Chapter 3

Ch. 3 - Day 1

Read the notes about Cryptids (幻獣), then examine the SSS computer, read all the request. Remember to feed the cat on the SSS roof. Upgrade your equipment if you need to, there is also new Master Quartz added to the orbal store. The Scepter MQ is quite expensive, but it can let you farm sepith easily as it has properties similar to the Sepith Up bonus.

Nightmare Tip (Evasion Tank)

Before you move on to the main story, there are some optional story events, visit the following area.

Events within Crossbell City

• SSS Building
  KeA's Room - (This event will raise KeA's Bonding Points) (During this moment, you cannot put any decoration in KeA or Lloyd's room until Chapter 3 - Day 2.)
• Central Square
  General Store - Can purchase Crossbell Times #5.
  Restaurant "Vancent" - Speak to Roberts or Jonah on the second floor for an event.
  - Head to the kitchen and example the poster to learn the Pasta recipe.
• Government District
  Library - You can learn the Popcorn recipe by examining the bookself near the bulletin board.
• West Street
  General Store "Tally" - Can purchase the "Mini Bello Bicycle" collectible item for Noel's Room.
• East Street
  Old Dragon Diner - You can find Ries in this location.
• Back Alley
  Antique Shop Imelda - Can purchase the "Music Box" collectible item for Elie's room.
• Entertainment District
  Arc en Ciel - Speak to Ilya at the second floor. Note: (This event will raise Ilya's Bonding Points)
  - Enter the stage area to see an event.
  Casino - Can exchange for the "Jukebox" collectible item for Randy's room.
• Downtown
  Exchange Shop "Neinvall" - Can exchange for the "Acerbic Tomartian" collectible item for KeA's room. (Requires three Bitter Burgers)
  Trinity - Speak to Bess to receive a Purple Liquid.
• IBC
  Speak to Lanfe, the receptionist, she will give you access to Mariabell's account in Pomto!
  Note: Must finished Search for Missing Collection / 消えたコレクションの捜索 from Chapter 2.

Go to the Crossbell Station, and speak to Detective Raymond at the center. Accept the request and select the partner of your choice. Whoever you pick will also get raise in their bonding points. 1st Battle - Boss Name [EN/JP] HP Elemental Efficacy Item Drop Calvard Terrorist x2 共和国系テロリスト x2 12050 (Nightmare) 100, 100, 100, 100 Celestial Balm (40%), EP Charge II (40%) For the first battle, you will be facing against two terrorist, simply just treat it as a regular mob. These terrorist will retaliate by throwing grenades that can cause Burn on your party. The terrorist are also weak against all types of ailments. So if you have spells like Calamity Edge, you can instantly K.O. them with it's instant death properties. 2nd Battle - Boss Name [EN/JP] HP Elemental Efficacy Item Drop Calvard Terrorist x3 共和国系テロリスト x3 12050 (Nightmare) 100, 100, 100, 100 Celestial Balm (40%), EP Charge II (40%) Fake Merchant 偽ブランド商人 3812 (Nightmare) 200, 100, 100, 100 N/A For this battle, if you win without killing the Merchant it will give you an extra DP. The merchant has the ability to buff her allies, and also removed their status ailments. The difficulty of this battle can be based entirely on your partner. If you have Elie, then you should try to cast AOE spells with status ailments such as freeze. If you have Noel, then use Sleep Grenades, Randy should have his Crash Bomb. Tio should use her Absolute Zero craft or Arts. Wazy should use his Broad Axe. If your playing in Nightmare mode, the biggest hurdle in this battle is the NPC Raymond, as he is extremely fragile and can easily be killed. Try to lure the terrorist away from him, and if he gets hurt, heal him immediately. You should avoid using Team Rush if it targets the merchant. If you manage to win without killing the merchant, you will receive one extra DP.

