The game features a full motion video introduction sequence, something very remarkable and uncommon for the time of its release due to the limited storage capacity of the Genesis/Mega Drive cartridges.
The flickies that star in this game made their first appearance in 1984 in their own plattform game "Flicky" in the arcades (1991 on Genesis/Mega Drive). In that game they had to flee from domestic animals that wanted to hunt them, with the same bird-collecting game mechanic used here.
