Later on in the game you are given the chance to change your secondary profession by doing quests/missions.
Before you're allowed to change your secondary professions you have to become Ascended (Prophecies), Weh no Su (Factions) or complete the quest Hunted! (Nightfall).
To become Ascended in Prophecies you have to get to the Crystal Desert and complete the missions Dunes of Despair, Elona Reach and Thirsty River. Once you have completed them you're allowed to do the mission at Augury Rock were you're up against your Doppelganger. When you have defeated your Doppelganger, you have Ascended and then are allowed to accept the other profession quests in the Crystal Desert outposts which upon completion, allow you to change to that profession.
To become Weh no Su, you have to complete the mission in Nahpui Quarter, upon completion you become Weh no Su and end up in Senji's Corner where you can change your secondary profession by talking to Senji. To unlock them it costs 500g.
After completing the Consulate Docks mission in Nightfall you end up in Yohlon Haven. By accepting the quest Hunted! from Sunspear Modiki, you have to find the a base of operations for the Sunspears. All you have to do is simply complete the quest, gain access to the Command Post and talk Zuwarah who is a profession changer. Like Senji, it costs 500g to obtain the profession you want.
Once a secondary profession has be unlocked, that character can change freely between other secondary professions in the Skills and Attribute Panel in a town or outpost. (default key 'K')
Heroes and PvP characters can change to other secondary professions from any campaign that is directly linked to the players account.
