Act 3 Companion Quests

Ekundayo: A Feast of Feasts

Around 250 days before the deadline for An Ancient Curse, Part 3, you’ll get the throne room event: Linzi has a suggestion. Linzi is concerned about Ekun and suggests you invite him to a secret party. You can agree (LG, CG, N, NE moral choice) or refuse (LE moral choice). As with all companion quests, you should agree.

Speak to Elina at the capital inn to arrange the event. Ntavi will recommend having the event at the Hunting Grounds. Travel to the Hunting Grounds and speak to Elina or Ntavi to continue.

  • Ekun. There are a number of moral choice opportunities if you talk to Ekun.
    • If you succeed on a diplomacy check, he’ll say he still thinks of his family and you’ll have a number of conversation choices including a N and NE moral choice. You gain 225 exp regardless of your choice.
    • If you selected the CN option at the start of the conversation, he won’t be willing to tell you about his family unless you make a Diplomacy DC 25 check (180 exp).
    • First, he’ll compliment you on your plan to lure him there. You can praise Linzi, say it was a team effort, or hog the credit (CN moral choice). This choice affects later choices in this conversation.
    • Next, if you select: “1. [Point at a glass] Drink with me?”, you can make a Diplomacy DC 22 check (67 exp) to convince him to have a drink.
    • If you select “How are you?”, you’ll get three Diplomacy options unless you hogged the credit (CN choice) at the start of the conversation: “1. What do you mean?” (Diplomacy DC 18 - 33 exp), “2. Tired of fighting? …” (Diplomacy DC 22 - 67 exp), “3. [Remain silent]” (Diplomacy DC 18 - 33 exp), or change the subject.
    • Don’t be an ass, and encourage Ekun away from vengeance for the “best” ending for Ekun. I recommend not asking “Tired of fighting?” (Diplomacy DC 22) and not telling him his grief and anger are justified or calling him a whiner (NE moral choice) if you’re looking for the “best” ending. Alternatively, be an ass, and encourage him to wallow in his grief if you want to turn him into Batman or the Stolen Lands equivalent thereof.
  • Ntavi. If you speak to Ntavi, you can ask her about her and Ekun.
    • There’s a hidden Lore: Religion check to discover there’s a symbol of Calistria on her wrist.
    • If you ask her about her favor, she’ll ask you to ask Elina for a bottle of wine. You can select “I’ll think about it” and “2. Still, why do you need a bottle of wine?” to get a Diplomacy DC 22 check (67 exp) and to get her to admit she wants to steal Ekun for a moment.
  • Elina. After you speak to Ntavi, you can ask Elina for a bottle of wine if you want to help Ntavi (LG, N, LN, CE moral choice). Elina will give you a cheap bottle, an ordinary bottle, or a rich bottle based on your choice.
    • You can return to Ntavi with the wine if you want to help her (180 exp) or drink it in front of her (NE moral choice). Giving her the wine will give her the chance to steal Ekun away.
    • Don’t help Ntavi for the “best” ending. Though I'm pretty sure this isn't mandatory, and that you can still get the “best” ending even if you help her out.
  • Linzi. Speak to Linzi and say “I think now’s the perfect time for one of your performances” to end the feast.
    • You can be a wingman/woman for Elina during the performance. I recommend helping her out if you’re aiming for the “best” ending for him.
    • At the end, you can help the Dog get a name. I recommend encouraging this if you’re aiming for the “best” ending.

You get 975 exp for completing the Feast, and you’ll automatically return to the throne room. The event will take about 5 hours of in-game time.

Basically, the “best” ending involves him honoring the memory of his family but becoming able to move on and find happiness with Elina and his loyal Dog. The other endings involve him either dying or disappearing to go be the Stolen Land's Batman, y'know, the vengeance that flaps in the night and all.