Quest Name	The Old Mines Monster / 旧鉱山の手配魔獣
You can find the quest monster at the boss area of The Old Mines. If you don't have access to the Old Mines, then you will need to speak to the Mainz's village elder to get the key. Another note is the ladder near the level 85 Monster chest, has been repaired, giving you a shortcut to access the end of the dungeon. Boss Name [EN/JP] HP Elemental Efficacy Item Drop Meguro Bat x6 メガロバット x6 12911 (Nightmare) 110, 145, 120, 105, 100, 120, 100 Beast Flesh (100%), Savory Pinion (100%) The Meguro Bat will be just similar to fighting a monster chest battle. You are surrounded by six enemies, each of them can either hit a single target really hard with a slight chance of inflicting Confuse. Or they can use an area attack skill. You can also weaken the monster stats such as using Noel's Heavy Smash. If the battle proves to be a trouble, just make sure you have CP ready for Tio's Zero field or Elie's Aura Rain. After the battle, you will obtain a Combination Craft for Noel and Tio.

Cryptids

After you have completed all your side activities, it times for you to hunt down the Cryptids (幻獣) to move the main story. There is two Cryptids, one is located at the Boat House area of East Crossbell Highway. The other one is found in Ursula Byroad.

Boat House Cryptid

When your in the Boat House area, go to the right side of the map to trigger an event. Go past the gate and fight the Cryptid.

For this battle, is highly recommended you bring Space arts for this battle. The plants will have two arms, which will attack you at close range, while the main boss will provide a very powerful attack that can hit all of your party members. If you need healing, you should use spells such as Breath (x4, x1).to heal.Because the main boss has the ability to hit all party members, you should bring Tio to the team, as her S-Craft has the ability to nullify all attacks. When the boss HP drops about 25%, it might start casting the ultimate Space arts "Reincarnation" against you. During this moment, you should have Lloyd move near the boss and use Stun Break to prevent the boss from casting. Other party members should remain in the rear, and focus on using area spaces arts to deal maximum damage to the boss and provide additional support.

After defeating the Cryptid, examine the blue flower in the area. Then leave, the fisherman will give you a new fishing rod.

Ursula Byroad Cryptid

For the next Cryptid, go to Ursula Byroad, by the bus stop area. Then move the shallow water area, near the northeast treasure chest, an event will occur. Go inside the cave, open the treasure chest on the right to get a Fragment. Then exit out on the upper right, when your ready, touch the monster to initiate the fight.

This boss actually has massive physical defense, which makes it very hard to deal significant damage with your physical attacks. The boss has only two attacks, a shockwave ability which cause all party members to be pushed back, and might also cause faint as well. As you damage it slightly, the boss will change its attack pattern and will start using a powerful skill called Thunder Blaster. This ability hits in a straight line, and cause mute and might able to one hit K.O. your party members. During this phase, the boss will repeat the shockwave and Thunder Blaster over and over again. However you can easily take advantage of this skill, if you have A-Reflect (x6), you can put a shield on yourself, and reflect the damage taken from Thunder Blaster back to the boss. This can deal enough damage to kill the boss in a few hits. I would recommend your party to cast A-Reflect, then fully heal yourself and take the damage from the shockwave and get hit by the Thunder Blaster with A-Reflect on. Repeat this pattern until the boss is dead.

When you have defeated the Cryptid, you can also find a fishing spot right behind where the boss was located. Afterwards, examine the blue flower at the upper left corner. Then select the first choice to see an event.

Then go to the Crossbell Cathedral area to see an event. Do not go inside the Cathedral yet, head to the cemetery area and speak Mucha, she will give you a copy of Sunshine Agnes #7. If you enter the Cathedral before speaking to her, this book will be lost forever.

You can also examine Guy's grave for an optional scene. When you have collected the book, go inside the Cathedral and examine the room on the right to trigger an event. Then go follow Father Elarda to his room for another event. Exit out of the church and speak to the Ries at the building to the left. Doing this will end the day, ensure you have finished everything you need to do.

