  • If Abe rescues all 99 Mudokons, a cutscene entitled "Guardian Angel" is unlocked. In it, Abe is trapped by a mysterious creature known as "The Shrink". The Shrink was originally going to appear in the form of a boss fight, until GT Interactive realized children would be interested in buying the game, and the character was cut. During production its name was simply "Angel", and its final name is based off the slang term "shrink", which refers to a psychologist or psychiatrist.

  • Originally the logo for Mudokon Pops depicted a Mudokon's severed head on a stick. This design was deemed too graphic in Japan and was replaced with a more lighthearted logo depicting a popsicle with a Mudokon face. This more lighthearted logo would be used in the sequels.
