Weapons unlock by gaining higher scores in the chapters. Each weapon unlocks after every 50,000 points. Nigel - Reversed Controls: Solve the puzzle and use it to access the computer in Chapter 19, then head into the sewer to get the complete ending. =============================================================================== ===== 3.0 WALKTHROUGH ========================================================= ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.00 The Metro ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- April 3rd, 1989 Miami - Florida Click the answering machine to get the first message and then open the package outside the door. Follow the steps down to the first floor and get into the car to begin. Use the free aim if you'd like to look around, then lock onto the enemy at the door. The door opening will knock him out. Rush in and finish him off with the Space Bar grab. Continue north and lock onto the guy taking a piss. The door won't reach him so throw the bat at him the moment the door opens. Finish him off to clear the first floor. PUZZLE PIECE: "U" at the south end of a hallway that is west of the entrance. The second floor has a couple of patrols and several sentries. The first sentry is in view of a patrol. Wait for the patrol to enter the south-east corner of his patrol area and then take out the sentry. Once he's dead you can kill the first sentry with a shot from behind. Pick up his knife and lock onto the next patrol in the south hall. This patrol can be killed with a single shot from the knife. Stay out of view of the doorway and follow his patrol. Run out and aim at him through the doorway, then throw the knife. The sentry to the east is looking right at your entry point, so pick up an object and lock on. Hit him just as you enter the hallway to knock him out and then kill him. The final guys in the north-west can be killed one at a time. Pick up a knife and throw it at one of them, then pick up the other knife and throw it at the other. Kill the remaining guy and take his briefcase. Return to the first floor to find the doors shut. You can't pick up weapons while you hold the briefcase, so lure the patrols near you one at a time and knock them out. Kill them off to unlock the doors and return to the car. Follow the alley in the next area and drop off the briefcase. A wild bum appears, but you can easily rush in and kill him. Get to the car to end the chapter. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.01 No Talk ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- April 8th, 1989 Miami - Florida This is where the enemies start to carry guns. The first guy will be easy to take out when his back is turned but watch for the patrol from below. Next up is the guy in the north-west room with a gun. Door slam him and kill him. Don't make any noise with guns yet as that will attract the others. Pick up a pipe and kill the next two guys in the south-west hall when they're out of each other's view. Grab a shotgun and make some noise to lure the patrol near you, then finally kill the guy seated in the middle. PUZZLE PIECE: "T" in front of the kitchen sink in the north room. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.02 Overdose ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- April 16th, 1989 Miami - Florida Time to get more reckless. Door slam the sentry and then rush the guy on the toilet with your current weapon. Equip any gun nearby quickly and aim toward the top hallway to kill the patrol. Lock onto the final guy in the north hallway and kill him to move on. The second floor is crawling with the most enemies thus far. The good part is it's in tight quarters and you can make use of doorways to funnel them in. Kill the first guy and then wait for them to walk toward you as they hear the gunfire. You can clear the first three room in this manner, as long as you switch out weapons or react quickly by throwing whatever's in your hand if you run out of ammo. The outliers--like the guy in the south-east bathroom--won't cause you any trouble PUZZLE PIECE: "A" next to a bathtub in the south-east of the second floor. MASK: "Earl" is found on the limbless and headless torso in the south room of the second floor. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.03 Decadence ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- April 25th, 1989 Miami - Florida The guys on the first floor will be tightly grouped. Take out the loner in the beginning and then throw a melee weapon at the guy in the far north hallway. From here you can take a melee weapon and door slam one guy in the south-east room and bash in the other. Burst into the north-east room and melee one guy then throw the weapon at the guy on the couch. Pick up one of the assault rifles and take out the sentry in the west room. Fall back and wait for the other two guys to turn a corner where you're aiming the rifle. Move up to the second floor. Grab the knife and use it to melee the guard at the north corner. Wait for the patrol guys in the immediate