On the first level of the game, a disconnected area exists in the upper left corner of the map. Using a cheat to enter here reveals that the left passage contains a cave-in identical to the one at the beginning of the game, a door that cannot be opened, a ladder down that is non-functional, and an unknown wall type rendered as an open passage. The right-hand room contains an empty alcove, a button that doesn't do anything, and a regular door. This unused area was likely part of the game and later scrapped during development.
There is an unused item in the game called the "stone gem", which would've been used for the teleport locations found throughout the game. This item was later reused for the sequel Eye of the Beholder II: The Legend of Darkmoon, complete with it's original design and how it would've looked in the first game.
