Two versions of the original Mario Bros. game were released in Europe. The first version came out in 1986 and was pretty much 'redesigned' for the NES. The second version, known as the 'Classic Series' version is notable in that this version's graphics are more accurate in comparison to the arcade game. Most notable are the 'demonstrations' showing how to defeat each enemy as well as the animation of Shellcreepers (a.k.a. turtles) leaping out of their shells after they've been knocked over for an extensive period of time.
