Act 2 Companion Quests

Tristian: Kingdom of the Cleansed

1. Capital

Tristan will come to you approximately 1 month after the encounter with Remus in your throne room. There are rumors of a savage Goddess who’s become enraged by your appearance, which has led to the formation of a death cult. You can investigate (with options to make a CG or LN moral choice) or do nothing. Tristian says he’ll investigate and asks to meet him in the city.

You can find Tristian in the southern part of the city. I won’t include a map since it’s pretty easy to locate his icon in the in-game map. He’s speaking to a young cultist named Amalia, who says that it’s a great glory to sacrifice your life for the Goddess. If you select “What did you find out about the Kingdom, Tristian?”, you can try to convince her that she’s been brainwashed (CG moral choice). At the end of the conversation, you’ll receive an Invitation from the Kingdom of the Cleansed and gain 180 exp. This also reveals the Secret Sanctum location.

2. Secret Sanctum

Events & People
  1. Remus is preaching to cultists when you arrive. Ruthgert the First Faithful then takes over and asks you to be a sacrifice to the goddess. You have a number of conversation options that’ll end in combat (NG, CG, LN, CN, CE moral choice). Gain 225 exp. Oh, and it turns out that Amalia was Ruthgert’s daughter.
    • The combat is against Ruthgert (Cleric 5), Cultist Archer (Fighter 6), Cultist Fighter x2 (Fighter 6), Cultist Rogue x2 (Rogue 6), Cultist Fighter (Fighter 3), Cultist Archer (Fighter 2), Cultist Rogue x3 (Rogue 2), Cultist x5 (Warrior 1), Cultist x3 (Humanoid 2). There are a lot of enemies, but they really shouldn’t pose much of a challenge. AOE spells and crowd control are your friend. If you find your squishies are taking a lot of melee hits, try reloading and keeping your squishies further away while your tank triggers the encounter. Once you’ve killed about half of them, the remaining cultists will flee. Ruthgert will escape via spell. One cultist carries a Masterwork Longsword.
    • After the battle, you have the option to let the remaining cultists get away (CG moral choice) or to vow to kill them all (LE moral choice). Gain 270 exp.

3. Capital

Speak to Tristian. He’ll tell you that the cultists have fled the capital, fearing your wrath. The First Faithful Ruthgert has disappeared. This completes the quest. Gain 900 exp.