south room to get near and then door slam the first and knife the second. Knife the guy in the bottom room to clear the east side. Grab a shotgun and target the guy in the center hallway. Shoot him from afar near the north pool table and take cover if anyone notices. Use this same technique to take out the east sentry in the dining room and then the west sentry in the far corner. Approach the guys in the north-west room from the north with a shotgun, starting with the one on the couch and then the standing guy separately if needed. PUZZLE PIECE: "O" on the right side of the dining table on the second floor. Grab a fully loaded shotgun before you head down. The boss will appear from his office. Target him and keep your distance as one shot will not take him down. It'll take three rounds to defeat him. Pick up the strung out girl on the bed in his office and return to the car. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.04 Tension ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May 5th, 1989 Miami - Florida That chapter title is not kidding. This first floor is packed with enemies, and you'll need to develop a pattern to follow to take them all out. Start by waiting for the patrol in the south-west to be near the sentry, then rush in and punch them both out quickly. Kill them off and take the shotgun. Now you can wait for the dog or a patrol to wander in front of the door to the south-west room and shoot them. Stand inside to the lower-left with a clear sight through the doorway. Shoot all enemies as they cross into your gun's line of sight. Take out the guy in the north-west if he didn't already rush you in the doorway. Pick up another gun. Go to the door for the mid-north office and kill one guy, then quickly retreat to the north-west bathroom. Aim at the door like before and kill them as they search for you. Hold the cursor to the right and aim at the two melee guys in the south-east. Shoot through the blue glass walls to kill them. The final guy in the north-east can be taken out any way you choose. Pick up a knife before you move to the second floor. Immediately kill the guy who enters the hallway, then wait near the doorway. Use the knife to kill the patrol guys as they walk past the door. Keep the knife and do the same thing with the next two patrol guys, then use the knives to kill the two guys in the north hallway. Finally, kill the guy in the north-west pool room. Grab a gun and go to the far east room. Aim at the west room door (with all the wires) and shoot it from as far away as you can. An explosion will kill everyone in that room. The two guys behind tables can be killed with any gun, but you have to shoot them the moment they're in the line of sight. Otherwise they'll shoot you. You can also rush in and keep moving to shoot them while locked on but get past their fire. PUZZLE PIECE: "A" on the west side of the explosion room. Return to the car when you're done. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.05 Full House ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May 11th, 1989 Miami - Florida This area has more individual patrols and sentries in small rooms and hallways. This'll allow you to use melee weapons for stealth kills. Wait outside until a patrol and a dog wander into the foyer and kill them, then kill the loner in the next room. There's a single guy in the checkerboard rug room who can also be easily killed, and finally one sentry in the south-east kitchen. Grab a shotgun and kill the guys in the south-west one at a time by shooting one and going into a small room in the north where you can wait for the other guys to look for you. The final set of dudes in the north-east is similarly tough to beat if you rush in. Open the door and quickly kill one, then run back into a side room and wait. If they don't follow just repeat the attacks until they're all dead. Pick up a knife before you move on. PUZZLE PIECE: "E" in the south-east kitchen on the first floor. The second floor is a good floor to use knife kills. Kill the pisser guy and the one just south of that, then throw a weapon at the single patrol in the south-east room. Now grab a melee weapon and stand by the west door. Kill one guy at a time as they approach the door. Next, use a gun to shoot the guys lined up right in front of the door in the north-east room. The smoker might not budge, so take him out as you like. The final two guys in the north-west are simple as well. MASK: "Jones" is in a sewer. Complete the chapter and pick up a crow bar. Take it to the sewer outside in the south-east corner. Go inside to find the mask. Return to the car to end the chapter. