What is the cotton robe trick?
I just want to know what the trick is for and how to do it. Johngault1966 - 8 years ago
AFAIK the Cotton Robe trick is that cotton robes sell for more than the cost of the base components plus the synth cost, effectively granting you a bunch of money as soon as you get to Lindblum in disc 1. lordpenguin - 8 years ago
The cost to buy a Wrist and a Steepled Hat and to Synth a Cotton Robe is less than you can sell a Cotton Robe for.
The process of buying tons of Wrists and Steepled Hats, Synthing Cotton Robes, and selling nets a 630 Gil profit per Cotton Robe sold. In later Discs, you need to be able to reach Dali (for Wrists) and Atla's Mogshop in Burmecia (for Steepled Hats).
--Initially equipped to Zidane - Disc 1
--Steal from Masked Man - Disc 1
--Found in the Prima Vista - Disc 1
--Initially equipped to Marcus - Disc 2
--Buy from Dali - Discs 1-4
--Steal from Black Waltz #2 - Disc 1
--Steal from Black Waltz #3 - Disc 1
--Buy from Lindblum (Repeatable) - Disc 1
--Found in Lindblums Industrial District - Disc 1
--Buy from Summit Station - Disc 2
--Steal from the broken Black Waltz #3 - Disc 2
--Buy from the Black Mage Village - Discs 2 & 3
--Buy from Atla's Mogshop in Burmecia - Discs 1-4
You can also use Steepled Hats + Feathered Hats to make Yellow Scarves for when you're in the Black Mage Village area and cannot reach Dali in Discs 2 & 3 (a relatively short time with lots of good stuff to buy), but they only give a 40 Gil profit per Yellow Scarf. Kraleck (Expert) - 8 years ago
