The game Fleet Commander is actually supposed to be based - although too vaguely for precise identification - of a World War II Pacific-theater naval battle between the United States and Japan. This was censored in the game by giving the sides the names of Algon and Proton respectively; this is because you play, controlling the Proton (Japanese) navy, and end up changing history based on the ending's text ("The battle is finally over. The Japanese army has dealt a devastating blow to the U.S. navy, claiming victory. Terms of peace will be negotiated...") which implies that the Japanese won World War II rather than the U.S., at least in terms of the Pacific theater.
