In an interview, Sean Cooper admitted the difficulty spike in the American Revolt expansion was his fault: "It was such a shame it was so hard. The trouble was I was such a high cloud at that point and I became complacent. It was like, 'Here's a sequel... We'll just knock something out quickly.' It wasn't an attitude for producing a commercial product that someone was going to pay for. We didn't put any real attention into that game. It was a case of 'Let's add air strikes and a few more weapons and get on with it. We'll be done in a month, then we can move onto the new game.'"
