unlock the Ranch, or blame someone else
in the Mystery.

So don't do that.

--------------------
| O'aka     [OAKA] |
--------------------

You can meet O'aka in Macalania in Chapter 1 or 2. O'aka is in debt to the Al
Bhed, and you can choose to either help him or not. If you help O'aka, he and
Wantz will eventually (in Chapter 5) open shop in Macalania, and they'll have
an outstanding selection of accessories for purchase. If you don't help O'aka,
the Al Bhed will be managing the Macalania shop in Chapter 5, and their
selection will be much more mediocre.

The events which influence this outcome are:

 - Chapter 1 Macalania
 - Chapter 2 Macalania
 - Chapter 2 Bikanel
 - Chapter 1-3 Celsius

Chapter 1 Macalania: After completing the mission here (following O'aka),
you'll be able to choose between taking him on board the airship and handing
him over to the Al Bhed. You'll receive the Ice Queen GG for completing this
mission either way. Alternatively, you can skip the mission.

Chapter 2 Macalania: If you skipped the O'aka mission in Chapter 1, you'll have
a second (and last) chance to complete it here, with the same choice at the
end, and the same reward (Ice Queen GG).

Chapter 2 Bikanel: If you turned O'aka over to the Al Bhed, in either Chapter 1
or Chapter 2, you can meet him here in the Southern Expanse, and you'll be able
to choose between taking him on board or leaving him here.

Chapter 1-3 Celsius: If you take O'aka on board the airship from Macalania (in
Chapter 1 or 2), you'll find him in the Cabin, and you can either pay off his
debt before you visit Macalania in Chapter 3, or not pay off his debt by then.

If you want to help O'aka, there are basically two ways to do so: (1) take him
on board the Celsius from Macalania in Chapter 1 or 2, then pay off his debt
before visiting Macalania in Chapter 3, or (2) turn him over to the Al Bhed in
Macalania in Chapter 1 or 2, then pick him up from Bikanel in Chapter 2.

On the other hand, if you want to not help O'aka, you can (1) skip the O'aka
mission in Macalania in both Chapters 1 and 2, (2) take him on board from
Macalania in Chapter 1 or 2, but fail to pay off his debt by the time you visit
Macalania in Chapter 3, or (3) hand him over to the Al Bhed, then not pick him
up from Bikanel in Chapter 2.

Your choices in these events influence the following outcomes:

 - 100%
 - O'aka's good shop in Macalania in Chapter 5
 - Ice Queen GG

There are a few possible courses of action here:

Option 1: Take O'aka on board from Macalania in Chapter 1, then pay off his
debt in time.

Option 2: Skip the O'aka mission in Chapter 1, then either (1) take him on
board from Macalania in Chapter 2, and pay off his debt in time, or (2) hand
him over to the Al Bhed in Macalania in Chapter 2, and take him on board from
Bikanel in Chapter 2.

Option 3: Either (1) take him on board from Macalania, but don't pay off his
debt in time, or (2) hand him over to the Al Bhed in Macalania, but fail to
pick him up from Bikanel.

Option 4: Skip the O'aka mission in Macalania in both Chapters 1 and 2.

The consequences of these courses of action are as follows:

----------------------------------------------------------------
|                  | Option 1 | Option 2 | Option 3 | Option 4 |
|--------------------------------------------------------------|
| 100%             | YES      | no       | no       | no       |
| Ch5 O'aka's shop | YES      | YES      | no       | no       |
| Ice Queen GG     | YES      | YES      | YES      | no       |
----------------------------------------------------------------

In addition, there are two other consequences not shown in the above table that
are determined by your actions regarding O'aka.

Al Bhed shop in Chapter 2: If you take O'aka on board from Macalania in Chapter
1, or if you skip the O'aka mission in Chapter 1, then the Macalania shop is
closed in Chapter 2. However, if you hand O'aka over to the Al Bhed in Chapter
1, then the Macalania shop will be open in Chapter 2 under Al Bhed management
(with a relatively poor selection). In this case you can still help O'aka open
his shop in Chapter 5 by picking him up from Bikanel.

Very low prices from O'aka on the airship: If you take O'aka on board the
airship from Macalania (either in Chapter 1 or 2), and proceed to pay off his
debt before the end of Chapter 2, or if you pick him up from Bikanel in Chapter
2, he will drastically lower his prices to very low levels. You'll be able to
take advantage of these prices until the end of Chapter 2. However, if you took
him on board from Macalania and don't pay off his debt until Chapter 3 (before
your first visit to Macalania in that chapter), then you won't be able to take
advantage of his super low prices, because he'll leave the airship as soon as
you pay off his debt.

--------------------------------------
| Kimahri and Trainer DSP [TRNR] |
--------------------------------------

When you speak with Kimahri on Gagazet in Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, you'll have
a choice of three possible responses in dialogue. These choices influence
whether or not you obtain the Trainer DSP from Kimahri in Chapter 3.

