Question Details

  1. My friends and I are trying to set up a 6v2comp or 7v1comp game, but it won't let us. Is this a limitation of the map, or a restriction by Battle.net? Also, if we try to do a 3v3, it prevents certain combinations for teams? Has anyone else experienced this?

  1. At least 4 but I believe 6 is the max because it was 6 for Warcraft 3.

  2. A map can have up to 16 players. Blizzard just didn't make any maps that support that many. Also oddball teams like 6v2 and 7v1 can only be created by modifying the map to make it an option. When you go to create a game, you only get to choose from the team options the mapmaker put in.

  3. The highest number of players that any of the Blizzard created maps go to is 8, allowing only 4 people to a side, you can make a 4v1 game, but unless you make a custom map specifically designed to have 6v2 or 7v1 then this is not possible on the Blizzard maps that are available by default. The number of slots on both sides for teams must be equal even if you don't fill those slots, thus if you want 7 people on one side the other side must theoretically be able to have 7 people on it as well, even if you only actually fill one of those slots. Thusly, this would require a 14 man map, and since highest player count supported by any of the official Blizzard maps is 8 you would need to create a custom map to support this.

  4. unsure but there's 8 players per map, game types only allow for equal teams although (here's the unsure bit) i think u can do 8 player FFA and make alliances/alleigances if the correct options are activated
