Summary
The Imp is a strong character, but you have to learn to use it first. The Imp really shines once you’ve unlocked some of his abilities to improve his implode ability. As far as attacking goes, the Imp is pretty versatile. The combination of his larger aura and his zip and flutter abilities lets him easily ram into enemies to banish them, and imploding is a good option when you need to catch an orb runner right now or when your foes have bunched up. He can also be built for speed with the right abilities and talismans, potentially getting infinite stamina for his zipping dash. His unique dash and jump give him good mobility for running the orb. He has a few weaknesses, though. First, implode banishes your Imp. This can be mitigated with talismans or one of his abilities, but early on it’s a notable drawback to the character. Second, his zipping dash can be hard to control until you get a feel for its rhythm. Third, his flutter lacks the speed and height that many characters would get on a jump, meaning he’s easier to block. Secrets of the Accursed Imp is the way to go; it lets him attack freely and move more quickly. The other tree focuses too heavily on the Moon Sign mechanic, which is situational at best.
