The new music for the Dual Shock edition of Resident Evil: Director's Cut was done by a man named Mamoru Samuragochi. Samuragochi gained attention in Japan by appearing to be a composer who was deaf, which earned him comparisons to Beethoven. However, it was discovered that Samuragochi was not actually deaf by answering questions during an interview before the sign language interpreter could finish translating for him as well as getting up to answer the door when his doorbell rang. It was also discovered that the music for Resident Evil: Director's Cut was not composed at all by Samuragochi, but by a ghostwriter instead.