In both cases, the best response is "You have to figure this out on your own."
You must choose this response at least once (in Chapter 1 or 2) in order to
obtain Trainer DSP, though it doesn't matter in which chapter you choose this
response.

------------------------------
| Ronso Responses     [RNSO] |
------------------------------

In Chapters 1 and 2, you'll have a choice of responses in dialogue with seven
of the Ronso (not including Kimahri). These choices influence the battle with
Garik in Chapter 3.

If you give the "good" responses in Chapters 1 and 2, you'll fight the "easy
version" Garik battle in Chapter 3. If you give responses other than the "good"
responses in either Chapter 1 or 2, you'll fight the "hard version" of the
Garik battle in Chapter 3.

The "good" responses are:

Chapter 1:

 - We'll take care of Lian and Ayde.
 - I will never forget their sacrifice.
 - Leave it to the Gullwings!
 - I wouldn't forgive them either.
 - I can imagine how you must feel...
 - I'm sure you're right.
 - A change for the better, I hope.

Chapter 2:

 - He does seem very tired.
 - And what of the Guado?
 - Maybe the Guado really are to blame.
 - What if the Guado retaliate?
 - Please, try to think about it some more.
 - Then...there won't be anyone left to fight.
 - They should take better care of the mountain.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
          ===========================================================
There are a very large number of possible combinations of the choices presented
in this guide. This section builds on the Prize Conflict Lists section by
presenting a much more limited number of combinations that are more efficient,
assuming you want to get as much as you can in a relatively small number of
playthroughs.
This section will only take into account tangible prizes, like accessories,
garment grids, 100%, etc. It will not consider choices that do not lead to a
specific prize, such as blaming Prophet in Rin's Mi'ihen Mystery. You can
obviously adjust these suggested playthroughs to suit your needs.
Also, to be clear, these playthroughs will definitely not list all requirements
for obtaining 100%/Mascot, or blaming Rikku/Rin in the Mi'ihen Mystery (or even
for other prizes). They list only the essential choices covered in this guide.
Some requirements are listed in earlier sections of this guide. Also check out
the Credits and Resources section for a list of very helpful guides for those
requirements/prerequisites.
-------------------
| 100%     [100P] |
-------------------
If you want 100%, you're actually very limited in the choices you can make;
you're locked into a fixed path for the most part. Nonetheless, here is a
playthrough for 100%, getting everything else covered by this guide that you
can get:
Chapter 1:
   Mushroom Rock: Invite Clasko on board.
   Moonflow: Talk to Tobli first and complete the mission perfectly.
   Macalania: Invite O'aka on board.
   Celsius: Pay off O'aka's debt by the time you visit Macalania in Chapter 3.
Chapter 2:
   Celsius: Give the Awesome Sphere to the Youth League.
   Mi'ihen: Reach the Chocobo Eater in time, and invite Clasko and Calli on
      board.
   Moonflow: Complete the mission perfectly.
   Macalania: Complete the mission.
Chapter 3:
   Mi'ihen: Complete the mission and destroy 7+ machina.
   Gagazet: Fight Garik.
Chapter 4:
   Celsius: Blame Rikku.
Obtain: 100%, Mascot, Ragnarok, Nooj's Sphere, Baralai's Sphere, Conflagration
   GG, Helios Guard GG, Ray of Hope GG, Sacred Beast GG, Tempered Will GG,
   Wishbringer GG
Miss: Enterprise, Minerva's Plate, Key to Success, Gippal's Sphere, Blood of
   the Beast GG, Shining Mirror GG
---------------------------------
| Mascot + New Yevon     [MPNY] |
---------------------------------
This is a playthrough for getting Mascot, plus the New Yevon-exclusive items.
Since we don't need 100%, we can also get Minerva's Plate.
Chapter 1:
   Moonflow: Talk to the Hypello first and complete the mission perfectly.
Chapter 2:
   Celsius: Give the Awesome Sphere to New Yevon.
   Mi'ihen: Reach the Chocobo Eater in time.
   Moonflow: Complete the mission perfectly.
   Macalania: Complete the mission.
Chapter 3:
   Mi'ihen: At least visit and start the mission.
   Gagazet: Fight Garik.
Chapter 4:
   Celsius: Blame Rikku.
Obtain: Mascot, Minerva's Plate, Ragnarok, Baralai's Sphere, Blood of the Beast
   GG, Conflagration GG, Helios Guard GG, Ray of Hope GG, Sacred Beast GG,
   Shining Mirror GG, Tempered Will GG, Wishbringer GG
Miss: 100%, Enterprise, Key to Success, Nooj's Sphere, Gippal's Sphere
------------------------------------
| Mascot + Youth League     [MPYL] |
------------------------------------
This is a playthrough for getting Mascot, plus Nooj's Sphere. Since we don't
need 100%, we can also get Minerva's Plate.
Chapter 1:
