How long is this game?

  1. About how many hours do you say it takes to complete this game?

  1. If you are playing through and doing quests for the first time I would say it's 100-200 hours also. If you have beaten the game before and know a bit about how to play the game already and where things are then yea you could go through in 10 hours for main plot and 40 for side quests or less depending on how fast you are really trying to go.

  2. It's really a function of how well you understand AD&D. If it's your first time with the rules and you're learning, I could easily see 80+ for a thorough game (I've beat it a few times and I just can't get to 100) including the expac. A LOT of this extra time will come from reloading/retrying some of the more difficult battles--I still recall how much "fun" I had when I was first learning to slay dragons.

If you've a solid grasp of the rules and tactics, you could probably hit right around 40-50.

Admittedly, it's been a while since I've played the game so take this with a grain of salt.

If you're on the fence, please don't let the length discourage you. This game is worth every minute of it, and it's easily one of the greatest RPGs of all time. Take your time with it and let yourself be immersed and you'll never realize just how much time you waste with it :)

  3. It depends on how many side quests you do, but it's easily 100-200 hours.

  4. No, it's not 200 hours long. It's maybe ten hours for the main plot, and thirty - forty extra for the side quests. The expansion, Throne of Bhaal, adds another fifteen or so hours to game play, most of it inside the massive Watcher's Keep dungeon.