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.06 Clean Hit ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May 13th, 1989 Miami - Florida This first floor is one big open area full of guys. There are also some stationary sentries who are packing uzis. Essentially, you can't barge in. Go kill the guy on the john and then equip a shotgun. Aim to the left. Quickly open the doors and start firing blindly into the room as you back up toward the gun room. This'll clear out any in your line of sight. You'll want to equip more weapons and repeat firing into the room from different angles. There's one guy in the north corner who may require a low angle, but if you follow this strategy it won't be too tough. Grab a loaded weapon and go into the second floor elevators. Enter the east room with the arrow and crawl south until you're on the balcony. Equip the gun and kill the first patrol on the south balcony, then kill the other two patrols that rush in. The four guys inside the room won't move, so you're free to lock onto them and kill them one at a time. The guy on the toilet won't put up a fight. PUZZLE PIECE: "I" on the east balcony of the second floor. Get to the car to move on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.07 Neighbors ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May 23rd, 1989 Miami - Florida The first couple of guys will walk into fist attacks if you peek out. Grab the shotgun and kill the fat suit guy, then the patrols who move in when they hear you. Lure the others with shotgun fire to kill them all in doorways. PUZZLE PIECE: "N" in the north-west computer room of the first floor. Most of the second floor enemies can be lured, but first take out the two guys with their backs to you and the dog. Grab a shotgun and wait in the hallway for one of the patrols to enter the central hallway. Kill him and return to the east hallway. Wait for them to come to you. Clear the remaining guys to complete the stage. The third floor is a similar slim hallway with adjoining rooms. Knock out the first two and use shotguns to kill the rest. The south-west guys on the fourth floor can easily be taken out with melee. Use a shotgun for the guys in the north. Pick up the phone when it rings for your next assignment. You'll find everyone at the phone company has already been slaughtered. Hop in the elevator and enter the main office to find a biker who's none too pleased to see you. This guy stays on you pretty closely, and you can't just walk up and attack him without getting killed. He can throw his weapon as well so you'll want to keep your distance and watch his movement. Your goal is to lure him by walking around the room so you can grab a golf club in the south-west corner. Hold the golf club and wait for the biker to throw his weapon and miss. He'll throw the cleaver with every third swipe and then go to retrieve it. That's your chance to go in and attack. It'll take two attacks to kill him. Flee to the car to leave the chapter behind. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.08 Push It ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May 27th, 1989 Miami - Florida The first floor's biggest obstacle is the group in the middle. First kill the dog and sentry in the west room. Equip a gun and blast the first guy in the center room. Flee and wait in the west room for more guys to follow you. Repeat this until the middle room is cleared. Sweep the rest of the place room by room to complete the stage. The south-west second floor is easy enough with a melee weapon. Equip something and fight room to room, avoiding noise. Throw the melee weapons and use door slams for a one-two punch as you enter each room. I found it easiest to move counter-clockwise. Return to the first floor and enter the south-east stairs. Lure the first smoker sentry near you and kill him, then rush the guy in the north-west. Quickly hide away in the north-west corner and wait for more guys to follow. Kill the guys in the east room next. The final guys in the south-west area won't be a problem. PUZZLE PIECE: "R" in the north-east corner of the big dance floor on the south-east stage of the second floor. Return to the car. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.09 Crackdown ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May 31st, 1989 Miami - Florida You can honestly punch your way through much of the first floor. Punch the dog that immediately appears and keep punching upward to take out two melee sentries. Aim left and punch the dog who rushes in from the west. Head east and wait for one of the patrols to be at the door. Door slam him and kill the other guy. Wait for the two guys in the south-east room to be close and take them out with a melee weapon. The final guys in the west are simple. Kill the two melee guys in the south room. Next, target the guy in the far north. Open the door and throw a weapon at north guy as you walk over and punch south guy. Kill them off to complete the stage. You'll want to stay on the right side of the second floor as much as possible. Knock out the three guys near you, then use the knife to kill the guy at the east end of the hall. Grab the shotgun and use it to shoot through the glass toward the guy in the far north. Kill as many others as you can with one shot. Back away in the right area and kill as others who venture near you. If you've killed any wanderers your only choice is to go to the east and kill one or two more guys inside the south-west room with a gun. If you see a red laser appear in windows and SWAT guys, it's time to go. PUZZLE PIECE: "L" in the north hallway of the second floor. The first floor return will have a few SWAT guys, and although you can't kill them you can knock them down. Fight your way through the south-east room and get to the car to escape. