Game Trivia

Carmageddon was memorably controversial when released, being the first game refused certification by the BBFC (British Board of Film and Video Classification). One cited reason was "because the pleasures on offer were those of killing for kicks". Erring on the side of caution, the game released with blood and gore censored, swapping human pedestrians for zombies and robots. After almost a whole year of appealing, the BBFC certified the original version.