Ch. 3 - Day 2

Read all the request from the computer and then head to the roof to feed the cat. If you have collected all of KeA's collectible, you should able to see an event by going to her room today and Lloyd's room as well.

Before you move on to the main story, there are some optional story events, visit the following area.

Quest Name	West Crossbell Highway Monster / 西クロスベル街道の手配魔獣
You can find the quest monster at the Shining Pom spawn location of West Crossbell Highway. Use the map as a reference. Boss Name [EN/JP] HP Elemental Efficacy Item Drop Nepenthes G x6 ネペンテスG x6 12074 (Nightmare) 75, 100, 150, 120 U-Material (100%) This boss fight is very similar to the Neon Worms from Chapter 1. Unlike the Neon Worms, this mini boss is actually weak against some status ailments. You can actually hit them with Seal, Freeze, Petrify, Burn and even death. The main problem with these worms is that if you decided to attack them all at once, they will counterattack with a devastating earthquake attack just like Neon Worms. In Nightmare mode, this can be an instant game over, it is highly recommended taking out one target at a time, and if you plan on using Combination Crafts or S-Craft, ensure that you can wipe out the target before using it. After the battle, you will obtain a Combination Craft for Randy and Wazy.

Rozenberg Doll Studio

If you want to move on with the main story, go to Rozenberg Doll Studio, you will see an event. Afterwards, examine the gate, this will be a point of no return, so ensure you have finished all side activities, including side quest etc. When you're ready, pick the second choice. Ask Jorg all three questions.

Leave the studio and return to Crossbell City. During this moment all NPC will have a different dialogue, if you talk to Bess at the Trinity Bar, you get a Pink Liquid from him. Use the car and move to the Accident Area (In the middle of West Crossbell Highway) You will see an event as you move there. You can access the Railway area of West Crossbell Highway. Take the upper left exit, watch the next scene.

Examine the following four locations.

Then select the following choice.

• まだ断言はできない - 2nd Choice (+1 DP)

Move to Knox Woodland Road on foot. On the southwest area, examine the rope and pick the first option to go to Knox Woodlands.

From the entrance area move to the southwest path and go all the way to the top corner. Open the chest nearby to get a Celestial Balm. Then travel to the southeast corner and examine the rope to climb down. Then move to the left, you can also move to the above, to knock the tree down, doing this will easily let you return to the entrance area. From your location move to the southeast corner, you will find a treasure chest that contains a Fragment. Then go to the bottom left area, you will find an exit to the next section.

Then move all the way to the bottom area of the map, the path will split into two ways, take the bottom right path. From here go take the little path above, you will a chest on the bottom right corner. Open it to get some Sepith. Now return to where the path split ways, now take the path on the right. Go all the way up, the path way will split into three ways. Take the path on the right, it will lead you the way to the bottom, you will find a chest hidden underneath here, open it get a Denim Leather. Now go all the way back up, and take the north exit to the previous section. In here you will find a monster chest, clear it to get an Attack 3 quartz. Leave the area, and then on the left corner, you will find a Tearal Balm. Now and go all the way to the southwest side until you see an orbment station. Heal up and then take the exit.

This is actually an unwinnable battle. However, this battle will have some conditions, if you manage to damage more than 25% of the boss's health within 10 turns, you will get 2 extra DP at the end. If you manage to do-all that much damage after 11 turns, you will still get 1 extra DP. Since the boss is immune to all magic attacks, the best method would be using the Burst function, and spam all your combination crafts within those 10 turns. Just make sure you scan the boss before your demise.

Ch. 3 - Day 3

Read all the request found in the SSS computer. Because of the rain, you won't be finding the cat on the roof today. If you were working on the "Gourmet Guide Coverage / グルメガイドの取材協力" quest from Day 1. You can finally get the last gourmet from St. Ursula Medical College. Go to the Lodge and speak to Kirsch, she will give you the three day stew. After this you turn in the quest at the Crossbell News Service, to get maximum DP.