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.10 Hot & Heavy ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- June 3rd, 1989 Miami - Florida You'll want to go stealth for most of the first floor. Door slam the first sentry and take his weapon. Walk north along the west wall to avoid the shooters in the east room. Kill the two in the north with knives or thrown weapons, and do the same for the guy in the far east section of the hallway. Take a gun and aim down. The next group is tightly grouped, so you'll need to push the door to the south hallway open and fire into the room to take out as many as possible. Lure the rest into the doorway and use a gun or melee weapons to kill them. Three sentries will remain with their back to you. Kill them as you see fit. You have three options here. Pick up a gun and start with the north-west stairs. The best thing here is shotguns. Blow away the first guy and any others who are lured in, then rush in and kill the guy in the north room. Now use the various guns to kill the patrols in the west hallway, the central hallway and rooms, and the north hallway. You should have some patrols in the far north room and a few in the west room. Kill the guys in the north room and then rush in and blow away the guys in the west room with a shotgun. MASK: "Jake" is in the north-west section of the second floor of Chapter 10. On a dead body in the far north room. Return to the first floor and grab a shotgun. Enter the east stairs. The first thing to do here is kill the guy at the door and then shoot into the hallway to lure guys near you. Don't let them into your foyer or they'll likely kill you. Use this tactic to lure as many as possible and kill them. Now wait for any patrols to pass by your door and kill them with a melee weapon. The remaining sentries in the rooms are easy enough, but watch out for the blue window walls. Creep up on them around corners and kill the hallway sentries. You can kill the ones in the rooms through the windows. PUZZLE PIECE: "I" in the south-west room of the second floor, east stairs. Grab a loaded gun and go to the south-east stairs on the first floor. This portion of the second floor has three stationary sentries in the middle who won't move, so avoid them for now. Kill the three guys in the first hallway with a single barrage if you can, or retreat to the room for cover if you have to. Keep luring guys and dogs near you and kill them at the doorway. Move east and north to kill the guys in the steam room, and then west to kill the guy in the north hallway. Now you're free to kill the sentries in the middle. Simply take them out one at a time. Return to the first floor and then the car to continue. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.11 Deadline ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- June 8th, 1989 Miami - Florida This floor is simple. Punch out the first bunch of guys who rush in, then take a melee weapon and kill the guys in the south-east. Pick up a gun and shoot the remaining sentries in the west room. Go to the elevator to move up. This next floor is a nice change. Kill the guy at the elevator exit and take him silenced gun. Use it to silently take out nearly everyone, starting with the middle patrols, then the south shooters, then the north-east room, and finally the north-west room. Use the gun to kill the guys in the south-west room, or whatever weapon you find lying around. PUZZLE PIECE: "N" in the projector room, south-west corner, second floor. Get to the elevator to proceed to the third floor. This one's not too tough and there are many corners for you to use as cover. Kill the first guy and the one in the next room to the north with melee or fists, then shoot the guy in the room to the east. Take cover if others come in to investigate and kill them as they walk away. Now enter the room in the south-east. You'll have clear line of sight through the glass walls and can take out a good number of patrols and sentries just by aiming to the north- east and firing with a shotgun. After this, move from room to room and kill them individually, using cover if they come after you. Pick up a loaded shotgun, ideally a six round gun. Return to the elevator and get to the first floor. Wait for a van to crash through the entrance and then walk up to the entrance. Use the wall between you and the van to block his molotov cocktails. Wait and aim down to shoot the guys who come out of the van. Keep killing them until the molitov guy gives up. Off to the car then. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.12 Trauma ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The intro for this chapter is a bit weird (in an increasingly fuckin' weird story). You'll get shot, but that's as intended. Follow through with it and then enter the hospital room in the north. July 21st, 1989 Miami - Florida Your goal now is to simply escape the hospital. The more you move the fuzzier the screen gets. Stop and rest to get things looking steady. Exit through the window and move to the south room. Wait for the cop to get back into his newspaper and move into the east room across the hall. Enter the next room north, but don't linger in front of the windows. Stand in the upper-left corner. Now time it so that the doctor is walking east and the cops are in their newspapers when you dash for the key card room. Pick up the key card. Like before, wait for everyone to be out of view or distracted. Dash across to the next room with no windows and quickly click the door to unlock it. Wait inside and stand in front of the door. The risk here is the window on the left, the doctor in the small room, and that damn hallway doctor. Wait for the hallway doctor to walk west and then for the patrol doctor to have his back to you. Dash across the doors and past the patrol doctor, then out into the east hallway. Quickly run to the north-east corner and rest. The remaining obstacle is that hallway doctor. As before, wait for him to turn west. PUZZLE PIECE: "W" in the south-east bathroom. Wait for the hallway doctor to move west and run for it. The exit is in the elevator. Click it to move on. The first floor is simple enough there are two doctors patrolling the hallway. Wait for both of them to pass and then make your way along the north end of the main hallway. Watch the windows for doctors in the rooms. Walk along to the doors on the west side and escape. Return to your apartment and dig in the hamper to find some clothes, then head to the car. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.13 Assault ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Although intimidating at first glance, the cops are dumber than the mafia guys you've been killing. Door slam and punch out the patrols that walk by the door. If this attracts attention then simply stand at the doorway and punch everyone out. Wait for them to stop coming and then grab a gun, ideally a shotgun. If you fire a single shot it'll attract most of the cops on this floor. Stand back and then plug the doorway with gunfire to kill them. If you run low or run out and there are still guys, throw your weapon and go in close for some punching. Pick up a weapon and resume until they stop. If you don't see the Stage Clear it means there are still some guys in the far south room. Equip a gun and take them out. PUZZLE PIECE: "S" on the first floor inside the south-west bathroom. Pick up a gun and move on to the elevator. The second floor is a slaughter. Shoot the first guy and aim east. Shoot the cops and detectives as they come, and walk out to equip one of the dead guys' guns as you need it. Stay in the elevator and keep shooting until they stop coming. There should now be a few scattered guys. Kill them one by one and exit through the elevator. The third floor is another semi-easy area. Punch out the guys to the immediate north and south, then equip a shotgun. Aim west into the hallway and west room and kill as many as you can with a shot or two. Back up and take out the ones who walk in to find you. Equip a shotgun and aim north, then strafe left and shoot toward the chief's office. You can take them all out with a couple of these strafe runs. Use this to also take out any wandering patrols in the central hallway. The final cops should be a group in the north-west and a single cop to the north. Use a shotgun to take them all out. Grab the keys from the north-west office and open the cell in the north-east. Talk to the guy and then take him out. MASK: "Richter" is on the top floor of the police station in Chapter 13. Search the north-east room. Return to the north room and pick up the file, then leave to the car. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.14 Vengeance ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- July 23rd, 1989 Miami - Florida Knock out the guy on the right and then turn to the front desk dude. Take the shotgun to the next room. Here you can hang back in the room and lure them in. Shoot the first guy and then the two others to rush in. Hang there and keep killing guys as they get near. Grab additional guns if need be. Continue until there are only a few sentries remaining. Sneak up on them to clear the stage. Grab a loaded gun and climb the stairs. Some patrol dogs will spot you right away so aim north-east and start firing. Kill the first few who rush in to calm the place. Use a melee weapon to kill all the guys in the west hall, and use a gun to take out the heavy and the sentry. Don't go in that room as the guys across the way will shoot you through the glass. Equip a gun and kill them through the windows from a safe distance. Now go to the east hall and kill the remaining guys and any guys still inside that room before the boss's office. Enter inside to get your next address. PUZZLE PIECE: "B" in the bathroom across from the entrance on the second floor. Leave to the car. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.15 Showdown ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wait for the heavy guys to have their backs to the entrance then rush in and kill the sentry. Take the shotgun and quickly use one shot each to kill the heavys. PUZZLE PIECE: "H" in the west room next to the entrance. Proceed to the stairs. Run and grab the trophy on the east side and use it to kill the panthers. Then, throw the trophy at the girl as she comes after you. Grab a knife and duck behind one of the fountains, then throw the knife at the boss when he pauses to reload. Repeat this with a second knife to disarm him. Grab the gun and enter the elevator. The next part is out of your hands. Walk in and do what you're gonna do. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.16 Safehouse ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- July 23rd, 1989... back to May 13th, 1989 Miami - Florida The biker plays differently than the protagonist. For one, no masks to give you various abilities during combat. And then there's his attachment to the cleaver. You can't switch weapons. Instead, you have a cleaver for close range and 3 knives. Save the knives for armed enemies, and if you run out of them lure enemies and hide around a corner to kill them. MASK: "Charlie" is in the kitchen in Chapter 16. Get to the south-east room. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.17 Fun & Games ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May 16th, 1989 Miami - Florida Don't waste your knives on these guys. Kill them off one at a time and lure the shotgun guys toward you to knife them. Move on to the next floor when it's all clear. Charge the group to the west, then poke your head into the west hall. Wait for two of the guys to move up and kill them, but don't go too far into the west hall. There's a shooter behind glass in the south-west corner. Wait by the door to the central hall and kill two dogs as they pass by. Lure the two gun patrols in the central hall and cleaver them to death. Move on to the north-east room and cleaver the patrol followed by the sentry facing the wall. Walk along the central hall toward the south-east. The remaining knife guy will come out to take a cleaver to the face. Now you just have the south-west corner. Lock onto the gun guys one at a time and throw knives at them through the glass wall north of them. Kill the remaining guy to clear the chapter. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.18 Prank Call ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May 23rd, 1989 Miami - Florida Slaughter everyone on the first floor and then do the same thing to everyone on the second floor. Get to the computer to get your next address. That's when the protagonist appears. Beat him to the golf bag and cleaver him to end the fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.19 Resolution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May 24th, 1989 Miami - Florida Enter the building and head to the south-west corner. Normal Ending: Skip the computer and head into the sewer. Kill the two cleaners after the dialogue and then return to the bike to complete the game. Complete Ending: Collect the puzzle pieces and solve the puzzle. The solution is "I WAS BORN IN THE USA". Access the computer to get the information about those responsible for the calls. Head down into the sewer and complete the dialogue to get the full story. =============================================================================== ===== 4.0 PUZZLE ============================================================== Open the pause menu to access the puzzle. These puzzle pieces are collected in the chapters in the form of purple squares with white dots in the middle. See section 3.19 for the solution. Chapter 2: "A" next to a bathtub in the south-east of the second floor. Chapter 3: "O" on the right side of the dining table on the second floor. Chapter 4: "A" on the west side of the explosion room. Chapter 5: "E" in the south-east kitchen on the first floor. Chapter 6: "I" on the east balcony of the second floor. Chapter 7: "N" in the north-west computer room of the first floor. Chapter 8: "R" in the north-east corner of the big dance floor on the south-east stage of the second floor. Chapter 9: "L" in the north hallway of the second floor. Chapter 10: "I" in the south-west room of the second floor, east stairs. Chapter 11: "N" in the projector room, south-west corner, second floor. Chapter 12: "W" in the south-east bathroom. Wait for the hallway doctor to move west and run for it. Chapter 13: "S" on the first floor inside the south-west bathroom. Chapter 14: "B" in the bathroom across from the entrance on the second floor. Complete Ending: There is an alternate ending that fleshes out the antagonists' motivations.