   Moonflow: Talk to the Hypello first and complete the mission perfectly.
Chapter 2:
   Celsius: Give the Awesome Sphere to the Youth League.
   Mi'ihen: Reach the Chocobo Eater in time.
   Moonflow: Complete the mission perfectly.
   Macalania: Complete the mission.
Chapter 3:
   Mi'ihen: At least visit and start the mission.
   Gagazet: Fight Garik.
Chapter 4:
   Celsius: Blame Rikku.
Obtain: Mascot, Minerva's Plate, Ragnarok, Nooj's Sphere, Baralai's Sphere,
   Conflagration GG, Helios Guard GG, Ray of Hope GG, Sacred Beast GG, Tempered
   Will GG, Wishbringer GG
Miss: 100%, Enterprise, Key to Success, Gippal's Sphere, Blood of the Beast GG,
   Shining Mirror GG
------------------------------------------
| Key to Success + Enterprise     [KTSE] |
------------------------------------------
This is a playthrough for getting Key to Success, plus Enterprise. We can't
also get Minerva's Plate, since it conflicts with Enterprise. If you don't want
or need (another) Enterprise or Minerva's Plate, feel free to do the Moonflow
mission in Chapter 1 instead of Chapter 2 if you prefer.
I've chosen to do the Moonflow mission instead of the Macalania mission in
Chapter 2, since we can't get Minerva's Plate anyway, and we might as well get
another copy of Gun Mage DSP. However, if you prefer, you can do the Macalania
mission instead, as long as you do at least one of them.
I've chosen New Yevon here. If you want Nooj's Sphere, replace New Yevon with
the Youth League.
Since we don't need Mascot, I've also chosen Gippal's Sphere, since we didn't
get it in the earlier playthroughs. If you want (another) Ragnarok instead,
blame Rikku instead of Rin; just keep in mind the need to reach the Chocobo
Eater in time in Chapter 2.
Chapter 1:
   Moonflow: Skip the mission.
Chapter 2:
   Celsius: Give the Awesome Sphere to New Yevon.
   Moonflow: Complete the mission perfectly.
Chapter 3:
   Mi'ihen: At least visit and start the mission.
   Gagazet: Do not fight Garik.
Chapter 4:
   Celsius: Blame Rin.
Obtain: Key to Success, Enterprise, Gippal's Sphere, Blood of the Beast GG,
-----------------------------------------------
| Key to Success + Minerva's Plate     [KTSM] |
-----------------------------------------------
This is a playthrough for getting Key to Success, plus Minerva's Plate. We
can't also get Enterprise, since it conflicts with Minerva's Plate. If you
don't want or need (another) Minerva's Plate or Enterprise, feel free to skip
the Chapter 2 Macalania mission to save time, or to do one of the Chapter 2
Tobli missions instead of Chapter 1 Moonflow if you prefer.
I've chosen New Yevon here. If you want Nooj's Sphere, replace New Yevon with
the Youth League.
Since we don't need Mascot, I've also chosen Gippal's Sphere, since we didn't
get it in the earlier playthroughs. If you want (another) Ragnarok instead,
blame Rikku instead of Rin; just keep in mind the need to reach the Chocobo
Eater in time in Chapter 2.
Chapter 1:
   Moonflow: Talk to the Hypello first and complete the mission perfectly.
Chapter 2:
   Celsius: Give the Awesome Sphere to New Yevon.
   Macalania: Complete the mission and talk to the Hypello afterward.
Chapter 3:
   Mi'ihen: At least visit and start the mission.
   Gagazet: Do not fight Garik.
Chapter 4:
   Celsius: Blame Rin.
Obtain: Key to Success, Minerva's Plate, Gippal's Sphere, Blood of the Beast
   GG, Helios Guard GG, Shining Mirror GG
Miss: 100%, Mascot, Enterprise, Ragnarok, Nooj's Sphere, Baralai's Sphere,
   Conflagration GG, Ray of Hope GG, Sacred Beast GG, Tempered Will GG,
   Wishbringer GG
----------------------------------------------
| Efficient Playthrough Sequences     [SEQS] |
----------------------------------------------
If you want 100% completion in one playthrough, you'll need at least three
playthroughs total to get at least one of everything. An efficient sequence
would be:
#1: 100%
#2: Key to Success + Enterprise
#3: Key to Success + Minerva's Plate
In the third playthrough you could replace Gippal's Sphere with another
Ragnarok if you'd like, or New Yevon with the Youth League for Nooj's Sphere.
Alternatively you could do one of the Mascot playthroughs for your third
playthrough (sacrificing a second Key to Success for a second Mascot) if you
prefer, although all you really need in the third playthrough is Minerva's
Plate.
If you don't want 100% in one playthrough, though, you can get everything in
only two playthroughs. One efficient sequence is:
#1: Mascot + Youth League
#2: Key to Success + Enterprise
You can adjust these to your liking. For example you can replace Youth League
with New Yevon in the first playthrough if you prefer, as long as you do the
reverse in the second playthrough. You don't actually have a whole lot of
flexibility with only two playthroughs, though, since getting Mascot limits
your other choices.