Now before you do any of the side activities. There are some optional events in town you should finish first.

  Old Dragon Diner - Speak to Rixia. (This event will raise Rixia's Bonding Points)

  Ignis - Event when entering.

Quest Name	Geofront D Monster / ジオフロントD区画の手配魔獣
Move to the Downtown area, and move to the area right next to the Guillaume Factory. Your party members will notice a door, this will lead to Geofront D. This is actually is located at the opposite end of the Geofront D you have previous explored. So make sure you have pick up all the treasures along the way. In this dungeon, you will need examine three computer terminals to unlock the gate to the mini boss area. Each Cricket has can be hit with status ailments such as sleep. If you have Noel in your party, her Sleep Grenade will work great for this battle. The main concern with this battle is the Cricket have an area skill that can drain your party's CP. Which can prevent you from using your crafts ability. You should have one of characters go to very front, so that the crickets don't focus entirely on your party in the rear. When you have defeated the mini boss, you will get new combination craft for Tio and Wazy.

Marshland of Blue

To continue with the main story, move to the Bracer Guild in East Street. Speak to Michel.

Note: If you have spoken to Lynne and Aeolia on the previous day, the dialogue for this scene will change slightly.

Then go inside the IBC Building for an event. Then go inside Orchis Tower, speak to the receptionist to get a Card Key. Then go to the right side of the building and use the elevator to move to the 40th floor. Then move to the right side of the tower to find Roberts and Jonah. After this event, return to Orchis Tower and speak to Jonah, you will get his account for Pomto! Then go to the Police Station and speak to Fran, this event will raise her Bonding Points.

Nightmare Mode Preparation

Now when your all set, move to the Waterfront Area and speak to the worker by the port, to get access to the boat. This is a point of no return, so make sure you have finished all side activities before leaving.

As you arrive in the Marshland, Yin will join your party, and you will need to make room by switching out Wazy or Noel. Yin's equipment is all ready preset, and might not be strong as the rest of the party for this reason, but Yin has many instant kill abilities such as the exploding amulet craft, which is great for killing mobs instantaneous.

Exploring the Marshland is pretty linear, the path will split a lot, where you can find treasure chest by taking a detour. When you the path split for the first time, you can find a fishing spot on the right side of the map. If go to the left side there is a Mysterious Lunch Box inside the treasure chest. Then move down until you see the path split ways, if you go to the center area first, you can find an EP Charge II, if you move to the area on the right side of the map, there is an Ebony Boots in a chest. Then continue all the way down until you reach near the exit, there is a treasure on the left, open it to get some sepith. Now move to the next area.

Watch the event scene, open the treasure chest on the left to get a Tearal Balm. Then continue all the to the bottom, and you move northwest, you can go to the small corner on the right to get a Combat Insignia from the chest. Then from here, move all the way to the west side of the map, you will find a monster chest, clear it to get an Evade 3 quartz. Then move all the way to the bottom right corner of the map, you will find a chest, open it to get a Fragment. Now move all the way to the west area, until you see the exit, you can find a treasure here, open it to get a Celestial Balm EX. Then take the exit to the next area.

Another event scene will occur, Continue forward until the path split into the three ways, if you go to the right side first, you will find the Voice Breaker quartz. If you move to the center area, you will find a treasure with some sepith. On the left path, there is a Priest Robe. When you collected the three treasures, move to the center area, you will find a Tearal Balm. Then from here if you move all the way to bottom right corner area, you can find a monster chest, clear it to get a Defense 3 quartz. Now move all the way near the west exit, if you move down to bottom, there is a Celestial Balm EX. Then heal up with the orbment station next to the exit. Then move to the next area for a major event.

