Faster Blue Shadow?

  1. Am I imagining things, or Blue Shadow version runs actually faster than Shadow of the Ninja version?
    Why is that?

  1. To further clarify what ErinDillon said, yes, a European (PAL) version of a game will run faster than a North American (NTSC) version. PAL TVs refresh at 50Hz while NTSC TVs refresh at 60Hz.

Essentially, PAL versions of the game generate fewer frames of animation in a second to fit them all in a slower refresh rate of their TVs. Put that same game in a NTSC console and TV, and it plays those fewer frames at the higher speed, making the game actually play faster.

  1. You're not imagining things. Blue Shadow is a faster game than Shadow of the Ninja. It's because the European (PAL) NES runs faster than the American (NTSC) NES.
