Kudosh & Recommend Items

The game also features a reward currency (thankfully not a microtransation) called Kudosh which you'll obtain for accomplishing certain goals, or through research projects (from Mitton University onwards). For those of you who don't know, dosh is UK slang for money, so it's yet another dumb pun, probably like "cool cash" or something like that. Perhaps it could even be "Kudos" cash. There are some items worth your first investments, and others, that are, well...not. The following is first of a list of which items are first choice for me. For more boring information, you can consult the Kudosh Items listing. So go ahead and make sure you have these first:

Amenities

  • Energy Drink Machine - Allows staff members to get a boost of energy. Pretty effective when placed in the Staff Room
  • Luxury Snacks Machine - Requires less restocking
  • Big Bin - Reduces number of times the bin needs to be emptied
  • Hand Sanitiser - Helps boost hygiene - you can place them just about everywhere
  • Arcade Machine - Best form of entertainment, also turns a profit and creates no litter
  • Sweet Dispenser - Will boost mood and hunger, and when placed in rooms, allows doctors a bit of a snack break
  • Laxative Drink Machine (Pebberly Island DLC) - Will help patients in treatment areas with low health by giving them a 10% boost or so to their health, at the expense of making them have to use the bathroom
  • Amusing Snack Machine (Pebberly Island DLC) - Will knock out both entertainment and hunger needs all from a vending machine
  • Ice Sculpture (Pebberly Island DLC) - Helps cool down the hospital, useful for levels with a hot climate. While these cover a small radius, they also require no maintenance, which is a perfect exploit for levels like Topless Mountain (Pebberley Island DLC) and Camouflage Falls (Close Encounters DLC) with patient waves.
  • Palm Tree (Pebberly Island DLC) - While an expensive initial investment at $800 a pop, these plants beautify a decent sized around them and require no watering!
  • Brain Chair (unlocked from the first Superbug Project "Gyro Nut") - Gives staff a brain boost moodlet which helps them learn faster. You can place this chair in many rooms in place of a normal chair.

Room Objects

  • Yucca - Basically the same as the plant, but requires less watering
  • Eye Test Poster - Quick and cheap way to boost a room's rating
  • Rorschach Poster - Quick and cheap way to boost a room's rating
  • Food Pyramid Poster - Quick and cheap way to boost a room's rating
  • Gold Star Award - The spammiest item in the game - will allow you to boost most rooms to Prestige Level 5 by spamming them on the wall
  • Chair - Allows staff members to sit idly between patients, can be useful
  • Medicine Cabinet - Improves treatment/diagnosis score by 1%
  • Coffee Maker - Allows busy staff members to take a quick coffee break between patients (only when there isn't a queue - but still useful)
  • Diagnosis Bookcase (Psychiatry) - Improves psychiatry diagnosis score by 2%
  • Treatment Bookcase (Psychiatry) - Improves psychiatry treatment score by 2%
  • Research Monitors - Increases research speed by 1%
  • Operation Monitor - (Operating Theater) - Increases surgery treatment score by 2%
  • X-Ray Board (Operating Theater or X-Ray) - Strictly for the LOLs. The sock puppet gets me every time! It never gets old!

The other items are nice, but don't boost your game as much. There's really no shortage of Kudosh in the game,as your Research lab allows you to continually research projects that give you some. However, it doesn't hurt to shop smartly and get the best items first!
