Once you get the cycle started (visit the Henne Mines to do this) the weather pattern will change "automatically" as the game clock ticks on.
Remember Giza Plains weather changes depend upon "Game Clock Time" and not "Real People Time"! For example, if you put your game on [Pause] and go off and do something else for 2 hours and 37 minutes, the Game Clock Time will not advance one second. If you leave the game running and go off and do something else for 2 hours and 37 minutes, the Game Clock will advance 2 hours and 37 minutes.
The weather pattern cycle is 2 game clock hours of Dry followed by one game clock hour of Rain followed by two game clock hours of Dry followed by one game clock hour of Rain and so on.
So the basic scheme is, if the Dry has just begun, you will have two hours of (game clock) playing time until the Rains begin. Once the Rains begin you will have one hour of (game clock) playing time until the Dry returns. And so on. The game (playing) clock will be advanced as you spend time playing the game while operating either inside or outside of Giza.
However, the basic scheme description must be modified for the case where you are physically in Giza when a "scheduled" change is due to occur. For example, suppose you entered Giza at the start of the Rain. If you play for two hours and do not leave Giza, the Rain will persist. A change was "scheduled" to occur one hour after your entry into Giza but your physical presence disallowed that change.
That is, the weather inside Giza will not change as long as you stay inside Giza even if the game's "Giza weather cycle clock" reaches a "scheduled" "change weather" time point.
If you leave Giza, whenever the game's "Giza weather cycle clock" signals a condition where the weather is supposed to change, the Giza weather will change at that time.
If you are interested in the "exact time" for changes, the best you can do is to keep a log on a piece of paper and record the game clock times when you enter and exit Giza as well as the weather condtiions in Giza at the exit and entry times. After several entries in the log the time pattern will begin to emerge.
Getting a prediction to know exactly when a change is due would be very difficult I think. AZorro007 (Expert) - 8 years ago

There's not much left to say, but if you feel lazy like me and don't really feel ambitious enough to keep track of how long the rains/dry will last, then there is one nice thing the game designers did for you. At Southgate in Rabanastre, there are a few fellers walkin' around. One of them is a Seeq. If you talk to him enough times, (after you visit Jahara, I think) then he will say a couple lines about the weather in Giza and then change his name to "Weather Eye". Now, when you talk to Weather Eye, he will tell you if it is the rains or the dry, and how long it will be before the weather switches. Brainiacgamer (Expert) - 8 years ago
