Act 3 Companion Quests

Amiri: Pariah

1. Throne Room/Capital Tavern

Approximately 135 days before the deadline for An Ancient Curse, Part 3, you'll get the throne room event: Amiri wants to talk. She asks to speak to you at the Capital Tavern. Go there and speak to her.

  • N. Amiri.

Her old tribe has been spotted in your lands, and she asks you to go with her to visit them. This begins the Companion Quest: Pariah and reveals the location: Six Bears Camp.

2. Six Bears Camp

You may have unlocked Teleportation Circles by this point. If so, the fastest path to this location is likely via Teleportation to the North Narlmarches or Outlands Settlement. The above image shows where the camp is located within the North Narlmarches.

From the Capital: 1) W, 2) N, 3) NW, 4) W x3, 5) N, 6) NW x3, 7) N, 8) SE.

People & Events
  • A. Fleeing Barbarians. They yell that something has returned.
  • B1. Nightmare Skeleton Soldier (Fighter 4, Undead 2); B2. Nightmare Skeleton Soldier x2 (Fighter 4, Undead 2). There are multiple groups of these.
    • These should be very easy enemies at your level, especially since there are a lot of barbarians around to help and provide flanking assist. Honestly, the barbarians can take care of it without your help.
  • C. Nilak. She will appear after the combat with the skeletons at Encounter B ends. Linzi has a cute interaction with her if she’s in the party.
    • Chieftain Akaia interrupts your conversation with Nilak. He says that a ghost of a giant has been haunting their tribe and killing their people, demanding Amiri.
    • Amiri attacks him, and you can: 1) tell her to stop (NG moral choice), 2) stand and watch (N moral choice), or 3) tell her to finish him off (CE moral choice). She’ll kill him unless you tell her to stop.
    • I recommend stopping her from killing him if you want the “best” ending for her. If Amiri kills him, you can find a Shortsword +2, Light Shield +1, Studded Leather +1, and a Ring of Protection +1 on his body.
  • D. Fionn (Undead 14, Cleric 8), Nightmare Skeleton Soldier x2 (Fighter 4, Undead 2).
    • On Normal difficulty, Fionn has AC 27, 129 hp, Fort +10/Will +25/Reflex +9 saves, electricity resistance 10, and immunity to a lot of conditions including: mind affecting abilities, fear, compulsion, emotion, poison, disease, charm, daze, stun, death, sleep, critical hits, non-magical attacks, ability score damage, and sneak attack damage. He is fire vulnerable. He makes 4 attacks at a +21/+16/+11/+6 to hit for 3d6+31 damage +1d6 cold damage. He carries a Frost Greataxe +1, Banded Mail +2, and Swiftfoot Boots.
    • He’s actually pretty weak for a 22 hit die creature. He doesn’t have spell resistance or particularly high AC or hp, and he goes down pretty fast—especially if you use Kalikke’s fire blast, the Cleric spell Flame Strike (5) or the Wizard/Sorcerer spell Scorching Ray (2). His companion skeletons will die with him. Two of the Skeleton Soldiers arrive from the SW and SE corners of the map and may not even arrive before the battle ends.
    • If you wait long enough, Fionn will come charging toward the center of the map, followed by 5 more Nightmare Skeleton Soldiers (Fighter 4, Undead 2).
  • C2. Nilak. Talk to her again after killing Fionn. I recommend exploring and looting the camp first, since you won’t be able to after this conversation.
    • Nilak and Amiri will get into an argument, and Nilak will blame her for leaving her when their dream was for Amiri to become chief and for Nilak to be her advisor. Amiri will explain that the other clansmen tried to kill her during the war party. Nilak decides to take the clan to go to the Tiger Lords for help. Gain 600 exp.
  1. Scroll of Invisibility, Scroll of Curse of Deterioration, Potion of Reduce Person, 24 gold.
  2. Silver Ring, Scroll of Restoration (Lesser), 4 gold, Scroll of Cure Serious Wounds, Potion of Enlarge Person, Potion of Mage Armor, Scroll of Enlarge Person.