This is going to be the third cryptid you will be fighting. The chimera has many different types of attacks but most of them are physical based, however, it has two attacks that can be reflected with A-Reflect (x6), Poison Breath and Diamond Dust. If you are unable to reflect magic, you should try to avoid getting hit by Diamond Dust by canceling the boss' spell casting. If you manage to farm enough materials to make an evasion tank, you can ease up your workload by having the evasion tank move to the front and tank all incoming attacks. Another method you can use is to cast Adamantine Guard for physical immunity. With the boss' massive HP, this battle will take quite a while to finish. A way of dealing massive damage to the boss is to boost your ATS to 50% and can cast strong Mirage arts.

Ch. 3 - Day 4

Return back to the SSS building, and go to the roof to feed the cat. Before you move to the main story, there are some places you can visit for optional events.

  Bracer Guild - Speak to Michel for an event.
• Waterfront Area
  Crossbell News Service - Speak to Grace or Raines.
• West Street or Central Square
  General Store - Can purchase the 6th issue of Crossbell Times
• Entertainment District
  Arc en Ciel - Enter the stage area for an event.
• Orchis Tower
  Speak to Mireille for an event.

When your done with the optional events, go to the Downtown area, and go to exchange shop and speak with Ashley. Then speak to Guillaume at the Guillaume Factory. Then move to the Casino, and speak to the Drink Owner at the second floor. After speaking with those three NPC, an event will occur as you leave. Then select the choice in the following order.

1. カジノバー "バルカ" - 3rd Choice
2. 修理屋 "ギヨーム工房" - 2nd Choice
3. 交換屋 "ナインヴァリ" - 1st Choice

If you selected the correct choices on your first try, you will get one bonus DP.

After this event, go to the department store, and move to the roof for an event. Travel to Mainz Mountain Path where the path split between Rozenberg Studio. An event will occur, the party will notice a rope near the monster chest. This is a point of no return, so when your ready, examine the rope and select the first choice to go down.

This dungeon is a completely linear, however it is a very dark area and you can easily miss a treasure chest. Use the data above as a reference. When you see the path split ways, go to the center area first, there is a monster chest that contains the Detection quartz. With this quartz equipped, you can see treasure chest nearby in the mini map. This will very useful for players that don't have a map handy. The second monster chest contains the master quartz, Moebius. When you reach to the end of the tunnel, you will be ambushed by two Blade Cougars. Fighting the Blade Cougar, is just the same as fighting a regular mob, they are also weak against status ailments.

After clearing the Blade Cougar, exit out of the area, you will end up where the level 85 monster chest was located in the old mines. If you want easily unlock some of the DP bonus for later, it is highly recommended to clear this monster chest to get the Jupiter Bell. The battle will be insanely hard, but will this quartz, you can move immediately after casting wind arts. This is a vital piece of equipment to make Elie one of the strongest art user.

This is just like your regular monster chest with eight spiders. These spiders are weak to status ailments, if you manage to land a status ailment on them, you should be safe for this battle. Each hit from the spider has a chance of petrifying you. I would suggest having your party member move close to each other, so they can cast arts such as Adamantine Guard to have physical immunity. Tio's Zero field also work great for this situation. The main problem with fighting these spiders is how much faster than you at this point. If you can cast Calamity Claw, you should able to lower the Orgon Spider speed, giving you enough turns to act. Another method would be using the Burst function, which lets you cast magic instantly. During this moment you can spam status ailment spells such as Calamity Edge or Death Spiral (10 to 20% of instant K.O.). or other type of ailment abilities to give you an edge in battle. if you are using Noel, her sleep grenade can also work quite effectively for this battle.

When you all your preparation, heal up with the orbment station, and save your game. Exit out of the mines.

There is a bonus DP condition for this battle. If you manage to win in under 70 turns, you will get one extra DP. If you manage to get the Jupiter bell, this battle will be pathetically easy, have Lloyd use Raging Spin to pull all of the enemies together, then activate burst, and use Spark Dyne non stop. This should able to deal 3000 to 4000 damage on Nightmare depending on how your mage is setup. Spamming this non stop should let you finish this battle in under 20 turns.
