Connection to Other Media
The Golden Gun mode was originally from the critically acclaimed James Bond video game GoldenEye 007, from its multiplayer mode. Although the game mode has notable differences. The Golden Gun now has to be built by finding all 3 parts of the gun. The gun now also has 5 bullets before the gun needs to be reloaded, and has obvious design differences. Once a player builds the gun, a time limit ensues, and the player holding the gun must eliminate each opponent once before the time limit is up, or else the player drops the gun and the gun needs to be rebuilt again.
Quite a few of the unlockable multiplayer characters are from previous James Bond films. Jaws was from The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker. Baron Samedi was from Live and Let Die. May Day and Max Zorin were from A View to a Kill. The iconic henchman Oddjob was from Goldfinger. Scaramanga was from The Man With The Golden Gun. Alec Trevelyan was from GoldenEye. Wai Lin was a Bond Girl from the film Tomorrow Never Dies.
